Dont forget you can also use the TACAN of another Airfield to find yours. Just measure Distance and Radial and then use your HSI. As statet by Dee-Jay there are plenty of options, you should be creative in usage and do a proper flight planning.

Question for me is: Why the LANTIRN View when i can just use an NVG? @Cupra Why would this feature be a Reason for you to switch to DCS? I couldnt fire up this other sim since i was used to the Graphics and especially since VR and a lot of other things.... Only thing im Missing is a German capable Squad

Thanks to all the helpfull people here :) it sounds like the Road i had to go is to use some sort of baseplate where i can mount the stick. I dont have a Desk in my "Pit" but im thinking to construct some sort of front plate where i can mount my Thrustmaster MFDs. So i can use this to mount the stick. Currently not sure if i still want to use them in VR . Here is a link to the current state of my Simpit: https://photos.app.goo.gl/8UHdZ3L2YREe8wBn9

Hi folks, i startet to build me some sort of Homepit. Since im using VR i dont need a full pit with all the Buttons and lights, so the first thing i want to achieve is getting the controls where they belong to. My seat is a PÖANG from Ikea, mounting the Throttle is no problem since i can mount it on the side. For the Stick i currently plan to use my X65 Stick at the side for the F-16. But for the other stuff i want my Thrustmaster Stick center mounted. Im not quite sure how to get it center mountet. Since im a Graphic Designer my knowledge of "building some wooden stuff" is very limited :P So i thught maybe the Community here can give me some headstart and give me some Tips and ideas on how to Mount the Stick centered in my Seat?

NVG in the F-16? How do i turn it on??
-
cant check it atm, but shouldnt changing of lasercodes happen on the corresponding DED Page?

Not needed on the Rift S, i wear glasses and you can adjust the distance of the glasses very well in the Rift S. This was needed on the 1st Gen Occulus.

Which direciton? VR or TrackIR+HOTAS for A10C?
Delareon replied to wagdog's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Well, there is currently nothing which can top the immersion of flying VR. I have combined it with VoiceAttack and its amazing. I will never go back thats for sure. If the FPS drops so much that i cant play it i would rather stop playing DCS than using Track IR again. But this is all personal preference, if you dont know VR you dont miss anything and a good Hotas is always a good choice. So maybe best choice would be to first invest in a good stick and than safe for a Rift or something like that. -
Its mostly a matter of "staying in the parameters" ecxept one thing: currently one brake (i think the right, cant validate it im at work currently) works better than the other. You can easily test it, if you are just hitting the brakes fully and apply some thrust (without any wind) the plane drifts to the right. Thats an issue shich hould be addressed. As far as im aware its allready reportet multiple times but not sure if ED are fixing this.

There is but its not implemented yet. If its ready hit the Cage/Uncage Button on Final when you no longer need the ILS needles and you will have a decluttered view for the landing.

i have flown the "Island" Mission yesterday and was a bit concerned that i miss my Push time if i wait for the GPS to fully align. So i did only a 4 Minute alignment and then startet. Compared to my previous runs before the INS Implementation the Steerpoint was roughly about 2 miles off to the north. Off course i can only tell for the Airport and for the Target Steerpoint but i assume that all waypoints are equally off. So yeah it works without but it has consequences. So you have to decide if you need precice Waypoints or if its enough if you come roughly in the right direction.

Yes its doable but still by far not correct as is, which is the reason why its reportet.

Currently DCS is saving lots of Stuff iun the Saved Games Folder. Even Mods and other stuff you have to install there which makes Drive C growing and growing. Is it possible to tell DCS to use another folder on another drive for that kind of stuff?

Suggestion for ED and 3rd Party to Communicate Process
Delareon posted a topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hey, i dive into Game Development lately and just stumbled across the Unreal Engine Roadmap. They basically releasing a Trello Board with Features in different Development and Planing Stages. If someone from ED is reading this, maybe this is worth a try. https://trello.com/b/TTAVI7Ny/ue4-roadmap -
If ED implement this, please not as half assed as in BMS. Those partially implementet procedures which only annoys the Player was one Reason why i quit BMS in favour of DCS. Which means including proper Boresighting on the Ground.

Oh yeah, that would be cool. Currently i use the Slider next to the Throttle on the Warthog with a massive curve and im finally able to roll trim without fighting against the trim. But im only able to use this since i play VR only lately because this was my zoom axis before.
-
Anybody ever tried to setup his X65 without the Throttle? I have both, Warthog and X65 because there was some Damage on the Throttle. But with the Release of the Viper i want to use the x65 Stick and the Throttle of the Warthog. Any Ideas how to set something like this up?

Hey, dunno if this is the right place for this Question but is it possible to change the Plane in the Starting Hangar in VR? Got a little tired to always look at the same one.
-
same here, i dont need any rudder input for the other jets in no wind conditions, except the F-16 even in clean configuration. I just watched the Track Files from =BJM= and its similar to what i experience. Are the Guys which doesnt experience it sure that they have no feet on the Rudder, no Breaks no Stick Movement and no Trim? Try another thing: While standing still on the Runway, Apply Full Brakes and then Full AB. Your Plane will Move to the right. Hopefully they finetune FLCS soon. All the Weapons and Systems are fine but first you need to be able to pilot the Jet in my Opinion.

I set it to various speeds but seems like it had no effect. The Tanker cruises at around 260kts, i cant get him faster. SO thats the Question, if it doesnt work to change the speed in this Task, where do i need to put the numbers in?
-
I will Hijack this Thread, because its a similar Topic: I have a Tanker which doesnt do what i want him to do... The Tanker does the Racetrack and i can Refuel. But its slow as hell. I have a KC-135 and want him to fly 350kts. But no matter which speeds i enter he flys only 250kts. I attached the Misson maybe someone can take a look at it and point me to my error? F16_tanker2.miz

Thanks for Track Files and Videos. Well now my Crosswinds are getting better, while they are still not easy.. But i still think is has to be tweaked in DCS because of the heavy jumping if one tire comes a little bit earlier to the ground and massive control input needed. I dont see so heavy control input in the Youtube Video aswell.
-
Not really, in BMS you just bring the plane down and it regulates itself until you hit around 20kts crosswind. If you try to crab you will crash very very easily. So i was thinking this behavior is correct since so many people praise the correct simulation.... I even found videos from a Phantom if i remember correctly, which exactly behaves like this. But this was so long ago i couldnt find it anymore. The rudder currently doesnt feel right because ist a bit sluggish and to intensive if you pull just softly but not extensive enough if you hit it full. At least for me so far. But maybe i just had to adjust my curves a bit.

No further people actually landing in crosswind AND willing to not just talk but show it? Just saw the Overhead Pattern Thread from Wags without any wind.... But so far i think i flew that Bird too much like in BMS, when i read the F-16 Manual here: https://info.publicintelligence.net/HAF-F16.pdf There is the Crosswind section which actually tells you to do a wing level crab in that situations. Lets see if it works better then.
