Other possibility is that you editet some lua files through a mod for example. Then the F-16 will also dissapear.
-
What you say is just nitpicking. i complain about the reportet and W.I.P. Fact that you cant land this Plane in crosswind as it should be. Reason might be the tires or whatever. Its not my job to analyze it to the last bolt and it doesnt matter much if its acutally the flight model or the tires or maybe the code for the runway... (thats why ED has it Experts, which allready agreed and working on it).
-
try it and you see it.... touch down and your tires have instantly grip a formula one car can only dream of... which results in a Plane jumping from one side of the runway to the other...
-
if only the crosswind behaviour would be fixed.... For me thats currently the only reason to not touch this Jet. But yeah, that Plane is a beauty. It has everything it needs, right where it needs to be and was designed with the Pilot in Mind. So if you plan ahead there is no need to take your hands away from throttle and stick in an engagement and even in regular manouvers you dont have to touch many other controls.
-
To avoid having multiple Documents and easier handling i suggest providing the Manual via Google Drive or something similar. Just like Chucks Guide so you dont have to guess if there is allready a new document out there or not.

Editing the config as statet in this Thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=262823 Results in loss of the entire Module, no matter what you change the F-16 Module is gone. Especially the DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\FM\config.lua hurts because the F-16 is not able to land in crosswinds without that temporary fix. If im wrong then let Matt do a Mini Tutorial about crosswind landings and let me see him do a safe landing with heavy crosswind (15kts + straight from 90degrees).

[ALREADY REPORTED]Excessive Lateral Tire Grip - Taming the Viper
Delareon replied to Deano87's topic in Bugs and Problems
@TOViper They changed it, now if you modify the config in any way the Module dissapears and you are no longer able to fly it, no matter if singel or multiplayer. -
[ALREADY REPORTED]Excessive Lateral Tire Grip - Taming the Viper
Delareon replied to Deano87's topic in Bugs and Problems
Still not possible to modify anything and the problem still isnt corrected, or can anybody report something different? -
The Rift S has a very tight sweet spot, which adds to that situation. Sometimes i meet the spot very well and dont have problems, sometimes not. But to be honest: in Elite Dangerous i had never problems of unclear fonts like in DCS so there are ways to improve it. Its not always a matter of the user changing his behavior, thats a topic the software should change to follow users needs.

did you find out something? i wasnt able to change any of the values in that config.lua without "loosing" the Viper Module. -
Steam or Regular Version of DCS?
-
Well its not very easy to find something in a 420 Pages Thread... Maybe we should ask for a Subforum for Viacom? Anyways, is the workflow pointet above also suitable for the "non-Steam" Version of the Game? Or do i have to wait for some further update?

[ALREADY REPORTED]Excessive Lateral Tire Grip - Taming the Viper
Delareon replied to Deano87's topic in Bugs and Problems
Applying this fix in 2.5.6 makes the F-16 Module dissapear :( Anybody else have trouble applying this Mod now? -
Well, if ED provides Bug fixing people complaining that they dont get fancy features. If they providefancy features they complain that ED doesnt fix the Bugs. So anyways, i decided to ignore everybody in their negative mindset and be happy about the stuff that comes with any update. :pilotfly:

VR Goggles seetrough
Delareon replied to Airsharks Paparazzi's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
its totally possible to use the see through. With all the benefits and downsides, because you dont see the Game anymore until you switch back. So i wouldnt really recommened it though. I used it in the beginning to grab my drink while having the glasses on but in the meantime i just dont use it anymore since i just remember where i have my things or lift the Rift and take a look. For example, using the keyboard with seethrough doesnt work for me since i couldnt read the keyboard.... There are just a few keys i need so i dont need it much, for example the F Keys, i just feel where F1 is and then simply count. Mostly i use the mouse to click the switches which was surprisingly easier compared to TrackIR. The Buttons i need more often i have bound to my Warthog switches. -

TM HOTAS 3-way AP Switch for F-16 AP 3-Way switch
Delareon replied to FoxOne007's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
It would be nice to have the possibility to make your own adjustments in the lua without them getting overriden by updates. Just the possibility to merge the own added commands, in a own lua file in your saved games folder, to the existing ones like the game automatically creates for button assignments. -
correcting the heading is in most cases a combination of rudder and stick. crabbing just short before touchdown is only one of the possible solutions, you can also correct upfront. Maybe the Glider is bent, its by far not the most modern one where rudders are perfectly optimized. Another Reason why its different between planes, ofc if there are good thermals that day (which you really want in a glider) there comes also thermal turbulences and caused by that and maybe landmarks different wind directions and speeds which also leading to corrections. You almost never have such academic conditions in RL.
-
not using the rudder in flight..... not using the rudder on landing.... jeeeeez, note to myself: never give the controls to a sim pilot :D That might be true in an F-16, i never flew a jet, but not in a regular propeller plane so be aware to not simplify stuff there are differences between planes. You have to conquer Torque and even in Gliders whitout any torque you need slight rudder input even in straight flight. But thats another Topic in this Thread full of different Topics. Guys, you are talking about different topics. Many of you try to explain the physical world, guys like The Falcon and me are more talking about a Game Engine and the experience as a whole. Where things like headwind on start and drift are things to consider. I would suggest we just wait until this FM Changes are available and discuss then if the behavior is now more like the behavior we think it should have.
-
Well dont forget the fact that we are not talking about the physical world but about a computer program. So for that reason things like interaction with the ground in terms of drift and so on has to be accountet there except DCS simulates the forces much more closer to reality. Which is something only Devs can really tell.

Its possible to damage the Landing Gear. I tried to pull the Gear out while i was flying roughly 380 knots and the gear was damaged as expected. The other time was when an ILS Approach on a unfamiliar Airstrip went wrong, i touched down before the Runway and hittet some fences i think. Result was that the Gear was damaged and i was sitting on the Belly... However never managed to damage the Gear with a hard landing on the Runway so far but i didnt try to break the Wheels on purpose so far.
-
i would consider the whole rearming thing as unrealistic and it should be kicked out of the Sim. A task which can take hours reduced to jut a few seconds and then complaining about a few minutes of algnment. You should be able to adjust Loadout upfront and you should be able to refuel but not rearming, then it doesnt make any difference to align a few minutes longer.
-
Well if wind has zero effect on the flight FM then we would have another problem. Even if you dont crash because of e.g. strong head wind (as long as you are not to slow and wind changes its strength for example) you still have drift and the nose of the plane moves inside of the wind direction. And even if you only want to be affected at landing or start, when exactly begins the landing and when exactly ends the take off?

Do you need to trim to 11 degrees AOA for landing
Delareon replied to SmoglessPanic's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
No Trim for the F-16. use your Stick to put your nose up as you need use the Throttle to move the FPM to the position it needs to be. If you are stabilized you should be able to take your hand away from the stick and just do minor corrections with the Throttle. Well without wind that is and you really should take your Hands back when you are close to touchdown ;)
