to the missle question: well i have a person my close friendship who saw the aim120b and aim120c performe in real life. yes they use the datalink as a certain support but maddoging is still a used taktik of the nato pilots. it has allways to do with the need of the certain actions that have to be done. i myself do not like to fact of maddoging but to punish people for it, just because some people cannot handle it, is in my opinion not the way to go. you have to pay more attention. that is nonsence. the only thing this does is, that you do not have to pay more attention to the fight, cause this stupied mod supports more then ever the tactic most ARH pilots use. shoot, then turn and burn, cause my missile will do the job for me. this is hilarious, but funny. i hope that there will be no freak who messes up the future modules. where is the skill, when poeple improve things in a lua that are nonsence? then i can also buy myself a xbox360 and play acecombat 6. in the end we will end up by firing 8 ARH missiles and each tracks an own target automaticly. not all that the community comes up with is the best way to go, and only because i state my opinion and do not get along with that mod, does not mean to become unfriendly with the first sentence of a reply i strongly recommend to think about lockon and the facts why things are done and scripted in a certain way from the development team, before changing things and punishing people on servers just because they use real things as far they are possible in a non 100% real sim. if you guys want it more realistic, then you have to get the code and start from scratch. this mod is no solution, sorry, but this is my opinion and i hope that LOCERF will not use it. if you want to improve things then start to improve the radar for the su27 and the mig29. go firther and make it possible to get the TWS working for these birds. and now please GG tharos do not tell me that this is nnot realistic, cause it is and proven. a bullseye function would be handy too. the only thing that sounds good so far is the fact of the groundclutter and low level planes, that thier performance is reduced a bit. cheers no more comments on that topic, i am done with such mods that are nonsence too me. by the way, maybe you guys want to talk to a real pilot then i could ask somebody of our squad if he has time and is willingly to help you guys a bit with some stuff like missile performance -

hi yoda. i read through the first page of this threat and also the pdf files what you guys change and why etc etc. i see your changes as an attempt to get more realism into this sim right? if so, please, the first thing you guys have to do is research alot more then you guys did so far. this is obvious when you read through the changes. just a little example where you are way off. ecm blinking is a real factor. f15e, f16c, f18 and many more do that, as far the automated electronic warfare cpu is active and programmed. to the missles. maddging is one of the most real things in real bvr combat that exists. the new missiles have greater range then for example the f16 can effectivly lock targets, but one thing that you guys should have changed is the flightrange of the r27et. it has the same motor, same body like the r27er, but only makes unguided the half way over ground. this is pathetic in my opinion, an ask the russian guys on exebitions like fairford , the ILA in berlin germany or in paris. both missiles have about the same range, no matter if the ir head can track or not. so sorry, but in my opinion becomes lock on more unrealitic with that mod then it has ever been before. cheers. keep up that work but remember, this way, it becomes more and more an arcade game. damn i am looking forward for the new modules of DCS edit: to the evasive manuevers and the magic barrel rol in a range of 10nm. sorry for my hard words. i know enough about phisics to tell you, that the flightpass of a fast moving, high energy missile will never be able to catch up with the flightpath of a high performance fighter like the mig, the su27 or the f15. the planes travel maybe 25% of the speed of the missile. it has greater wings and can make smaller turns, in comparison to speed, radious of the turn and the most important fact is the g load. sorry but also in real life you will be able to ditch a missle, do to the fact that most of the missiles have a certain g limit before they satrt to break apart and no on board comp of any missile will exceed these limits just to make a chase for a target. lol in some way i have to laugh about this mod. sorry, but it makes my day :-) -

i know that dublication function and also that hint with the texture, thanks, but first i had to check the animations of these nozzls and be sure that they work properly. i will see what i can do about all that stuff. -

lol, thats one thing i do not want to do, cause this will bring up 5 times the flaps of the nozzles which are double right now do to the fact that the eagle has 2 engines there must be a diffrent solution too -

not that i know, this is a special that you have when you work on mods or belong to a little group of the lockon community. i guess not so many day need to pass till the bird is available for everybody greets borchi_2b -
hi guys of the moding group and also ED members. since i am starting to unwarp certain areas of my eagle to make a new step forward, after exactly 1 year of work, i would like to know if it is possible to argumentate textures, which means, can i apply diffrent types of materials ( skinmaterials) at diffrent keys of a certain argumentated animation and will that work afterwords? for example the afterburner has 6 stages in the f15 and one argument for each engine. so for the glow of the AB i would like to put diffrent skins at diffrent keys on to the model, while i make the animation. this is also important for some other animations that have to do with light. i hope to get an answer very soon. maybe as a pm or as a post that does not matter. thanks in advance greetings borchi_2b (aka boom boom)

yes the model is great, i flew it, i tested it, and my last word: AWESOME JOB !!! i hope there is more to come in the future, something like a mig29. you guys have a good feeling for the russian plane, the su27 as such :-) -
as far everything works out, this will be the most beautifull eagle lock on has ever seen. most basic animations are done. for updates we keep a bit silent, cause we want to surprise, sorry for that ingame

@rattler: it makes a huge diffence whe it is stolen, cause the rights are belonging to somebody else. that is law wise the fact if it is stolen. 2nd, if you steal somebodies work, you are liar and when somebody steals your work, after you have put hundreds of hours into a work and somebody steals it, you are close to kill that person. believe me

hmm, but it is strange, that they both are nearly twins. i model for myself, and half way professional, but one thing is sure. you will not find my eagle in any other sim so far then in lockon. this might be just a mattr of time, but this is a fact, that the 2 tomcatzs look very similar. i do not know what i should think about this fact

@Vekkinho: nope the pilot you talk about is not mine. mine is a diffrent one which will only be released with the new f15c i am working on with full force. check it our at http://www.simmoders.com and see for yourself. right now i can only say, that the pilot i have there looks more western then any pilot ever looked in lockon :-) and i also assume that he will be the best looking so far. allready checked it in game :joystick::pilotfly::joystick::D

hi shaggy i have a question, when the gears retract or extract of your gripen, they have to rotate right? do to the airframe they have too :-) how did you manage to make a good wheel rotation? i am nearly done with all the f15 animations but this is one thing i have alot of troube do to the linking and the limitations of the arg based animation. can you help me with that if you found a good way for the animation ? edit: do you allready have a pilot for your model?

simmods f-15, working on the animations right now, and i am also working on some little detail of the eagle to get the last nice extra out of the bird.

Mig-21SMT or -bis Model for LockOn

i saw the kroatian mig21 fly around at the adriatic sea close to istria, the next harbour was pula. every year when i was sailing there, they made fly bys and practised over the sea area. sometimes, during the wars that were going on in that region, we saw f-16 and ea6b prowlers from aviano ab too. once i saw a f16 low level over the sea next to the town pula, or coastline, headding for italy, and we also saw some of the migs do that a couple of times. but the migs never broke the soundbarrier like the f16 did :-) -
we are working on it, and we are also waiting for some response from ed concearning the AB cones. never the less, please be paitent cause there is alot to be done till there is a release date for sure. and we are working on some other stuff at the same time, but that you guys will hear later when the time is right, just one word to it, it is for the community of simmers :-)

ok update for the community, the eagle has been integrated the first time into lockon. it looks awesome. i am producing the animations now and next, after that fits, we will start on the skinning. greetings boom boom

i guess this threat can be closed, cause right now we wrok on the bird and as far i guess new update will be in jan09. depends on the workflow and the trouble shooting we face. maybe, if SKf supports my decision, we close this threat, so that we open a new one when we are close to the finish line. this will be a big surprise for everybody. what do you think SKf? everybody knows where to find urgent update needs.
