I wrote this one up for Shoot 1.6.4 to just radio commands. I just kind of slapped it together. Each phrase is the same that you see when hitting the F menu's. For example you say tower it will send both the \ key and the corresponding F key (I forget it now) to bring up the tower menu. Then you say inbound and it brings up that corresponding F key. So you say "Tower inbound" with a slight delay between the words. It seems to pick ip up pretty well speaking normally though as long as you don't slur the words together. There were a few problems that had to deviate from the commands structure. So to help with that, you could also just say F2 for example to send F2 and so on if it gets stuck. Also I have phrase "two" for wingman 2 as well etc. Rejoin formation didn't work out because it's a differnt F# when sending from the wingman command then the Flight command. So it's just "rejoin" = F8 to send to a wingman and "rejoin formation" = F7 to send to the flight. Datalink is hard for it to understand sometimes, and "point " just will not be recognized no matter how I spell it. So it's just "datalink" =F3 for datalink point and "data target" = F9 for datalink target. I have it set as push and hold the button to transmit. But it's programmed to button 21 on my throttle which is on my device 1. You would have to modify this with whatever you want to activate it. I also have it set to make mic clicks. So hopefully you have those wave files or that might need to be changed as well. Just copy and paste whats below into notepad and save as an .xml document. Hopefully your somewhat familiar with shoot profiles to get it working and this might save you some time. But if you need some help to modify things, let me know.

I haven't used Steam in years, so yes I forgot my password, and it didn't recognize my email address. So I tried to open another account. It wouldn't let me. I tried to open a ticket. No reponse. I'm not loosing sleep over it though. I don't need Steam. They can keep it. So no compairison to my bank account. I'm glad your happy with thier service. Just wait until you have an issue, and remember that. I'm not sure what you can't seem to understand here. I can't log in without knowing my password. I can retrieve my password if my email is not recognized. I can't even start a new account! So how am I supposed to log in to buy a game if I can't get my old info, start a new account, or get any support? You can install Steam on another directory. I never said that you couldn't. But as in my case when I filled up my hard drive, and needed to install a new game on another hard drive (different directory) it doesn't allow it. You have to move everything over. Maybe they finally changed that. I don't know since I haven't had it on my machine for over two years. I'm not making excuses for anything but reasons why I hate Steam. I would have waited to buy the hard copy if BS was only released on that Steam pile of $#|t. You should just wait for it to be released on Steam if your such a fan of it.

Thanks for setting me straight. Makes sense. At least the speed difference is what makes my model coaxle helo turn. But your explanation sounds more logical and more responsive. At least I was right about the rudder though.

I hate games on Steam. Every stream game has to be under the same directory or HD. Plus I tried to recently buy a game on steam and I couldn't find my old user info. Thus lost everything. No support hardly if any. I couldn't even start a new account to purchase a new game. Opened a ticket and haven't heard squat. I'll never buy another steam game. To much hassle if you should have a problem. Why give them anything when you could buy direct?

Did a search but still have a TIR problem

Yea, great to hear. What about FixerOhio?? Did you get yours sorted out? -
Just to set the record straight. The rudder itself doesn't have hardly any effect at all in a hover. You need to have forward movement to give airflow over the rudder to make it effective. What turns a co-axle helicopter in a hover is one rotor turns faster then the other. The rudder pedals contol both this feature and the actual rudder on the tail at the same time.

If you got it glowing blue and a green light, you might want to check your hotkeys in trackIR BS profile. Make sure they aren't conflicting with something in the game. See if you can use the default keys to pause (yellow light) while your in the game. If it's not giving you the yellow light, then BS must be over riding the TrackIR command. If that's the case, for testing purposes, you could try assigning it to a key that isn't being used for BS. I know that might be hard to find, but you can also use joystick buttons. You could make a backup profile in BS and clear out a key and then assign your trackIR key to that one and then test it. I'm assuming you can see your head move while looking at the BS profile in TrackIR software? You might also want to try to switch your BS profile to always on. -

Make sure you see the Black Shark profile in TrackIR software and that you set the proper reflector type in the Black shark profile for Pro clip etc. Also does the TrackIR light up blue when you start the game? If so is the other indicator light red, yellow or green? If it's not glowing blue when you start the game, TrackIR is not seeing the game and it would seem theres a problem with the TrackIR Black shark profile or it's missing. If it is glowing blue and the other light is red, it sees the game but there's some other problem. If yellow, it's paused. If it's green, it's probably something with Black Shark. -
In the game itself you can assign modifiers. So in combination to what ever modifier you use, you can almost have an unlimited amount of commands for your hat if you wanted to go that route. I did however do something very simular to what you did here though long ago with Warbirds online because I only had a 4 way hat then and wanted corner views. I think I wound up with 16 views out of a 4 way hat with help of only one modifier button. It worked out pretty good.
-
Ok, then you could maybe use your joystick itself with a modifier button to control the Shkval if it's assignable under an axis? If this works you won't have collective control when you do this, but you should be pretty stable when your messing with the Shkval anyways. I'm not sure if this is possible, and that the collective would be disabled while your holding the modifier button to do this, but it's just a thought.
-
I know with my Cougar you can program all sorts of stuff if you know how. Maybe not the route one would want to mess with right away, but you could theoretically program the corner hat positions with maco's to send alternating left hat/down hat in in millisecond intervals to replicate diagonal directional control.

I have trackIR too. The only issue I have is I lose zoom on my middle mouse wheel when clickable mouse is activated. To get around this, I programmed my middle mouse button (not wheel) to ctrl+c. It works out well.
-
You could use mouse look if you didn't have TrackIR to replicate the same process using the HMS couldn't you? I have TrackIR too, and haven't tried it, but there's no reason why that shouldn't work the same. Maybe you could program your mouse with a modifier to actually control the Shkval? I don't remember if it's programable under the axises. I'm able to get on target just fine with only 4 directions. So for me it doesn't seem that critical.

You can fly one yourself if you get one of these MCX's. I bought one for my brother for X-mas. It flies great! Very easy to fly and with precision. It simply spins one rotor faster then the other to achieve direction.
-
I had a pair too that came with a video card. They took some tinkering but once you had them set up right they worked great. I did get some frame rate drop, but it wasn't enough to stop me from using them. I used to fly WWII Fighters with them and the plane looked like it was literally comming out of the screen. But I could only wear them maybe a half hour at a time. Not so much from eye strain, but more ear strain because I wore them under a headset. Some games with overlays didn't work out too well. But being Lockon doesn't have them this shouldn't be a problem. I do remember having some issues with IL2 getting them to work, although other people were able to. They really did make some games look awesome, but they also did get uncomfortable. I missed having them, but I didn't rush out to buy another set when I changed video cards.

Maybe due to the large wing pods and duel rotor setup?
-
Did you enter 000 in that code they ask for? If you don't, your transaction will not complete. It doesn't say so right on the main form page you fill out, you have to click the question mark next to the box you enter 000 to bring up a pop up window that tells you this. I believe that box is for European customers only and in the U.S. you enter 000 there or it will fail.
-
If I'm not mistaken, believe that means your putting a heavy load on your rotors or something dealing with your throttle. I have my engine throttle (not collective) assigned to a rotory knob on my hotas. If I increase the throttle fast by turning the knob even when sitting on the ground with a full tank, I get that warning. If I increase it slowly, I don't get it.

If BS doesn't support dual processors in XP, do you think should I turn hyperthreading ( I believe that what simulates dual processors) off on my old Pent 4 3.2? To be honest, I've never noticed any difference in performance with anything whether it's on or off.

multi monitor picture request !
JDski replied to hannibal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm using full screen and Zorlacs lua file. But for some reason I get this blue backround covering 2/3 of the screen in the backround on the second monitor. Any idea why I get this blue backround? The first image is without the Shkval and ABRIS up like after you crash. If you look closely you can see part of the loading splashscreen right where the black and blue meet. -
I figured there were notes already out there, but I knew it wouldn't hurt to make my own to help me get it down. Thanks for the link.
-
Thanks Dachs, I haven't made a profile in a long time. This tip will make it easier to get started until I feel ready to make a full blown profile.
-
I did this last night myself. I also took notes. But it seems some of the keyboard commands in the tutorial are not accurate or I may need to recheck my notes or compair the key commands to what I have in my setup and make changes. There is also a different cold start up video in the files section to download. However this is not quite as easy to follow as the tutorial as it doesn't have notes, and the cursor dissaprears in the video often, so it gets hard sometimes to follow what where he clicking. Attached my notes from the tutorial. Maybe someone can spot something that is inaccurate. KA-50 Accelerated Startup Procedures.doc

I programmed my mouse wheel to send "C+LAlt" when I push it. That way I can zoom, press the middle wheel, then have the clickable funtion. It works out pretty good until this is fixed.

No doubt this would work, but the problem with that is he would need to write a whole profile for his Cougar to work with BS. He and I will probably want to do that someday, but this can become quite a cascading job that can take some time. As far as I remember, once you run your Cougar in profile mode as opposed to windows mode, your buttons will no longer be recognized if you had set them up in BS running your Cougar in windows mode.
