I would love to see the 6DOF cockpit allow for a little more forward lean. As it is right now I can't lean in to see my instruments very well. I always have to resort to using zoom.

It would be nice if ED would add the option for ground crew to add the NVGs like some of the other modules. We could either have HMD day time or HMD NVGs, but not both. Unless it is something the pilot could add while flying.

As far as I know the HMD does work with NVGs. It overlays the HMD image into the NVGs. However the visor would need to be removed first and an NVG mount added. I don't think it can be done easily on the fly though. This is from some online sources and advertising I have found, so take with a grain of salt.

It takes about 1.5 min to get Nav Ready flashing when using the stored heading mode. Technically it is a degraded alignment mode but I don't think it makes a difference in DCS.

There is also the fast alignment/alt alignment option in the CDU.

You can also use LALT + Y to cycle the coordinate type in F10.

So I was flying the Mig last night and wanted to jettison my stores before landing, but it seems as if only the cover is clickable now. I tried moving my head position and used both left and right click but only the covers would operate. The keyboard commands still work however.

So since I first posted this thread I have shot down hundreds of Gazelle Mistrals online, and have seen this issue hundreds more times. I have also flown the Gazelle Mistral and been shot down a few dozen times, and have taken no deaths on the scoreboard a few dozen more times. I have also talked to other players who I play with, and they have seen the same thing. For instance I shot one down just last night with an AMG65F from my Hornet, and what do you know no kill. He then respawned and I shot him yet again with and AGM65F about 30 seconds later. This time I got a kill since he was on the ground. During this same match I shot down 2 more Gazelles. One was an M and the other a Mistral. Both died to an AIM9X and again no kills on the board. The issue seems to be that when the Gazelle is vaporized it does not kick the (player name here) pilot is dead/has crashed event. Maybe it is something else, I can only guess as to the reason based on what I see.

Have you turned it on? The button is behind the stick just under the MPCD. Also once it is on you need to box HUD on the EW page of the DDI or MPCD, whichever you are using for the EW page. This will show RWR contacts on the HUD.

In DCS multiplayer you can indeed turn the radar off, and ARM will miss. It's done quite often on the DDCS server.

I understand pilots can be killed like that. I have it happen all the time in the 18 where the screen just goes to a 3rd person view of me spinning in. But in this case it looks like the hypoxia effect and your screen gets blurry and fades to black. One time I even kept flying and heard my RWR go off in the black screen and was hit again. Then all of a sudden my vision was back and I ejected. So clearly I was not dead. Also I have many other mods and none of them do this. I guess we need a mask on/off then because this last time I was hit the airplane was fully capable of flying home if I had not blacked out.

Why does the pilot lose consciousness after being hit by a missile sometimes? I will be well below 10k and sometimes after a missile hit I can still fly but will black out. The effect is the same effect used to represent hypoxia, but the onset is within like 5 seconds of the hit. There have been times where my aircraft is still air worthy but my pilot decides to hold his breath until he passes out.

I wonder if they will add the need for the ground crew to change the device. IRL you either have the JHMCS visor or the NVGs.

I see the sale price on Steam, however PG and the F18 are not 25% off as advertised. Instead they are only 20% off. Everything else is as advertised so I wonder why ED wants us to pay more for PG and the F18 on Steam?

So the video said it would be 25% off PG and the F18, but it is only 20% off right now on Steam. Is this a typo ED or do Steam users get screwed?

So I play a lot on the DDCS multiplayer server, and it often ends with the last 45 minutes at night. Well knowing this I equip my NVGs and start flying. Eveything seems to be working fine until all of a sudden I'm blinded by a laser beam shooting across the ground. I have not been able to ascertain exactly what is causing this, but everyone else in the server can see it too. My guess is it has something to do with JTAC lasers, although I have seen them working correctly at the same time these beams were visible. At times there are multiple beams shooting across the land. You can even fly through them and they are two dimensional. Also at some ranges they disappear until you zoom in. These beams make doing anything within their vicinity near impossible with NVGs on. I have some screen shots but am not sure how to post them. I hope ED can get this fixed soon. Edit: Here are the screens.

Will the buttons and switches ever be animated on the HOTAS?

NP, the middle mouse button (click the scroll wheel) should default to swapping between interact with cockpit and look/lean. You have to double click it to lean and move forward and back.

What I do is just remember where the buttons are and click through the caution and advisory lights. Also if I need to move my head I just double click the middle mouse button to lean left or right.

This stall behavior seems quite unrealistic to me. I wonder if this is intended by RAZBAM or just another bug? I would imagine that with the amount of forward speed an instantaneous spin like that would be quite hard to get into. It's like the vertical stab provides zero stability in this situation. If the harrier could enter a spin like this you would think the airplane would break apart at such a high speed. If I stay below 450KIAS it tends to survive most of the time.

I noticed this a patch or two ago, but if you pull pitch and roll at the same time until you start to shake and then quickly recenter the stick the airplane will go into a violent spin. I have not tested it in a while so it may be fixed. Okay I just retested this and it still happens. Here is a video I just made, is this the issue you have?

Ya but if the aircraft has been moved since the last alignment then the stored heading would be incorrect. Funny thing is that I have shut down and repaired my airplane and stored heading alignment is not an option upon restarting the aircraft. It seems to only work when that option is selected.

Another issue seems to be the ability to bypass an alignment by going straight to gyro and back to IFA. Waypoints and markpoints won't work for about 3 min until the IFA is done, but you will get all hud symbology including velocity vector and other systems that would rely on the INS. Also as far as I know IFA should take up to 10 min while flying or moving but it seems to take only 3 no matter the situation. At this point inputting correct INS initial POS or even waiting to move before it is done is an act of masochism. I really wish the devs would acknowledge these issues, because I'm afraid if they don't we will never see them fixed. This is EA and what is the point of EA if members of the community report bugs or issues and no one from the development team listens or chimes in if said issues are not bugs? How are we to know if our issues are being looked into? The out of EA by the end of the year timeline I have heard mentioned seems like a long shot unless the plan is to stick us with a broken unfinished product. I hope this timeline is extended for the sake of all owners of this module. With that being said I do love this module and hope RAZBAM makes it as awesome as I know it can be.

This seems like it would be an easy fix. Did Poly Chop abandon this module?
