104th Phoenix - Operation Longbow - Dynamic PvP Mission
naizarak replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
in general most multiplayer servers have easy comms disabled, meaning you need to have your radios tuned to the correct frequencies and then use the appropriate radio (in multi-radio aircraft) to initiate contact. on the ground with the cockpit open you can reach the ground crew through any radio interface as an abstraction for direct speech. also if i remember correctly the "\" radio menu doesn't work in flight without easy comms for the hornet -
it was stated multiple times that jhcms was planned for release by the end of the month along with other minor things. look it up for yourself
-
they stated a release date and failed to meet it, it is what it is. no need to go through mental gymnastics to defend them

same, but you can just use the browser version. iirc it doesn't require registration either -
nice to see HB taking their time to release a quality product from day-1 instead of playing the early access charade like some other devs. if it needs to be delayed then so be it
-
why thank them for a demo it's just marketing

another month another razbam module

errors indicate memory exhaustion or more likely an issue with the paging file. make sure you reset any custom paging file tweaks or "optimizations" -
Track Hat /OpenTrack Profile for DCS F/A-18
naizarak replied to marcelbrabson's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
unfortunately sharing profiles isn't very useful as each person's best config will depend on a number of variables, such as camera, tracking device, angle, distance, ambient light, etc. there are some general tips that i use every time i have to reconfigure: 1. make sure the camera is level and centered with the LED's 2. make sure you have entered accurate model dimensions 3. calibrate model position by rolling your head a couple of times across your maximum range of motion (only yaw and pitch axes, no roll). make sure you don't physically shift your head. the yellow cross will now be placed in the center of your head which serves as the static pivot point. for a cap this should be below your middle LED 4. finally test for LED overlap in all 4 corners. with a cap you would experience overlapping LED's when yawing. the solution is to make the LED spots as small and distinct as possible, which can be accomplished by tweaking the camera's exposure/sensitivity settings and physically moving the camera farther away from the LED's. if you have a PS3 eye you can also play around with the 2 FOV settings and resolutions. personally i use the narrow (red dot) FOV and 640x480 res @ 75hz -

IMO this could be the best dynamic server by a mile, but the symmetrical aircraft availability is a fatal flaw, and it ruins authenticity and gameplay. aircraft make and model is one of the most, if not the most, important determinants of CID. mixing them up nullifies that entire aspect of air combat and situational awareness. the end result is players parroting buddy spike in every engagement until they get tired of it and start assuming information, or metagaming by peeking the scoreboard to track each faction's aircraft usage. hopefully when the f14 comes out it can become a redfor exclusive which would probably balance the factions both qualitatively and quantitatively -
Hello, I'm curious if there's a way to use 1 key for zooming in and out as a toggle. To elaborate, I currently use "Zoom In" and "Zoom normal" with 2 different keys, but I would like to have them both bound to the same key(space for example). Is there a mod or lua config I can change to allow this? Thanks.

try opentrack it's better than ftnoir
-
dang looks like the map stops just north of los angeles county. wish i could've seen my house from DCS
-
freetrack and noir are both outdated. opentrack is a MUCH better solution
-
looks great

i'd personally prefer more modern modules, but considering that ww2 planes are significantly easier to simulate i don't see why people are complaining. ww2 plane development probably doesn't detract from other modules all that much that said, i don't understand why they charge full price for ww2 content. also wraith would you care to stop spamming gifs

Future DCS performance ATI/Nvidea
naizarak replied to 159th_Falcon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
if you guys are on the fence between upgrading to AMD/nvidia, just do yourselves a favor and get nvidia. the hardware is comparable(in raw performance), but nvidia has traditionally provided better software support and more mature drivers i can say from personal experience that AMD is leaps and bounds behind nvidia in that department -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

i've wondered why BMS just doesn't port, or rebuild, the f16 in dcs. they'd have a modern platform to work with, integration into a larger universe and playerbase, not to mention they'd actually get paid -
op hit the nail on the head. after cashing in on the dayz craze, BIS just took a nosedive as a developer. arma 3 is a joke and it's pretty pathetic how much they rely on the modding community to practically build their game for them(without any sort of monetary compensation). i was also an ardent arma fan but 3 made me stop playing i'd love to see enhanced vehicles (my dream is steel beast integration into DCS), but i don't see how infantry could fit in. the engine and game just aren't on the scope of infantry-level gameplay i've been holding off buying combined arms until they actually flesh out the module, we'll see what happens. but in the end dcs is a flight sim, and that's most important

104th's server. it's not a massive issue as you can simply use the score list to see players, but still problematic as inadvertently pressing esc can randomly kick you out of your plane
-
Sometimes when I press ESC to check the game lobby, I get randomly kicked out of my current plane slot and placed into one at the top of the list, effectively ending my play session. Is anyone familiar with this problem, or how to fix it?
-
yes i've also noticed that f15 roll response is extremely fast. i had to town down my roll axis to compensate, plane was basically uncontrollable otherwise

hi, im new to dcs multi and wondering if there's a way to spectate the game without playing? i sit in the spectator list in lobby, but none of the camera keys seem to do anything. does dcs multi just not have spectating, or maybe your server has it disabled? (or maybe i'm doing something wrong)
