Hmm, what if the community starts working really hard, and we all save up enough $$$ to buy a used Ka-50 with the warfare carp gutted out of it. Nah, somebody would get killed by other members because you can't fire an AMRAAM from the ka-50 :|

Well, in this photo all the warnings say 'Warning, carbon plastic', so I guess so. There are also pics from his blog that show the Mig-29KUB in an unpainted state, the rear parts and all the moving parts are made out of carbon fibre (black). http://pilot.strizhi.info/photos/v/MAKS-2007/17_08/IMG_6790_sm.jpg.html His blog is the best ever, it even shows pics of the combined Chinese-Russian excercise, 'peaceful mission', and features photos of a UAZ from hell :P Seriousely, that thing looks evil. http://pilot.strizhi.info/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/img_5017_sm.jpg ^UAZ from hell

More similar to the Su-25UB ;) The su-25UTG is considered underpowered and not a good carrier aviation training asset, because of the long engine response times, low angles of attack and the visibility for the instructor. The UTG is basically a su-25UB with a carrier strengthened landing gear, a hook and corrosion prevention measures. This plane will be replaced by the Su-27KUB, which will probably also replace the Su-33 due to its advanced avionics and better handling characteristics. And remember the Su-33 is already agile as hell. In lockon I've landed every flyable in existance, but not the A-10 IIRC, the Hog was way too slow :P. Landing the Su-25(T) in lomac: line-up with the ski jump ramp, then slow down to 280 kph, full flaps, gear down. About 700m from the deck threshold cut the throttles, extend airbrakes. When nearing the deck threshold (~30-50m to go) extend the brake chute. Then after landing, apply wheel brakes and you'll be more than fine. In fact, if you try really hard you might even stop before the ramp begins. Oh, all this with a maximum fuel load of 40%, 20% recommended. And, don't scare your passengers with the take-off :P

I encourage every visitor to try and make BS crash by doing something crazy. Hey, you can ban me for saying that, OR, this is the ultimate beta test, so your final product will be better for all to enjoy :) Go Ka-50 Bort 25 (that's the one that's moddles, right?)

No kreuger flaps on the single seat version? And they used the twin seat cockpit, so basically it's the same airframe? Man, I checked his blog, but thought this was a twin seat version. Same effect as those pics with girls and something in the background, this time with the ejection seat though :P Man, I read the description about Vlassov showing off the -K, thought this was the twin seat, but with a paint job. Man, so the Mig-29K for India is really a new airframe, wow. Now it looks like a mini Su-27K, awesome. I saw these pics yesterday, but forgot about them since. Oh well, lets hope we'll see lots of high-res videos of this baby in action at MAKS-2007 :)

That sir is awesome. Also notice that you don't hear a 'whoosh' sound like in lomac, just a pop, and after that the missile is getting over Mach 1 pretty quick (7700N of thrust), do the math. So no glorious swoosh, but there is some pretty nice vibration afterwards, that is lomac-esque. Now only if we can find the original file for frame-by-frame analysis. Laugh if you want, that's what I do when I see real time ejection videos, pretty sick if you ask me, but heck, all to discover if those sequencing specs are really what they are on paper.

The Su-25T will explode when you are hit AGAIN, AFTER you already shut down the burning engines. You get one chance to extinguish the engines, and that's realistic, as with a second hit the damage may become greater, exposing fuel tanks. It's not that it's a one time thing, it's a recurring annoyance, not being able to save the plane after a puny stinger hit you. The Su-25T can, so why not the Su-25? I don't see any reason why the Su-25T should be able to make a glide home and the su-25A explode. FFS, this is about the su-25's engine moddeling, make your own thread for the F-15 tws and aim-120 whining :(

Black Shark Update, 16 September 2007

A stupid and IMHO not needed feature that I'm interested about: Is it possible to do an emergency erase of ABRIS data, like after a crash landing. I know, totally unneccessary in a sim, just curious. -
It might be some modification of the Su-25T that prevented such thing from occuring (fuel cutoff valves), but then again, why isn't it on the Su-25, that thing has armored nacelles and aluminium plates between the engines. It's no whining, just curiosity towards the subject, maybe ED did model it right. But since we don't have fire extinguishers the only option remains CTRL+EEE, and I love doing emergency landings in the Su-25T. Heck, I bet I have thousands of flight hours on the 25T doing no engine/gear/wing/nose/tail landings and walinkg away from them (not flying ;))

In FC the engines of the Su-25 always casue an explosion, that is after being on fire. Not matter what I do: shut down both engines, dump all fuel. I always end up scattered over a large area of the Crimea penninsula, that is the Su-25A blows up. In the Su-25T however, if I shut down a burning engine, it will stop burning (no fuel, no fire). So, why isn't that the case with the vanilla Su-25? P.S. 6x R-77 on the Mig-29S as well.

Lockon feud: 25T pilots call A10 pilots a noobs
Force_Feedback replied to mcnab's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Speaking about the vanilla Su-25A, can we have the same engine fire moddeling as on the Su-25T, I get sick of blowing up after shutting down both engines. The vanilla Su-25A (post Ghanistan) have sufficient armor to not blow up after a Stinger hit. Yet in lomac the engine always keeps on flaming, even after everything is shut down, and you're flying an overweight glider. -
How does the rep system work?

I have a question too, why does Yoda not talk like Yoda should? :chair: -

Rep you all, this thread is vague -
Close enough? Not being able to do exactly what you discribe? You can lock with RADAR ON, you can lock with EOS ON, you can lock with both EOS and RADAR on, BUT, you can't lock WITHOUT EITHER the EOS or RADAR ON. When you try to lock with the seeker head itself, ie WITHOUT EOS/RADAR. This is possible, and is the primary mode with the HMS, but not in lomac.
-
no u cant without either radar or EOS, try switching them off, u cant get a lock that way :( This makes the r73 useless in lomac ps im totally drunk and stoned

You do realise that detection by slewable missile seeker has never been implemented in lockon before, so what does make you think they will do that for BS? Okay, so while ED is at it, why not remove the bombs from the weapon loadout, the 23mm pods, all other rockets besides the 80mm and the Vikhr, as real service choppers fly with V-80 blocks and fuel tanks... Better yet, why not simulate the addition of maintenance costs, and taking that into account before you lift off, so one day you have one Vikhr and some 80mm rockets, while the other you barely have money to pay for the fuel inside those external fuel tanks. Operational realism, operational realism... Just say as things are, ie we don't know how Igla-V is supposed to work, we don't want to add the ejection charge (it says 'pop' first, then the missile shoots out, and only then the main engine starts), we don't want to research wether the seeker is slewable with the HMS, we don't have the time to add something that may only be fittited under hypothetical circumstances. But don't give us the 'it's not in service, tada' excuse.

It features the Kh-59MK K as in Kommercheskiy, as in commercial.

That brochure is freaky, I see something blinking above the number 26 in the 'factory targeting' display. The OLS has a range of 50km head on, cool

Will it also explode on misfires?
