MiG-29 cannon test (GSh-30-1)
Force_Feedback replied to Kusch's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Unless they start building some sort of electromagnetic resonant barrier around the plane, so you'll have a jammer and bullet defelction shield. And probably some sci-fi power plant on board. And then bullets will be made out of composites :P -
Whineraam, aim whine, whinedar are all moddled wrong, and Russki planes and weapons are all realistic, because I know, I've read the real manuals, so I know... [/cliche Western-only fanboism]

differences between Mig29S and Mig29"M"?

Handles, ejection seat handles :p -
LO model viewer runs at...1 fps ??
Force_Feedback replied to Majesco's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I also experience the same strange slowdowns in lomac's mission editor when viewing the model of either a highly detailed aircraft (F-18, F-16) or a plane that has a custom skin installed. The first mission gives me normal fps, but as soon as a skinned plane either crashes or is shot down the fps drops to 3 in game, where it was 65 beforehand. I suspect this has something to do wit cdds skins and their conversion either to or from that format. Any known solutions? -
MiG-29 cannon test (GSh-30-1)

30mm as well, and only 46 kg, no Vulcan or DEFA can match that. Great weapon design. -
And the JF-17, the Gripen, Mig-35 don't have high tech equipment? I'm sure that it's just a case of hype from one side (f-16 good, come on, it's good enough, but it's no star) and too little infromation from the other, especially the Chinese and Russian corner of cheap multirole aircraft sold to unstable nations. I'm still biased to say that it depends on where you live and with whom your country deals with. I'm sure the salesmen from Lockheed Martin agree, given their very probably and recent debacle with the Indian Air Force. No, polished hub caps won't convince a country to buy F-16s, it's usually politics and clandestine deals (a courtesy of our beloved Lockheed).

That's BS -
Feature list for Black Shark
Force_Feedback replied to Yellonet's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Maybe some optical (laser) system? I know it was tested on the Su-27, maybe it has been adapted to some Ka-50 variety, but I'm not sure the ones in service have it. I'm pretty sure they don't actually, considering the prototypes are like 15 years ahead of the few that are in service today. -

AFM for the Vikhr missile only, other missiles have updated models, but are still using standard flight models. A question, will we have some kind of battlefield datalink betweeen ka-50s? -
Kapustin Yar-Russian SAM exercise
Force_Feedback replied to Kusch's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yeah, and I thought you meant that black cloth-thing. Cool to see them practice against ground based targets as well. I could never believe the Falanga was used as a real air defence target, but it seems that thing can gain quite some altitude. -

It's not a radar wave deflector, his description says it's a dummy Tor, but I think he meant Buk There's even a Tunguska M2 out there. -
lol, ejection moddeling is a joke in lomac, especially seat performance wise. But there is no master arm for the seat, not in lomac at least.
-
Hey, we should spread the word that it is a hoax, otherwise there might be people who think that it's a real aircraft, and not someone's fantasy.
-
It's a hoax, yes really, same goes for that laser rifle that even made it into 'reliable' literature :(
-
That's strange, can you describe what you did to your install, maybe some mod is causing this.

OT: Indian MRCA tender is out!
Force_Feedback replied to tflash's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I dare not speculate on the moddability of the Mig-29, but since the Mig-35 is basically a gutted and severely moified airframe, I don't think it would be cheap to convert vanilla migs into 35s. Also keep in mind that airframes have a limited service life. -
None of the Russian pylons have any pyrotechnics, planes are explosive enough as they are, so that's why the AKU-pylons use nitrogen pressure and the others just launch the ordnance. Basically the same way as you would launch a missile, no emergency jettison mechanisms with cartridges or explosive bolts on those. Kind of finger-friendly :P The ET and R-73 do have modes for them to work when the cooling bottle is empty or some defect made the seeker cooler inoperative, but they still require for the seeker to lock the target. The only Russian A-A heat seekers with LOAL are the R-73RDM2 (the backward firing one) and the R-74, aka the R-73M with a focal plane array, 90 degree desigation limit and 120 degree off-bore seeker limit. The ET is an obsolete missile, designed for shooting down fleeing aircraft, but with no standoff/offensive capabilities because of the IR seeker and lack of datalink and high res IR array.
-
I know that anti IR seekers on the real su-27 you have to disable the afterburner (it's a toggle on the real one) and enable the 2 flare dispersing program.

There are even organisations that support the cultivation of poppy plants down there, they say so the people can afford to grwo real crops, what a bag of bull. Let the NATO allies chime in and napalm the poppy fields. But noooo, real drugs aren't important, is stead they're going after weed plantations, and no one ever got addicted to weed or die of an overdose from it, so go figure. :disgust: Are there videos of Soviet planes getting hit by Stingers? I remember hat at the beginning (first few months) the Mujahadeen were quite succesful at damaging and bringing down Soviet aircraft.

Can F-16 do this? I don't think so :D
Force_Feedback replied to Kusch's topic in Military and Aviation
How about trees growing on and from buildings ;) Have you ever seen the rocks on a Russian runway, man, it would rain F-16s at the end of that runway. -
Can we have realistic FMs for the planes first, all the other things are secondary. You can have all the head movement and other gizmos, and end up with a new Falcon 4 kind of road, where you have all the mods and tweaks, but as soon as you stall everything goes whoops.
-
It's not made in the US, and that makes certain members of te community turn all sarcastic and narrow minded, oh wait, it's a circle of... Nevermind Well, the Iranians came make something, nicely done, the more different plane types out there the better :) It does look dated though, but then again, the Yak-130 looks stealthy, but is not, the Eurofighter looks like something out of the late seventies but is quite modern. Looks are looks, what's on the inside is what matters.

Can we finally heave freakin ejection seats? Too bad they don't have afm

So 'hackers' can continue using exploits without the admins being aware of it? Great thinking, this approach might get us extinct as a race. Now, holding back things will eventually bite the online community in its collective behind. Not that I care, If I wanted I could have virtually unlimited weapons, even with them having the official weight, it's all about proportions in lomac and meint rigging ;) But seriousely, cheaping in a flight sim is as pathetic as cheating in any kind of multiplayer game that has some 'equal standards' in mind. It's a goddamn game people, it might make you feel better by cheating, but eventually, this all are just switches flipping fronm 1 to 0 and so on. No matter how good you are in lomac, it cannot, and any substantial way compare to real flying, weapon moddeling, and real simulators for that matter. This is not a pun on lomac, just remember that this is a game, and not a real simulator that costs 100000s $ and is aimed at simulating as many variables as possible. Don't you think it's pathetic to cheat a goddamn game, I mean come on, you play online because you want real oponnents, and if you do so, you may have some decency and respect towards others. Or do you 'hackers' too cheat when having to roll dice, play poker with friends, play chess, reading a book? I agree you should be allowed to mod the game in any way you like, heck, you want a 80:1 thrust to weight ratio, have it, be my guest, as long as both sides have some kind of standards in terms of payload, macro use and all other grey areas of online play. This all online, again: online, OFFline you can do whatever you want, make a USS Enterprise-E with warp drive, make photon torpedoes, just don't use them if the oponnent is flying a vanilla F-15C. This is a game, and rules are needed, then there should be people that will follow them, unless they have problems with it, if so, then they should use the boards to contact the admins and ask, if not convince to include their liking in the official server rules. So if a server says heaters only, don't show up with AIM-54Cs, if you do, then you deserve a ban, if you have a dynamic IP and keep on returning, well, unfortunately in such cases only human intervention can help. Some kind of Meint explorer can be added, so a server can post the needed files, or modifications to the Meint and others if ED won't allow direct distribution. That way online gamers just have to choose a set of parameters, made specifically for the server they want to play on, so you can switch from 'server 1' profile, with its fantastic F-15 with 50 aim-120 stations and Su-27s flying at Mach 5, to 'server 2' with its conservative engine thrust values and R-27R and Aim-7 equipped fighters.

Oh, phew, that 20 year old plane is still a work of art.
