Nothing wrong with the missile, only its shelf life, which is by now exceeded almost 2 times. Or do you think that an AMRAAM that is 20 years old will perform better. SARH does not equal bad or old, just no need to build expensive transmitters. The first shot capability of the R-27ER still makes it a potent missile, nothing bad about it, it's just that ARH can do everything it can, but the last seconds of flight the carrier can turn around and extend the distance to the enemy. Not that you can fire an ARH from 50km, turn away and hope for a kill, that only works in Falcon and Lockon.
-
And what makes you think that, some previous life in another dimension?
-
Yes, but nobody knows how it exactly works, but so can the Su-27 with ordinary R-27ERs.
-
aim-7 becomes aim 007, like the weorld known British secret agent, 007 can also be interpreted as 0.007 or 0.07 for probability, hence the Probability of a kill with a single aim-7 is ~0.07 of 1.00
-
with aim-007, oh wait, that's the Pk

lol It's for those nights when you're in no condition to fly, then you still have a bike to get your drunk ass home. -
That's a Kh-29TE, R-27ER, R-27R, R-73 and the wee bomb has no active radar warhead, so it doesn't count.

OT: Indian MRCA tender is out!
Force_Feedback replied to tflash's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yes, but then the mig has some custom-made optics and launch/illumination detectors. How about the databus in the Eurofighter? The one in the mig has a 600 mbit throughput, this leaves it with sufficient growth potential (not having to rewire and recertify the wiring). The EF has more hardpoints, better engines, and canards. The mig has familiarity with the techs, a domestic engine assembly line, lower recertification costs for the pilots and is capable of carrying existing munitions without modifications. Again, I think the Indians will go for the Mig, even though it's becoming the next F-15; old airframe with lots of upgrades. Maybe the Russians will start making new fighters after they got enough orders, this upgrade routine is getting old, and so are the designs. But maybe a 60 year old airframe will be normal in 30 years, who knows, we already have B-52s, Tu-95s, Mig-21s, F-1s, F-4s and various others still flying out there. I heard that Albania still has the Mig-17 flying on active duty :P -
L-range antenna, probably made for the PAK-FA, bye bye stealth. Oh, give it to the Russians to do some serious outside the box thinking. I'm sure LM will offer AESA all along the surface edges, that way you have a flying radar dish. In any case, this is probably the reason stealth technology is no longer paramount in aircraft development. But still, support counts, and F-22s will always invade airspaces withe AWACS and UAV support, so even if some African country buys the Su-35 with all the bells and whistles, the F-22s will konw where it is. And the poor Su-35 will get whooped anyway, doesn't matter if it sees the 150 mil. $ plane or not.

The Ka-50 Black Shark thread

'deadly' also fits that description :/ Kind of ironic that the only 'in-service' chopper with ejection seats has like 4 fatalities and 0 ejection attempts. Blade clash is deadly, that's why I'm a bit surprised that Bell/Boeieng/LM want to make some kind of high speed co-axial prop driven heli with a very small distance between both rotors. I hope it remained at a concept stage, otherwise that thing is going to be the new carbon-fibre widow maker. -

Hmmm, the Eurofighter would be the best aircraft of those, but it may lack the infrastructure needed for operation in India, that and the Russian lobby will probably make the Mig-35 the winner. It also has a more advanced radar and more modern avionics. Plus, they already have experience with the type. My Bet is on the Mig-35, even though the EF is a better aircraft (higher class) -
I'd like to believe that, but, as their claim of realism... Well, just remember Crashday, realism this, realism that. And when it came out it was gay-ass arcade crap. So, Carmageddon 2 still has the best crash physics of all racing games. almost 10 years down the line and they still haven't reinvented the wheel, crash damage wise. Really pathetic, imagine what could be done with current day programming tech.

[help] the power of the landmine?
Force_Feedback replied to ssunwwolf's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
mcnab, open Meint.xml with notepad, then CTRL+A, then DEL, then type 'IAMTHEONE', save it, boot up lomac and enjoy. Oh, how fun it is to pick on noobs, yaaay, you feel really great that you know all the key combos to a damn computer game :P But anyway, landmines seem not to be working, and often indestructable too, because they're just below ground somehow. So it's the mine not going off, not the vehicle being piloted by Darth Vader or something. -
500 mil for a 50 year old refurbished rustbucket with stone age jet engines that produce thrust by expelling unburnt fuel? I'd say a huge rip-off, no more than 20 mil for such a flying museum piece. Is this part of the 'Moscow is for people from Moscow, and Russia is for Russians' kind of mentallity that it deserven enough press coverage to appear all over the world? Go ahead, make your city expensive, you still don't get the service for your money, so why bother? Instead you can go to, let's say Dubai, get all the stuff you wanted, and still have 5 mil to either wipe your ass with it or burn it in front of a crowd or something. Funny that the Americans follow suit in such approach, things are starting to adapt to the 'Russian' (ex-Soviet) luxury model; pay a lot, and get the same treatment as you would in some other country, but for 3 times the price. If you're lucky. I still remember ice cream that costs like €25, which had ice crystals in it for cryin out loud, and I got these small chunks of it too. Man that blows, I can get really good icecream here for like €2, and it will be more, and actually taste good with no ice. So, what did those €23 buy me? Not taste, not service, not a quality environment, neither quantity. Again, expensive has no correlation with quality over there at all :/ The problem is that the few that do pay don't care, as long as they can spend money in front of others and 'impress' them. Pathetic if you ask me. 500 mil for a B-52, pfffft, jokers. And why not buy the ISS for that money, or 10 SR-71s, but one ugly dirty and outdated airframe, that's just not right.

AIM 120 is undermodelled? no!
Force_Feedback replied to SVK_Fox's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Oh, it will happen, if not soon, then in 5-10 pages. -
The real Ka-50 had the nickname Chernaya Akula: Black Shark, this comes from a Soviet movie which featured the Ka-50 and that's where some footage on Youtube comes from. Actually, I want to see that movie, but can't get it anywhere. I remember it having some evil Mi-24 or something, and the ka-50 blasts it from the sky. The Ka-50 had the name Wherewolf for a while, but now it's Black Shark. The Ka-52 is called the alligator, which is a funny reference to the Mi-24 as it's known by the name Crocodile. Lots of pun intended :P

AIM 120 is undermodelled? no!
Force_Feedback replied to SVK_Fox's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
And whining about aim-120 and F-15 too Plenty of other stuff that needs some good fixing as well, so whine about those too. -
The weight doesn't matter much, what counts if the payload capibility, you can have a plane that has an empty weight of 1 kg and a max take off weight of 100000, the game somehow takes that range (1-100000 kg) and uses it for the FM handling characteristics. So decreasing weight won't work, you also need to reduce the max payload weight, and fuel load. In fact, the fuel load is the problem, as the minimum is 20%, so you need a total fuel weight of no more than 9400 kg, or something like that. But not 40000 kg, as it will make the plane unflyable. Best way to do it is experiment with weights and see what works best. Just watsch out that you don't load up more fuel than the maximum weight of the plane, then lomac will crash.

=TuAF= presents... F-35 Lightning II 3D Model
Force_Feedback replied to TorwaK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
How did they do the part with the nose down horizontal flight? (full elevatpr deflection) At 1:17 in the video. Nice model no matter the FM capibilities, that moving nozzle is teh shit. I can see Su-30MKI, Mig-29OVT, F-22, F-18HARV, F-16MATV and maybe an X-31 model appear soon. Good stuff. -
