  1. Yes you are, it will turn on a dime. And right about now some F-1* fanbois will come in saying 'corner speed' 'vertical' and 'energy management' (aka excuses to counter inherent bad maneuvrability)
  2. The Mi-24P is the best 'legacy' Mi-24, at least it was more modern than the flying heap of junk called Mi-24V.
  3. Unlike the other well known game that is 'Russian', this one is well programmed, you don't need a monster machine from hell to play it, and you still can enjoy the physics. Very, very well done.
  4. Read this: ... PS Russian is my native language :p
  5. Lol, probably China can't make decent tires on their own so they have to nick them. Oh, some things will always remain the same, call me prejudiced, but it's true :P :)
  6. Hit the nail right on! They spreaded bullshit commie propaganda in the Soviet era, and now all mass media is owned by the goverment in Russia... Well think for yourself.
  7. Hmm lemme think, she nags, is very small, basically maintenance free, has no mood swings, sounds interesting eh? Only thing is I don't like her curves :(
  8. The Migs were on a routine flight from the Millerovo AB the collision occured at 16:02 Moscow time at an altitude of about 7km, 40km from the airbase. After landing the pilots went to a local village hospital and contacted the authorities, there were no casualties or damage of property on the ground. A criminal investigation under 'Violation of flight rules, or preparation for flight' has started... http://www.rambler.ru/news/events/aircrash/9982735.html OT, but an interesting quote on the Mig-29: Migavia.ru Okay, it says the mig has a button to return to horizontal flight in the event on disorientation (old news, but we need that in lomac). A more interesting thing is what the voice warning system says, the two examples given are 'Way too low approach for landing!' and 'Enemy, behind' (guess only when SPO-15 gives a whine). Oh boy, my Russian VWS fetish is returning :p I say we need the complete Natasha in lomac-2!!!
  9. Hahaha, that would be soo damn funny, at least they can build a proper Mig-35 now, and not some M2->upgraded rusty UB hulk with a coat of paint and a new caopy. :P Maybe it was a photo shoot gone wrong, which would mean there is footage, and if it was the mig-35, well, then we'd see a HUD tape. Any news video link? Or at least the news site
  10. I really want to see our air force training :D What will they do, like lay out a circuit made of spliffs, and the pilot has to stay within: like this --> (the wheel goes through the centre) || || || || At the end some C-130 crews bring beer and a guitar, imagine the mood :)
  11. Oh, ok, enough with the hints, it;s the MIG-AT remember when they said you could select what type of aircraft you want it to emulate? Well, this baby has French avionics (no American stuff), very, very similar to the Mirage-2000 and Bae Hawk. Hence the 'wierd' hud. Oh, real su-27 HUD cams record at 8fps and are part of the internal ACMI system, not nearly as interesting as this, and stuff shown on it is probably still sensitive.
  12. Oh come on, can't you see at least some familiarity with the Mirage-2000? Hint: avionics. The really nice thing is that he had less that 150kg of fuel left when he was like 50km from the runway, and he had no elevator controls (all engine power). Really brave of him not to eject over the designated area. Too bad there is no video of the Yak-130 that DID crash due to some FCS fluke, also it had 2 pilots, both ejected safely.
  13. The original footage is in color, a mystery to my why some a-hole converted it into black/white. In some Russian documentary on test pilots this footage can be seen, as the 1990 Su-27 crash in Italy (fatal, no ejection), and a Mig-29 going WAY over its AoA limit (70 degrees at least) at low altitude above a forrest (no ejection), the strange thing is that the commentary says it's the 1989 Paris airshow crash, well, it's all except that :( Notice how 'Nadia/Rita/Betty/whoever' says what to do after a failure, and what the limitations/procedures are and not some lame 'right engine failure!' like on the real F-15, if only we got that in lock-on :/ Another interesting feature is that the voice warning system also transmits the warnings to ground control, no need to model that in lomac, but still :P Damn we need realistic warnings on the Russian jets, but nobody gives a damn, it's all about some chopper, which probably has either the 'lite' version or the same lame and limited warnings as the Mig-29/su27(k)/su-25T in lomac 1.12a :(
  14. Human error is a very common occurance, not everything can be blamed on equipment failure, I don't quite understand your upset reply, or do you mean you never f-ed something up? And vodka doesn't count, as everyone drinks it, be it a rookie service pilot, or Mr Pugachev himself. And it's no Mig-25, where even pilots had some severe alcohol problems (first hand experience) :/
  15. Same footage as some brit documentary form a while ago :/ hardly 'new' or unknown, just like the 1999 MKI crash and 1993 mig-29 mid-air constantly being shown, often with ghey sound effects
  16. 220km north of Rostov na Donu. Don't think we'll see any footage, and if we will, mig-29 hud cams go at what? 10 fps? something low like that :( And having 30-60 flight hours (for the 'average' service pilot, the pros get 100+) that's no surprise, on the other hand, they are human...
  17. Yes, and a visor that comes down first (no need for 'clear' visors like most Western helmets have), I still can't believe the JSF/F-22/EF-2000/Gripen and other '4th+/5th gen flying machines have clear visors that will get scratched, add weight and even may cause confusion. Also the torso protection system works in conjunction with the leg raisers, to shape a nice sonic wave, around the arms and head. The cool thing, IMHO, is, that all the crap that got extended upon ejection (arm guards, leg raisers, Mach guard) returns to the original position after ejection (and thus before seat/man seperation). A well refined system, sure it got some fatal 'snags' in the testing period, but nowdays it's a mature system. Too bad they don't want to spend the cash to develop a truly new ejection seat, but eh, that's Eastern Europe, fill your pockets first, get fat, then think of the future/enviorement/consequences/health :/
  18. Was it with the F-15E that had a frozen HUD during night? The only soloution for high Q ejections is, tie everything down, and make a smooth stop. His backseater didn't survive the ordeal :(
  19. Argh, apples and oranges. I mean, they fired an ejection seat, LIVE, for the movie (from the same plane, bort nr. 801). And now I see that those scenes without the canopy were not CGI at all, that is just plainly insane (and expensive). I thought the scorchmarks were CGI effects too, but noooo, they fooled us again, from an unexpected angle, damned film makers! So, we have an ejection seat firing from an airworthy and flying aircraft, and the same thing is really flying without a canopy, that is like surreal.
  20. That's what you get with 'ex'-totalitarian 'news agencies' that have the same kind of journalists as we do: lazy assed slackers that rather make up things than comply with the things they've learned during their studies. If only they were more critical at what kind of articles they accept, and fired all those wankers that are in the business for easy money. I'm wondering wether the US counterpart of the Pravda, Fox news has the same kind of 'patriots' working the news, probably yes, but they have more $$$ to keep the lid tight.
  21. Dude, Jack Bauer would do the same thing with a Piper 28 and get into hyperspace as well
  22. I've seen some video of an Indian service MKI, doing some 'wtf is that?' kind of manoeuvers, don't know if it was an airshow, guess not, it was an Indian documentary on the Lightning, they showed actual training footage, and my god, it was at least as impressive as the airshow. We need Fox Mulder in one of those :P
  23. Heh heh, always like to see 25 tonnes of metal flipping around in the sky like that, too bad Supermaneuver doesn't recognise my Cyborg EVO :( And what's even worse is that Supermaneuver's successor was classified ~2 weeks before it got released :(
  24. I heard of some trick a while ago, with some DOS program, 'blight' or something, it also did something to textures, reduce the color depth or whatever.
  25. Can't you see the big hump, large fins and dual canopy on that thing? That might be the Su-30KN before its paintjob.
