  1. Bingo ;) But phased arrays may use less power than CRTs, at least, that's with guitar amps :P Don't know how they compare to AESA radars, but I'd guess semiconductors use less energy than good ol' tubes :P
  2. What about the engines? In what way are they better, and which engines do they copy (al-31, al-31f, al-31F mod 3/4)? I would say the Pl-10/12 whatever (I know how it looks, rest assured) is a copy of the aim-120, with larger REAR fins, which leads to a guesstimate of better meneuvrability then the aim-120C/D. It's range is however lower than that of the R-77. Also, China needs to be able to say 'look hard working citizens, we have the brains and resources to create our 'own' weapons', and to be less dependant on Russia/Israel for spare parts. It's a good thing that they actually develop something on their own, or at least, for the biggest part, now a change of goverment, and the world economy will crash down sooo damn hard.
  3. Want tot know how many submods there are of the S-25/S-8/S5 and UB-13? We have many wishes, but let's hope ED will do as much as they can to correct the Mavs, also that bug with the weapon slider should be fixed
  4. Not to mention that part of the dev team works/worked/will work on Russian and US military trainers, it's fine with me if that's classified or something, but just keep in mind that they also make trainers for the Russian military, so think about it next time you boot lomac. Also, every time you insert the disc, 10 kittens are sent to hell straight away... Yes, I'm a big ass h4x0r, yeah, nothing can stop me, not even the disc check. I just installed the download version :/
  5. And I keep on wondering when they'll start making eadible hats :P Nah, as I said, those are cigar cutters for the Cubans. The pilot does a walkaround, it's hot, the atmosphere is relaxing, so he wants to smoke a Cuban, and since the cutters are on the 3/9 line, he can smoke 2 cigars without having to walk that far. Just don't insert fingers or other things that may stick out in those holes.
  6. That's why I have a bong :D
  7. And I say stop hurting such beautiful animals.
  8. An automatic cigar cutter for sure :P
  9. Come on, stop this 'I love plane X, so the su-30 sucks' routine, it's getting boring, if you want to troll, start your own thread, don't get this one closed. No matter what you think of Venezuela, the Su-27 series or wether there are Martians walking among us... Keep it civilized please, otherwise this will become some sort of international trolling forum, and since most of us are at or over the age of conscent, and still display childish behavior... You all get the point, I hope at least. So, I'll ask it again, any news on the armament, the modifications Venezuela ordered, maybe some nice stats, something! All I know is that it's a MK2, nothing more, and it seems not to have TVC engines (not really needed for every day, non-warpath duties), what else? The avionics, are they from 'Russian avionics' or from Sextant/Thales? And please, please tell me what the ejection seat mod it is, it looks like a K-36D Series 3.5E, but does it have the optional yaw thrusters?
  10. http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/fighter/jxx.asp Avionics are Russian, same symbology at least :s
  11. The Su-30 has some kind of shitter in the ejection seats, so remember, next time you see them K-36s, shit can be ejected as well :D
  12. Ooh, K-36D 3.5 in there, those things are sweeet, will save your pilot's asses anytime, but let's hope they won't have to use them too soon. Any info on the ejection seat customization, do these have roll thrusters? EDIT, video makes me think you've got the K-36D 3.5A. Those flares on that mi-35M2 look like rockets themselves, very, very cool, guess 'stan' led to advances in flare technology on the Alligator.
  13. Okay, firstly, stop whining about politics and the F-16, I know those people want to 'influence' southern America, to buy oil in $ and to look down at 'Mexicans', but this is not the topic, it's about the Su-30MK2(V). Oh man, I want cockpit shots, I love those outer panels angled inwards, looks very Star Trek-shuttle-something like. What kind of armament will your Su-30MK2s support? What are the 'customizations' on your Su-30ies in terms of engines, avionics and such? PLZ GIVE US COCKPIT SHOTS :P
  14. it's not airworthy, so all you can do with it is turn on the engine, see the lights come on, put a lawnchair in the cockpit, and act like a 6 year old
  15. Okay, I'll be asking this question again, what parts of the mig-29M2/35/Ubermig/Wecan'tmakeupagoodnameforourMig are composite? The airbrake, chute flairing (not sure of it has a brake chute), TVC actuator covers, the canopy :P, LEFs, flaps, ailerons, vertical stabs, horizontal stabs. What else is made out of plastic?
  16. Any details on the Ukrainian Mig-29 upgrades? They will be upgraded domestically, but that's all I heard, no word on what will actually be upgraded. I guess R-27AE integration would be one of them, now that thing (or the seeker to be precise) is in production. But what else?
  17. Heh heh, I knew it, nightwish, they have some good songs, though walking in the air is too gothic-operatic for my liking, the songs that Tigrou used were awesome though, but that's self explanatory.
  18. Cool, now we can trace the money trail all the way to the NSA  I always wonder what kind of people buy such planes, and for what purpose, just to fly it, to maintain it, to make some kind of club with friends, so they can restore the jets... Wasn't there some criterea ex-military jets must meet (besides not having working weapon systems, and 'warfare related' equipment)? Heard something about clipping of structural members to reduce the maximum G-load on some F/A-18s, maybe this mig got 'clipped' as well?
  19. I don't very much care who do you think is best (I'm a bit anti-Russia IMHO), just as long as no one gets too much power. Back on topic (I know it's my fault), what exactly on the mig-35 is made out of carbon fiber? I clearly see the hydraulic actuator covers are plasic-esque, so is the airbrake since the Mig-29K saw the light of day. What else is composite of that thing that wasn't made out of composites on the vanilla mig-29?
  20. the ejection seat should have a wider basis, now it looks like some lightweight Mk.16L, with ultra thing parachute packs. Just widen the seat, nothing fancy asked :P
  21. Well, if it wasn't, I'de be using Russian as my first language and probably breathing some plutonium particles... I'm not saying the F-22 is bad, but it is overhyped, adding more to the confusion about its capabilities. The mig-35 reminds me of an F-16 somehow, maybe the canopy, maybe the paint scheme. now I wonder if we'll get a mig-37 or a Mig-39 as the PAK-FA, gues we'll have to wait more for something really new, and not some old airframe all pained nicely and stuck with 4 lcd panels and a phased array radar. Yes, all the extra fuel will make it have longer legs, but seriousely, the airframe is getting old now, maybe it's time for something new, but then again, $$$.
  22. I know what I'll be watching when I'm baked...
  23. "Yes, but the F-22 has LPI, and I'm too ignorant to believe in other countries' resourcefulness, nor do I believe in espoinage, hence the reasons for me thinking the F-22 will own them all without a nag." I call such attitudes ignorant, but heck, keep fooling yourself, that's what the goverment wants you to think, spread the love. So what if some mig can shoot down an F-22? Do you really think Russia is going to attack you with military power? Guess again, then think about your main mean of transportation, then think again...
  24. Also, besides setting the NAt, you also may have to disable the router's firewall, and open ports in any software based firewall
  25. That is nothing, I've been inside a mi-26T, now that thing is really BIG, the Cow is a bit smaller, but also a bitch to fly, they couldn't even take off vertically with a full fuel load. :\ BTW, if the radiation levels are as high as you think, the man on the picture would already have severe burns, so the argument saying grass is affected by radiation is utterly cr*ppy. Plants and animals can tolerate higher dosages than humans.
