Go standalone. You also have automatic updates and get new releases way earlier. The only reason to go for steam might be the overlay and friend function.

I just noticed we are also going to get one with mistral missiles in a future update :O Ill be buying this. Also the sniper team, might not be to effective in the scope of DCS, but it is damn cool.

And think about the helicopter hunting with the strela 2's. On the blue flag server it might actually be a decent helicopter for escorting the troop transports. It even has a 23mm gun for killing the last few infantry/trucks.

A Tiger is ofcourse awesome and I would like it more than a mi-2. But a mi-2 armed with guided weapons is like putting a missile system on a old tractor. I find it really awesome somehow. The mi-2 would also take considerably less time developing I would imagine. Though its effectiveness will probably be a lot worse. There is so much I still want.

Lets first find out how big the SSD drive is. You need around 40GB free for DCS (on the safe side). I would not recommend copying your installation, though it might be possible. What I would do is: - Make a backup of your config folder. It is located at: C:/Users/*your account name*/saved games/DCS. It is always a good idea to have a backup of this folder when you want to reinstall. - Deactivate all your bought modules. You can do this by going to the directory where you installed DCS. Drive(C or D, etc):/*the map you installed it in*/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Mods/aircraft (or campaigns if you have bought them)/*the aircraft or campaign*/bin/***_protect. Run the program and choose to deactivate the module. - Deinstall all of DCS - Reinstall DCS on your preferred drive - Install and activate all of your modules by logging in ingame and going to the module manager. - Put your config folder back where it belongs

Shallow dive. But the moment I drop collective it very quickly nose downwards into a steep dive with complete loss of control and rotor RPM. Should I really drop collective down completely or keep it somewhere halfway in the beginning? I have done it before quite some months ago. But now I somehow just cant get it to work.

Hello Huey pilots Let me start by telling you that I am a noob huey pilot so I might have some things wrong. I would like to know how you guys autorotate in DCS, but first let me tell you what I do: Once I notice that the engine RPM is going down I drop the collective. I will try to keep the helicopter in a low angle dive and steer it to a good location for landing. When close to the ground I flare and pull the collective. But what happens in DCS. The moment engine RPM is going down and I drop the collective, I drop like a brick. Cyclic inputs do nothing and rotor RPM keeps going down. When I increase the collective a bit the rotor rpm goes up a bit, but not enough and I still drop like a brick. If I increase the collective even more the rotor RPM drops again and I fall like a brick. I thought that the whole idea behind autorotation is trading altitude for rotor RPM by lowering the collective and then using that RPM for the slowdown when you are close to the ground.

We should get the Rb-04E since it is specially designed to fit the viggen. The E can also do sea skimming.

If remembering the startup is the problem then print the startup checklists. Even though I know the startup of the a-10 quite well, I still use checklists to make sure I don't forget anything. Autostart will most likely be implemented, but it can take a while.

Is there a preliminary kill count somewhere? I would like to know if I need to claim a kill and who killed who.

The graphics chip is actually in the intel CPU and not on the motherboard. These chips will not run DCS at acceptable framerates. The fact that it can output 4k does not mean it can process intensive 3d environments.

Ugh, that color scheme. But I guess it is made with star citizen and elite dangerous in mind. Also because of the two analog sticks that replace buttons.

It looks like I might have actually got a kill before I blacked out after all. He was well in the gate without terrain to mask, so I was suprised when I did not get any message. I might have to make my own track aswell to make sure.

Nah, it's some of the costumers that need to change. When it's done it's done. People always want a status update, just relax. You allready have a really nice platform to play on. And we hear a lot about the gazelle's development and it came together really quickly. Just wait it out. It's not going to be any faster when they release a status update every day.
