One more question... can vegas movie studio8 (Platinum edition) do blue screen? (green screen?)
-
still the best jet sim out there.
-
Thanks. I'm re-doing the entire movie... so i'll have time to re-do some of the angles. However, some of them are not default.
-
Ok, thanks. 4 editing layers are good enough for me. (loads better than the one in movie maker) I don't plan to make GA quality movies (that's his job) so i guess movie studio. Thanks guys
-
ok... Thanks very much for all your help. I think I'm going to re-do the entire movie,. (I still have many of the tracks in my lock on folder) with the registered version of fraps. it will be much better that way. Again, thanks so much. Rep coming your way. :) EDIT: well, I can't rep you... forum won't let me.

What can each one do? I guess this is more of a question for GA. I have never used Vegas before. Can the less expensive (movie studio) version still do some of the things in your movies? is there anything really big I would be missing in the full Vegas 7 or 8 or whatever? Thanks

SU-33 carrier landing almost impossible?!

I just use the big green circle on the HUD as my reference. Keep the X in the middle of the HUD in that circle, keep managing your speed to the assigned speed and it will be perfect every time. (so long as you remember to put your hook down... :D ) That's not to say you shouldn't worry about what the other's said, but this trick helped me a lot. Oh, and yes... practice! -
Nope, still no joy.

Thanks, I have tried everything you mentioned except testing every clip in movie maker. No files seem to be corrupted. maybe it's time to get vegas... EDIT: more to add. Some clips are just black in the movie when i play it in movie maker. (An entire clip is black) this appears to be random and different clips are black every time. The movie will also just stop randomly. I have to pause and play again for it to continue. Could this be a clue to the problem? I really hate to see all this hard work go to waste!

Ok, i just finished my movie. (thanks GA and SKF for the fraps help!) But i'm having another issue... does any one here have experience with Windows movie maker? Well, the problem is best described in the attached pictures. The only issue is that I HAVE verified everything's in place. I have never moved any of the files, i have plenty of HD space, and I have tried several different publishing locations. any ideas? :( I'm stumped... and frustrated... :helpsmilie:

It's not vista compatible...

Thanks, I ended up turning down the speed... But windows movie maker is lagging quite a but trying to both speed up the clip and render a transition. @superkungfu: I would like to turn down the res, but then that "fraps.com" thing gets quite big. Thanks for the help. i think i'm going to need the full, registered version for my next film.

Yes, yes, i know recording with fraps will lower your FPS, but I'm getting it in the teens mostly and sometimes in the single digits! This is ridiculous! It's never been this bad before. In the same mission i'm recording, I get frame rates sometimes in the hundreds if fraps is not recording! (as there are only 2 planes flying.) as for slowing down the sim... i'm working with the unregistered version, and thus will have reduced my recording time to just 15 seconds. any ideas?

This is all in X-plane. I believe you can put weapons and stuff on it. (Even create your own weapons) I gave up on Plane-Maker and X-plane a long time ago, but there are many people here who would have the patience for it. http://www.x-plane.com

Ya, I'm sorry... I Fly the A-10 mostly if I'm moving mud. Those rockets aren't very good in lock on. The Russian ones are better. I agree with you there.
-
Yes, frankly, the rockets sucked in lockon. I hope they're better in BS.

"Flying the Flanker"--Flight Journal, Aug, 1999
Aeroscout replied to Ironhand's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Very nice. @frost1e: I was thinking the same thing when I read that. lol I also noticed how lock on isn't all that far off the mark either. (maybe it's just me) -
This is wonderful!

I did that for a week, then I got pedals. It was a nice alternative though. Problem is that they are close together, you can press both at the same time and there are no toe brakes.

Wags recommend a moderate $ystem to run BS

Ok. What's the purpose of the L2 cache? and would it be worth converting to intell for the bigger L2 cache? My 500W PSU looks fine... Thanks very much for the info acady. Vielen Dank. Looks like the GT may be my card. and sorry for taking over the thread flyby. -
Same question i asked before i got it :) Essentially, your head's movement is enhanced in game. You only have to move you head a few degrees and the "In-game head" moves all the way to your right or whatever. Of course, this is all customizable and programmable. Once you get TIR, you won't imagine flying with out it, it's that wonderful. It's completely natural, once you get past the first week of getting used to it. If you had to make a priority list, it's as follows: 1. HOTAS 2. Track IR 3. Pedals Does that help? EDIT: for a less expensive alternative to track IR, you could look into this "freetrack" software that uses a web cam. I don't know much about it, but if you don't have the money then this might be something to consider.

If you're using Firefox, you can tell it to fill in the user name and password automatically. all you have to do is push "Log On"

I think it does, but probably not noticeable on a high end card? what's your system like? (7900 is low end now...) Where can I get this card? (tried newegg, but it was $300 and used PCI express 2.0, not x16) and how powerful must the PSU be? This might be my next card! -
Just got petals. It's difficult to get used to in lockon, but much more intuitive when flying a chopper in FSX. Also, in the redbull race, the knife edge is easier because there is a lot less to do with your hands. BS should be awesome with them. I Think Petals are a good idea. Of course, the entire set up is nice: pedals, HOTAS, TrackIR. Your entire body is now part of the game. :) As fro CH Vs Saitek, I don't have any complaints of my Saitek pedals as of yet.

Patch 1.13 Requested Features/Fixes List (*Merged)
Aeroscout replied to Colt40Five's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Why? there are many more important bugs to squash. I don't really have a need for TAS.
