TM Cougar & CH magnetoresistive/ hall sensor kits
CybrSlydr replied to rel4y's topic in Thrustmaster
Appreciate it, but I bought one from Relay last weekend. -
I figure simplicity. Lots of Steam games, so just keep it all there. But I agree, I switched to non-steam modules for that exact reason.

I'll take the 30% discount over a poster or badge. These aren't the Paradox Interactive forums afterall. Lol
-
I'm only interested in BluFor stuff, so this one was really high on my list, same with the Cobra.
-
I've upgraded the throttle with hall sensors and will have a new ministick from rel4y coming in the next few weeks
-
Aye. Bought it a few years ago. Was super stoked as I remember when they came out and how badly I wanted one. Couldn't afford it then. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

I have no self control... I told myself I wouldn't pre-order. But with that discount and video... They worked their magic. I couldn't stop. -sigh- It's only money. lol
-
Interesting - can you do that inside DCS or do you have to use external programming software?
-
Awwwww yiss!!!! Not looking forward to trying to figure out how to assign all the controls to my Cougar... LOL

Really bummed we don't have the BLU-107s. Loved lining up a runway with 6 of them and just going Frank on it.

I think I'm ready to buy a Cougar Ministick if you've still got them, Relay. -
Right now it's 2x Sidewinders, 6x Mav-Hs, 2x HEAT rocket pods, and 2x CBU-105s, with a Lightening pod. Works great for the Liberation CAS missions or OCA strikes. I think once I learn how to use the laser guided rockets, I'll swap them out for the Hydras.

The HUD is ridiculously small in the A-10C. Aside from moving your POV up and down, any other ways to get better FOV on the HUD? The CCRP for GPS bombs/Maverick range on the left side is nigh-unreadable, and the gunsight for the GAU consistently goes above the top frame.

I just look for the JTAC orange smoke. Lol Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

I've had the F-18 and the Supercarrier module for a while (I want to say I got the Supercarrier on release and the F-18 close to it's release - profile says I got the Hornet on 12/29/2018 and Supercarrier on 02/14/2020) but I've never used them that much. Mostly as the Viper is my first love - I wanted to fly the things when I went to ROTC. But, seeing all the cool weapons that the Hornet gets that the F-16 doesn't (like the SLAM-ER, JSOW C, etc), I thought I'd give it a go in a DCS Liberation campaign mission, just for variety. Instead of launching a JSOW at an EWR in a DEAD mission with the Viper, I'd give the SLAM-ER a go. HOLY BALLS THAT F-18 IS STUPID COMPLICATED! I know it's just my unfamiliarity with the platform, but the F-16 is so much simpler. JSOW? Pre-brief, set the steerpoint to the target and just get in range. Then there's the whole trying to land thing (and getting the chocks removed so you can actually get to the cat, don't forget to salute or you'll burn all your fuel waiting to launch - lol). I think I had 6 go-arounds before I snagged the 2 wire and 2 bolters prior to that. Let alone all the other systems - while I wish the Viper could use the SLAM-ER, just for variety, that Hornet... Even firing a HARM is complicated. Viper it's just cursor point and shoot when it range. lol Trying that Hornet certainly makes me appreciate my simple Viper a lot more.

I've been strongly considering getting some higher capacity and faster RAM (apparently even 2400 isn't so great for my CPU - lol). But those Samsung B-dies are so expensive (like $300 for 32GB). System monitor shows the CPU and GPU aren't even working that hard. I just don't want to really spend that kind of money... lol Maybe when the 3d cache Ryzens come out I'll do a CPU/RAM/Mobo upgrade. I did try a new campaign in the Persian Gulf, and in that one I'm getting consistent 40+ FPS. Might be the Caucuses with all the trees and stuff too.

I don't think it's just Liberation or too taxing on my system. I'm flying the Black Sea campaign and have unit culling enabled. I think it's Liberation because I just flew a ME created mission to destroy an EWR with a JSOW from Batumi and my frames were up into the 80s - but still had some dips down into the 30s.
-
It also won't compensate for an asymmetric load if you fire a weapon. Ask me how I know. lol

I thought I had it licked, but no go apparently. I'm flying DCS Liberation through the mission editor in the Caucuses. Almost exclusively the Viper. I have an i7 8700k @ 4.3Ghz, a 1080 (non-Ti), and 16GB 2400Mhz RAM. Windows 10 at 1440p. Originally I thought I fixed it by moving my pagefile to my SSD, but that has stopped working. I can usually run in the mid 40s, but every few seconds, it'll dip into the low teens and back up. Does this constantly. I read elsewhere it might be Malware Bytes scanning my DCS folder, but I exited MB and Spybot and it still does it. I then added the DCS folder to the approved list and no go Liberation and DXS are the only programs running aside from the system tray ones. System Monitor shows my RAM usage at around 13-15GB. Is this really my RAM maxing out or am I getting this issue from somewhere else? Switching to LOW settings did nothing to help my framerates. What other system info do you folks need to help diagnose this? Thanks! Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Outstanding - thank you ED!
