  1. Since your tail wheel has been answered; quick tip for landing without dropping a wing is to set your parking brake to about 15% in the air before you touch down, sounds crazy but it totally works.
  2. All of the WWII birds for sure, hopefully it's not long before we get some solid SP campaigns for the map.
  3. I hear you, I guess what I didn't say but should have is that I don't see any fracturing as it's almost unthinkable to me that someone who's invested in the WWII aircraft and map wouldn't also buy the unit pack. I guess what I'm getting at is this sim is built on time and money investment, if someone is unwilling to spend $30 for authentic units, chances are they'd also be unwilling to pay for the aircraft and map as well.
  4. It means exactly what I think it means – don't question the value of a gift.
  5. The trend this board has taken is exhausting. Here's the deal. We're all here because we want a PREMIUM, HIGH FIDELITY product, that's why we don't bat an eye at spending $60 for one airplane. I want the same fidelity out of the entire experience, if that means ED invests more time into each item; ie units, maps, airplanes, etc and wants to recuperate that by selling them individually I will wholeheartedly support that because that's why I'm here. There are plenty of other sims out there that offer a lesser product at a baseline package, flat cost, if that's more important to you then by all means go that route. I'm here for a premium, niche, experience with the understanding that there's a hefty price tag on that, at this point with modules and peripherals I'm in for thousands, as are many of us. The last thing I want is for a small, outspoken, minority of this community to trash ideas like this to the point where we never see a Vietnam unit pack, or a Korean War unit pack, or any other number of interesting future paid-for enhancement packs. Don't forget, it would have been just as easy for ED to say "here's a map with a handful of low quality units, each side gets a truck and a tank. The community can take care of the rest of the units through modding". Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.
  6. In the Normandy Map discussion board Sith stated that if you qualify for the map as a backer the unit pack is indeed included :)
  7. Looks incredible, thanks for all your hard work ED, the vehicle and aircraft lists are also top notch. Sounds like the community isn't big on choice these days, maybe next time just set a hard price of $60-$70 and be done with it. I bet it would save you the headache. That being said, I think the fact that you ARE offering us options on how we purchase our content is pretty big of you and a nice gesture to the community, I hope if you choose to go down this path in the future people see it that way. Looking forward to April!
  8. Just a public safety announcement, please make sure you use something like JSGME to install ANY mods to the game so you don't run into any issues down the road. Here's a link to a guide on JSGME: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607 Here's a guide to the alternative GME software: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171956 And don't forget to use one of the above pieces of software to disable all of your modifications before you update DCS so that they're not overwritten forcing you to redownload and reinstall all of them again. Whichever you choose, make sure you always go with something like this instead of installing files directly into the game folders yourself, it will save you a lot of time and frustrations down the road. That being said, excellent work TBear, looks great!!!
  9. Thanks, I'll def give it a fly!
  10. I wonder if we'll get a "What are those P-47's doing there?" during the Normandy live stream.
  11. I like my gauges too much to have them replace my whole front panel with a single 20" screen. :P
  12. Haha! Alright then, I guess I better copy/save some files and start poking around ;)
  13. Having an x52 instead of the warthog stick made mapping, learning and remembering the hotas controls the most difficult part of learning the A-10C for me. The nice thing about going through that process though is that I've slowly been mapping the same control structure over to the rest of my aircraft modules so it's easier for me to jump in any pit and fly without having to re-learn everything. It also seems like there's ALWAYS something more to learn and since the A-10C's backed by the largest amount of single player campaigns there's no shortage of unique scenario's that force you to learn new things.
  14. Your work's incredible Reflected, we're so lucky to have you continue to contribute your time and work toward this community. Keep it up, can't wait to fly over the Normandy map in one of these.
  15. I would love a Leatherneck F4, the LNS cockpits are second to none, an F4 done by them would be too good. If it rolled out with a Vietnam map I imagine the community would lose it's mind.
  16. Just tried it and for offlne campaigns it seems frame friendly so far and no strange spinning clouds yet (at least on my end). Any other .lua edit tips that people might not know about? Lighting, etc?
  17. I'd also love to know how to turn on new clouds, any input would be great. Thanks guys!
  18. Thanks for this! I've worked backwards over the years playing DCS, first learning the clickable cockpit aircraft. I'm finding it much more challenging to learn the ins and outs of the F-15 than the A-10C because I can't just click on what I want to manipulate in the cockpit :P Strange problem to have I guess but this guide's a huge help. Thanks again!
  19. Sorry, can someone fill me in here? The mod sounds and looks great but do I need to email Rocco and donate in order to get a version without watermarks?
  20. Wow, this is amazing. Thanks so much!
  21. Wow, I'll def be adding this to my mod list. Excellent work!
  22. I've put a little time into this and finished the first four missions, as Baltic_Dragon said above, so far it seems like a good starter campaign for newer A-10 pilots. Here are some thoughts: + Missions so far seem like they each offer an interesting mix of action + Dialogue and voice work seem pretty good so far + You have the option to play with/without labels + No bugs yet - Briefing write ups are very short and lack a lot of context/atmosphere/flavour text - Missions are on the short side as far as A-10 campaign missions go - No radio channels in briefings, seems like you just leave radios set to whatever channels you start on - 3 out of 4 starts have been hot with engines on, one was airborne If I get a chance to put more time in I'll add some more thoughts. For now I'll say that for $10 it's a new A-10 campaign and that's enough for me. That being said it doesn't hold a candle to Baltic_Dragon or Ranger79's work.
  23. Just wanted to stop by to say this has indeed been fixed. Flew the first two missions last night and they were excellent, really looking forward to the rest of the campaign!
  24. Oops, I guess I should have read up on the forum FAQ before posting, didn't realize name dropping other products would get my post deleted. My bad. That being said, I agree that in multiplayer the WWII DM is much better than against AI in single or co-op. It gets pretty frustrating when you dump all of your ammo into an AI opponent, only to have him turn the tables on you and take you out as if he's sustained no damage whatsoever. Any tips on flying WWII birds against AI with the current DM? Is there something I can set in the mission parameters perhaps?
