  1. Keyboard command for brakes is "W". It you quick click it it turns on the brakes which will slow the aircraft. If you hold it down the plane will stop quicker.
  2. Just want to be sure. For the DC World v1.2.0 you have to download separately the training files for the Su-25T and Ka-50 from the downloads section and install them, i.e. the training for those two are not part of the module download. Also you have to apply the hotfix. Is that correct?
  3. If I understand you correctly, you can take a screenshot of the map. Then in a graphics program or Paint, you can size the map or picture. I believe the correct size is 512 x 512. Save it as a jpg or png photo and then place it in the missions folder. At the top of the briefing insert in the mission editor you click on "+" and indicate on the follow screen where that photo is. It should show up in your briefing on the left side panel.
  4. Here is another story. I loaded up DCS World and the P-51D about five days ago. I've pretty much got takeoff down and landings are coming along although there is still a slight tendency to catch a ground loop slowing down. Now touch and go with flaps are totally another thing...I've got a lot of work to do there. However on my first flight I went up to about 8,000 feet and put the plane into an intentional spin. It was so realistic!!! I used to spin all the time when instructing in the USAF T-37. I recovered after letting it spin several rotations but not before it entered a reverse spin. It felt great!!! The fight model in this aircraft is a thing of beauty. Thaks ED!
  5. I assume that you can replace the P-51D, or any other wallpaper, on the DCS World screen....but what folder do you put it in? :helpsmilie:
  6. Loaded the Program I haven't had any problems with the training missions, aside from an occasional ground loop :), and was wondering if this might be a help. I loaded the simulation not where it was defaulted to load but in a separate simulation folder I created for A-10C, Black Shark, Black Shark 2 and now DCS. Could that make a difference? I am running Win7 64 bit.
  7. Are we talking about v1.1.2.1? I have been through several of the training missions and have not had any problems. I loaded the simulation yesterday and have run the training both yesterday and today. What I am having a problem with is getting my radio calls answered. I have held in the mic switch until I (my pilot) completes his request but get no reply from ground control or tower. I'm running the full simulation but with easy communication.
  8. Okay, I must have missed the memo. Has ED decided to get rid of the Missions & Campaigns sub-fourms because of the USER FILES section as it has disappeared from all three aircraft forums????
  9. I'll second that....can't get a connection! Update: Okay...it's been corrected!
  10. Are you ramp starting of starting on the runway? If you ramp started do you advance the power levers (sorry forgot their name) on the far left side of the cockpit? You need to use either the page-up or page-down to adjust them, forgot which.
  11. To comment on the skin makers statement: " I honestly thought I would get more heat over making a German skin on an American plane." If you are going to have one-on-one (or more) dogfights, it is much better to have an "enemy" paint scheme on one set of aircraft. We don;t what any friendly fire problems!
  12. I couldn't find an Iron Cross campaign are you sure it isn't the Devil's Cross campaign???
  13. I created these to practice. Maybe they will work for you. http://www.4shared.com/rar/MyY7MLte/Nav_Missions.html
  14. ED Newsletter I saw the new ED newsletter and it indicated you could sign up to be on the -email list. Where and how do you sign up to get the newsletters via e-mail? thanks!
  15. It may be based on several factors such as maintaining the safety of the JTAC or enemy activity. In the case of a mission I made up that took place in the mountains...the heading lined you up to go down the valley. The first pass on the target area was one direction down the valley and the second pass was approximately 180 degrees opposite.
  16. The ILS system is set up to a glide slope that gives you a touchdown point about 800 - 1000 feet doen the runway. That is a lot of distance when you normally try to land on the nubers.
  17. Iran or Korea for me.
  18. I am totally happy with WWII aircraft but I really wish and hope that the simultion includes other AI controlled WWII in a WWII scenerio along with the capibility of flying in the "modern" environment.
  19. Okay, after reading this threat I am totally confused. Is the release of the P-51D simply a single aircraft flyable in the A-10C, BS2 environment. Or, will it have it's own WWII simulation environment with other AI WWII aircraft?
  20. No, not serious! It could be a vent for heating/cooling or pressurization of the cockpit.
  21. Time to get into the proper mood! Run out and see "Red Tails" now in your local theater...at least in the States!
  22. They are way too expensive and have fairly low weight and drag. Chances are you wouldn't be able to save the aircraft even if you dropped them and the chance of accidently jettisioning them would be too great.
  23. Either download the full 1.1.1.1 version and burn it to (2) DVDs or simply download the v1.1.1.1 patch and burn it to a DVD and place it in you box along with the box version you have.
  24. When you make the "Inbound" radio call to #5 ATC and the base you are landing at, the controller will tell you which runway they are currently using. Just add a zero to the two numbers he gives you.
  25. Write it up and get the crew chief to fix it. :>}
