  1. where you are in relation to waypoints etc (or even if you have a waypoint) does not matter when using the RB 75. And When it comes to buildings. You can lock buildings that are spawned in (added by mission creator) and some others (airfield hangars etc) as buildings in DCS are treated differently. Some are treated as structures / targets and others just as terrain and the latter you can not lock with the RB 75. I just tried it myself and i have no problem locking and launching the RB 75 so i dont get where the problem is for you =P. Simply spot the target Press T1 to slew. TV Fix to Lock then launch (with T0 to bring seeker back to boresight). But since you can both see that screen and slew the target i dont think that is where the problem lies =P. And you are sure that the weapons release button works? (you have tried other weapons or checked in controls).
  2. The gunpod can be used together with both the RB 75 and the RB 05A and they are the only exception to the no mixing rule. Here is an example that shows the RB 05A + Akan combo. And since the RB 75 used the same weapon selector positions (both on the cockpit and external panels) anything that can be carried with the RB 05 can also be carried with the 75. And the 75/Akan mix is something i use pretty often and it works well (you can even go with 3x RB 75 and 1x gunpod though that causes the recoil when shooting the gunpod to be asymmetric though its easy enough to compensate)
  3. Well you can use them together with the Gunpods but that is the only exception. I have never had any issue with the RB 75 in 2.5. What is your launch procedure with the RB 75? It should be Uncage slew to target lock on target then fire (Unsafe can be done at any time) Then cycle the Safety to select next missile. And are you sure the missile is locked onto something before you try to launch (as no lock means no launch).

    F-15E?

my understanding is that anybody that has FC3 or the SU-27 will also get the J-11A.
  5. which i why i think the laser code for the Jtac should be changed for the redside to something the F-5E can actually use. (Reported the same problem last page) Since i would fly Red more if i could lob GBUs in the F-5E.
  6. Inserting coordinates is very easy i even do it mid flight. Its super easy to do in MP. After you start up the aircraft and the nav computer switch it to Ref/lola and Input. Then go to the map of where you want the waypoint to be (so in this case if you want to hit the taxiways of a runway put the cursor over the taxiway you want to hit) you will then see the coordinates shown in the top left of the screen and simply type them into the computer just remember to insert them Longitude (East/West) then Latitude (North/South) since they are listed with latitude first on the map. Easiest way of insterting them is to bind the keys for the nav computer keypad (i have them bound to the numpad) that way you dont have to write them down or having to go back and forth between map and inputing etc. After you have inserted the coordinates simply create the waypoint by clicking one of the waypoint buttons (B1-9). After that simply takeoff fly towards the waypoint and when you are 7-8km away traveling at high speed (and at the correct low altitude) drop the BK 90s. I regularly do Runway strikes in MP using this method and it works perfectly. I generally make 4 waypoints (1 for each BK 90) to have them hit specific point and if you do that simply launch 1 then select the next waypoint launch that one and so on.
  7. Well there are a number of ways of using it in MP. If the target group is large enough (tightly grouped vehicles etc) you can spot them with the radar. But if there is a Jtac on the server you can always use that to get the target coordinates then simply make a waypoint for those coordinates and drop your BK 90s on it and as long as the Nav drift is not to bad you should score a hit. You can even have other aircraft like the A-10C locate a target and then give the coordinates for you to drop BK 90s on it. So there is nothing stopping you from using the BK 90 in multiplayer and with this update it will be a very effective weapon that i forsee being very popular in MP.
  8. Would it be possible to change the JTAC laser code for the Red side to something in the 1500-1700 range as the F-5E can not select codes outside that range. And being able to throw GBUs in the F-5E is great fun and would make it more valuable in the air-ground role.
  9. We are in early access... So ofc the aircraft is not feature complete. Wait and see what its like when it reaches full release and if things are still missing then there would be reason to complain. Before buying a early access product always take into account the fact that it is work in progress and there will be a long time untill all the features are implemented into the aircraft.
  10. its the same thing with the mig-21 (Ai can chaff/flare even without a pod) so its not a Viggen Specific issue.
  11. what area should be judging here? The level of realism of the module? The amount of fun it is? or how effective it is in combat etc?
  12. The AJS 37 is a very fun aircraft to have but how much you will enjoy it will depend on what you intend to do with it. The AJS 37 is a Air-ground aircraft aimed towards anti-ship and interdiction type missions and as such its supposed to get to a target (flying low and fast) deliver all of its ordnance in a single pass (or 2 if carrying guided weapons like AGM-65 or RB 05A) and then get out of there as quickly as possible. Due to this its not well suited for other air-ground missions such as CAS as its weapons / weapon delivery modes are not set up for that kind of mission which reduces the amount of targets you can destroy per sortie as compared to other air-ground aircraft such as the A-10,AV-8B Su-25 etc. But for doing anti-ship or interdiction type missions its a ton of fun. Hell one of the most fun things to do with the Viggen is using the thrust reverser on the ground and trying to land in the shortest distance possible. But before you decide on the AJS 37 do your research and think about what you want with it. If you want an aircraft that is fast and that has advanced systems and can do all kinds of air-ground missions while still being able to defend itself then you might want to wait for the F/A-18C. But if you want a 1970s design with the early generation hud/aircraft computer that is a bit more clunky (but more fun) to use that is made for a very specific task then im sure you will love the AJS 37. And as for the Mirage 2000C its a very fun fighter and can be effective against the other 4th gen Fighters as long as the pilot knows how to use the Mirage correctly and make up for its weaknesses (Being limited to 4 missiles and not having a Active radar or IR BVR missile). But again there the F/A-18C will not have those air-air weaknesses of the Mirage as it as it can carry the best missiles of the game (Aim-9X and Aim-120C) and can carry a large number of them. Though Ofc the F/A-18C is not yet out and we dont know how soon and it will also not be feature complete on early access release so will be missing plenty of features (For example if i recall correctly it will only have unguided air-ground weapons when released) But when it comes down to the AJS 37 vs Mirage it comes down to what you want the focus to be on Air-air or air-ground (as the AJS 37 is a air-ground aircraft that has Aim-9s for self defence and the mirage 2000 is a Fighter that can also do some air-ground with bombs and rockets) Edit: If you have already ordered the F/A-18C i would probably say go for AJS 37. Since with the F/A-18C for air-air there is less need to have the mirage (as the F/A-18C will have mostly advantages and they are the same generation of aircraft) where as the AJS 37 is so different and unique and has such a different feel from the F/A-18C that it will still have appeal even after F/A-18C release. (especially as it will take time for the F/A-18C to get guided weapons which will give the AJS 37 an advantage initially for some air-ground tasks).
  13. Well only certain delivery modes require target QFE for accurate delivery. No guided weapons require target QFE to be accurate for obvious reasons. and Low drag bombs , Rockets and gunpods can all be used together with Radar ranging thus removing the need for target QFE Only highdrag bombs need QFE to be used accurately. Sure some delivery methods for the Low drag bombs Rockets and gunpods need QFE but you can always fallback to the radar ranging mode if you dont have the QFE. So unless you want to do use the high drag bombs or do toss bombing with the low drag bombs then you have no need for target QFE.
  14. Well this has nothing to do with Razbam or the harrier though =P. Its simply a case that 1.5.8 stable never got the last update that was on 1.5.8 Open beta (that included these changes to the harrier). I very much doubt they will do any patches to 1.5.8 stable at this point either as they will update it to 2.5 very soon anyway.
  15. Without uncaging you have to keep the pipper on the target in order for the missile to keep the lock but if you uncage it when the missile gets good tone you have more leeway in manuvering without loosing the lock as the uncaged seeker will follow the target thus maintaining the lock. This is especially usefull in allowing you to set up lead shots on turning enemies etc. As you can put the pipper on the target untill the missile locks, then uncage the seeker and pull lead before launching so the missile does not have to turn as hard to hit the target once launched.
  16. In some ways a Jas 39A might actually be more classified then some versions of the Jas 39C. For example the Jas 39A uses the Swedish developed Datalink system that was based on the Datalink used by the JA 37. For the JAS 39C though the Datalink used depends on the customer. For example Both Hungary and the Czech republic (Nato members) have Jas 39C Gripens equipped with Link-16 (and thus lack the Swedish Datalink) in order to be Nato compatible (The Swedish Datalink and Link-16 are not able to communicate with eachother) so on that part a early Export Jas 39C might be easier in some ways then a Jas 39A. (Swedish Jas 39C has both the Swedish Datalink for communication with Swedish assets and Link 16 to be able to cooperate with Nato assets etc)
  17. I dont think servers should ban the Aim-54. But what they could do as we are getting numerous Aim-54 versions (AIM-54A-Mk47, AIM-54A-Mk60 and AIM-54C-Mk47) is restrict which ones are available (Especially for servers running earlier cold war scenarios etc) as the earlier Aim-54A´s should be easier to evade then the later Aim-54C (Especially at low altitude etc).
  18. How far along is its implementation? Can we expect the Lantirn on the initial release?
  19. IFF in dcs is simplifed to checking if you are blue or red. It does not actually take into account your IFF transponders etc. So in that way most IFF transponders dont work as they play no part in the game (so doest not matter if you have it off or if you have the wrong codes etc you will still show as friendly to friendly jets and enemy to enemy jets)
  20. Well apparently the instructions for the Last few years for the AJS 37 was that if any aircraft required major repainting (due to major wear or after repair/replacement of parts etc) it would have been painted grey. But as it happened none of the AJS 37s required major repainting during that time (just simple brush ups etc) so they stayed in their green splinter schemes.
  21. Well if we were to get a JA 37 then that would be the Obvious choice :smartass: Especially if it was a JA 37D then it would sweep the skies clear :smilewink:.
  22. Try going lower? I generally go to around 5-10m. Easiest way of doing that for long periods of time is getting down to around 15-20m (or as low as you are comfortable with flying manually) then enable the autopilot altitude hold and use the trim to take it down lower. Then level off then the autopilot read 005 (which means you are between 10-5m) or 000 (which means you are below 5m) and you should be safe enough. I dont think the missile should be able to track you when below 10-15m so simply stay that low untill you get to missile launch range pop up to 50m launch you missiles do a 90-180 degree turn at 50-100m then get back down to 5-10m after having leveled out. Minimum engagement alt for sams differ but the long range S-300 (and its naval version) should have a min alt of around 20-25m with closer range systems like the SA-8 and SA-15 (and their naval variants) having a min engagement alt of around 10m (Though SA-8 and SA-15 have a shorter range of 15km for the SA-8 and 12 for the SA-15 so you can launch the RB 04E without getting into their range) so if you close at 5-15m and launch your RB 04E´s at between 20-28km out you should be Ok as long as you dont stay high for too long during the pop up.
  23. Great update and im looking forward to all of it =) Especially the news about the BK 90. Just 1 question though. Do you guys have any ETA for when you might update the Visual models/skins for the RB24J and RB 75? (Replacing the Aim-9P5 model for the RB24J and making the RB 75 white)
  24. Well they "work" but in a different manner. In SP the BK 90 works as a glide cluster dispenser and releases submunitions (so it works like a BK 90 should) but in MP it currently works like a glide bomb instead since there are no submunitions but instead 1 large explosion. It is not as effective as it would be if it was modeled fully (hopefully that will still happen some day) but its useable in MP.
