  1. Just kidding boyz. This module is superB sheeeit. Keep it rolling
  2. Its probably a sausage hook for endurance flights.
  3. Whats that chrome meat hook for?
  4. Hi ED, what about some storage space to save user control profiles (few extra bytes) so in case of trouble we can pull them back to game. That would be awesome, don't you think?
  5. Tunguska. With that missile its possible to blew up the M1.
  6. RBK-500 SPBE-D could be a counterpart of CBU 97/105 series. It would be nice to have them in DCS since CBUs do give ground force strike capability advantage. https://armamentresearch.com/rbk-500-spbe-cargo-munitions-employed-in-syria/
  7. Interesting topic, I must say. What came to my mind is the number on far end of speed charts. At max speed in level flight engine T/W ratio is in equilibrium with airframe drag reaching terminal velocity. Weight is irrelevant in this case as it is in equilibrium with lift and matching AoA at max speed conditions to maintain level flight and more weight can only decrease acceleration to terminal. All test subjects are supersonic so airframes are drag polished up for that regimes meaning that all are in same league. Since initial test were framed in conditions of pure vertical 90deg climb acceleration measurement at T/W>1 (1.2), there should be correlation with airframe max speed (doesn't matter IAS or TAS as those are atmosphere dependent) to evaluate engine performance eliminating lift vectors gain from airfoil in vertical acceleration or climb records in lower climb angles. That's why AoAs are probably different for each climb record but that's not the focus here. There is also factor of different drag values at AoA sweep per airframe that could indicate loss of kinetic energy in turns which is also out of scope of this test. Also there is a factor of engine economy, meaning that the more fuel is consumed the less weight is to counter at climb envelope which means that T/W ratio is accelerated on thirstier engines. In pure vertical climb free body diagram, lift is replaced with thrust force countering the gravity force, and booth the drag and thrust are altitude codependent. What this test simplified looks like, for me, is pure rocket climb test, core engine power against gravity at same T/W start conditions enabling positive acceleration. If some airframe has greater max speed and lower fuel economy, doesn't that indicates better acceleration at T/W ratios greater than 1, considering engine max performance already proved against supersonic drag?
  8. Bullseye Balkans Why? Diversity of terrain types. No large flat areas where nothing can't hide. Lot of mountain ridges. Northern part icy southern cooked. Thousands of islands, literary. In war since dawn of man, actual Stanley's Kubrick monkey scene inspiration. West is Blue east is Red, sunlight Doppler effect ready. Three religions on bullseye, insurgents approved. Stealth tech defeated by hacked sa2 missiles, ready for F117, F22, F35, B2 etc. modules. Apache boneyard would get a second chance. Was part of Falcon, deflected Viper pilots remastering ready. Owen Wilson chased by Strela-10 missile for 3 mins, at least he felt that long. Kennedy's call from past to devs: “Choose to go to the Balkans in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of your energies and coding skills in DCS, because that challenge is one that brave are willing to accept, one persistent are unwilling to postpone, and one which you intend to win, and players too, either Red or Blue.” WWII Extra: Even my grandma saved downed B17 pilot from Germans, God bless her soul. 9. @cfrag You're the king! Implementing and testing.. Edit: Is your "dcsCommon" script extrapolated from egg. Mist or just your own? Is it mandatory?
  10. Tnx man. I'll check it. Edit: I was thinking of like not using visual recon mode from cockpit rather scripted solution that just places markers on map weather AI or player driven plane or even ground unit is scanning thru. All based on moving detection zone. Think it needs some scripting approach. Tx on reply anyway.
  11. I want to make a recon mission. Simple setup. Map only. Moving zone on recon flight (ground scout unit) that will place F10 markers (timeout able) with detected target info (position and vector) as soon as enemy unit enters moving zone. Is that possible in DCS? MASTER ARM Ground_CAS_Recon_Syria_v1.0.miz
  12. DL vs GCI is like graphical vs vocal. I prefer vocal cos I can use my eyeball scanner freely. Let them call AI GCI mmmmm Igor. Anyway, if ED somehow places DL in fullfid 29, no big fuss. They can fake it just for "balance" sake. There's no flight sim module certification institute on this planet in a first place. Its a kind of gameish sim. Right? Maybe plane spotters could be ears grid input combo with EWR grid cover or SAT, even recon flights. I feel that those elements are missing for good defensive experience in DCS especially for MiGs. When I think twice, best combo could be LotATC + VoiceAttack kind of interface for vocal AI GCI. Who knows? We shall see the outcome of this module when its about to be released anyway.
  13. Take this view for example. MiGs are deigned to work with ground GCI assistance in RL. If there's no DL on 29 export version, why wouldn't a module developer "invent" the GCI AI that comes along with the module just as 14 has Jester in back seat? AI is not a thing really. Add some Russian accent and there you go. Things balanced. I mean, the lone module thing is not self sufficient in Red side by design, so why not introduce that RL approach around the module in DCS?
  14. I feel that some discussions on this forum are going in direction of "nerving" the combat opponent by unconfirmed arguments that can't be officially confirmed in a first place. Technically, any manufacturer can make any missile fit on any large enough airframe. Question is what version of MiG29 DCS wants in based by their choice and their manuals selected. Nerfing the module for some players to feel more comfortable in dogfight is counterproductive. Are we looking for technological supremacy or flying skills uplift. Selecting the "weaker" opponent is not going to make you better pilot, right? Do you want to push the button and chew the popcorn while watching the scoreline or really learn something new by getting in trouble?
  15. Dust at spool up is glowing in dark giving up location.
  16. This: and this: Wouldn't it be awesome new feature?

  17. Check this fight out 3rd try ever, 1st time against 4x AI aces, rare Huey flyer, miss the nr3 life check, lot of fun..

    Longer wake

even if it goes straight its still noticably longer than in game.
  19. jackmckay

    Longer wake

I was just kidding on ED side. Add english with russian accent and it will sound better just trolling a bit. I usually land carrier by feel. Wake? Those tiny ones could be longer as if it was calm sea it should have been dragged really far behind and wide. Though foam color is faded..

DCS life is hard. Thats why we make things harder. You think youre not hard enough? we'll make it hard enough for you. we simulate harder! this is hardcore gaming industry after all.
  21. Same machine, W7/W10, W7 runs faster, everyone knows it. W10, machine is overloaded by bw, less resources to play very hardware-demanding software, less fps - less player's pleasure. my view. Thing is that users cant change much about that as market idiocracy gains its ground. Manny are forced to comply, so prob is ED too.
  22. Some very important hardware still operates on much much older OSs. No worries mate. just to the point of this migration thing alternative maybe it would run better on Lin native compiled? doubt theyll try/do it but anyway. it doesnt mean DCS will stop working after MS stops W7 support but rather the fuss that manny players now have to lose their time for what.. whats better 'new' if that old is still working fine?
  23. Lol. Reconsider said. W3 was run on DOS6 in a first place. Why running something that runs on something else? that is impossible and evelasting task doomed to fail from start. Theres old saying. Dont fix if it aint broken. Next one goes - dont sell broken things, its bad for reputation.
  24. Why not compile DCS on Linux? Unless is all about user data harvesting business behind. Yep, it takes an expert to deal with that bloatware in W10. Few people are good in that. In old days games used to work just fine without updates and reverse telemetry. Those degrading security of OSs are not regular people but OS manufacturers behind. They just want to have artificial purpose. Its like you want someone to built your home but he allways keeps comming back for some repairs. That what W10 is. W7 was kind of moderate and acceptable in that data harvest frenzy. Thats why those concerned about their safety and privacy are still on it.
