  1. how can i do it wrong when i bring her up alive  ok i have no expensive rudder and brake pedals, only my FFB stick with twist....enough for DCS, hahaha. anyway, the inflight model feels not so much different from IL2 :smilewink:. the behaviour like a spring when flying in turbulence is the same as in IL2. never thought this should be realistic. Brick flying over 20000m is also there :D
  2. Sollwertfernverstellung means you could set a different max. or min. cooling flap setting. the normal thermostat control is´nt enough or lets say suboptimal in extreme condition as we know from old cars where you can use additional radiator flaps for cold weather. In sibiria or Alaska with -40°C the normal thermostat control isn´t enough, so trucks and other bigger engines have radiator flaps . At old cars up to the 80´s a special cooler cover at the front end was common in wintertime. so this additional thing was perhaps a way to move the automatic cooler flap range some degrees more to full open and some degrees to full close to help the thermostat and let the engine run in normal temp range. without it the thermostat opens and due to extreme cold air the differences in coolant up and downstream could be to extreme which is not good for engine material...unequal material lengthen was a problem all the time with those "high end engines" ("hochgezüchtete Motoren") for that time !, sry for my english. If i were the engineer i would do this in that way, but a bit strange there is no word about this thing in a manual ? perhaps the pilot uses it in this way (i would do it so;-) ,haha) After warming up the engine he watch the both coolant temps and they will know what it´s should be in "normal" conditions, lets say 105°C. If the temp is much below or above he moves the radiator flap range in the way that normal temps are given. Than he knows the engine temp would be in normal conditions at flight only by automatic thermostat control, and he have not care further. could that be ?
  3. i have now Geforce driver 344.48 and with it these 2 things work. bad thing is...i need a loupe to read the Online server list .....hahaha
  4. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=132822
  5. I bought the P51 read the manual, take her off, flied and was very impressed, and i am every time i fly her, mostly Online. Than i bought the Dora, read the manual, learned to start and land and fly her Online too. It´s flyable and not bad but the P51 is a class of it´s own, imho.
  6. only thing which i fear very much after flying some hours Dora and P51 Online is that a plane with a fat slow gun will suck in this game. I remember when the first MK108 comes out in IL2 and wow they did it well and all these sudden enemy explosions after only 1-3 shells were such impresive that after another 5-105908 Oleg patches :) the gameplay changed in that way that most players switched back to the 20mm. which was right or not...i dont know but these few months or a year when the 30mm appears new were so impressive....hahaha , b&z in that the whole enemy fills your little 109 windscreen and Boom...flying through a fireball and sometimes u get damage by all these wreck things flying around you. greatest time in all that years !
  7. it´s not new to use this downsampling. I remember we use it in Cliffs of Dover too since years with some changes in game.ini file. but thx for the input, i forgot this all. Loaded newest driver and did play a bit with settings: best solution for me is max sampling from 3840x2160 to half which is native 1920x1080. smoothness is 0% . dots are a bit earlier to see when looking against sky and streets. But over green its near the same as before, imho. It´s pretty hard to find dots at long angle against ground which i find is one of the reason why i loose so often the spot of my enemy in DCS. I noticed over green that the P51 Dot is about 2 mousewheel clicks later to see as the Dora´s. In air it´s no difference. But someone else has to test this again...havent so much time and i´m old :pilotfly:but remember long discusssions in IL2 threads about this dot visibilty ranges :music_whistling:
  8. lol, i know that we fly at high altitudes faster and i wrote it above but we fly faster because we are in thin air with lower drag. I agree when flying in highspeed rudder force has to increase a bit but in DCS and many other sims&games it increases always when flying higher even at near the same speed simulating you near a stall so force have to be high? on groundlevel it´s ok but in thin air it´s very much different i think. Perhaps it´s near the effect the P51 has with full middle tank..it become reverse feeling of Force Feedback and sluggish. perhaps it´s the easiest and best way to ask a real P51 pilot if he can tell something about stick forces in higher altitude flying .
  9. agree with larger deflection in thin air but why heavier stickforce ? I sit in a biplane and rudders force dont increase much the whole way when on the ground. So why they should in thin air ? more deflection for same reaction as in thick air is quite right but force ?
  10. i cant find these mentioned green lamps for IR-jammer when i awitch them on with lshift+e and the other green lamp whith E when pods on a SEAD configuration. When i press lshift+e i see 2 red lamps above the horizontal/vertical display. what did i wrong ?
  11. I noticed in near all flightgames an increase of FFB when flying on higher altitudes and after a point stalling appears. So that belongs to P51 too and perhaps all others, and if i´m totally wrong pls explain to me why. For my understanding in high altitudes the air is thinner and if a plane flies with the same speed as on groundlevel the force of the rudderinput has to decrease. If you climb higher and higher or loose power and speed than your rudder has to become sluggish, effectiveless and therefore no FFB should be there....like in a stall when the plane becomes more and more the tendency to fall out of the sky. Am i wrong with that and why? In DCS and most other Games/Sims the FFB increase and increase even before stalling (i mena not high speed stall). This behaviour reminds me very much to IL2 when we called some planes in that altitudes flying bricks. Stick becomes heavy like hell and evry input gives a shutter for stall. I know mostly you fly faster in higher altitudes which is normal due to thin air and less drag, but the developers bring the increasing rudder force which is right in low level up to the higher altitude...which i think is in some degree very wrong. I think it should be reverse, when the plane looses its lift than the rudder FFB has to be light and sluggish. Or with other words: I like to feel to fly in thin air and i think real pilots do. In DCS with higher altitudes you feel flying more and more in a mud. Or is my old MS FFB2 stick the wrong thing.
  12. thx very much ! i like that plane but i know there are some secrets which i hope you will show in your vids. I noticed in a Online Mission to use this Phantasmagoria pod for SEAD mission with normal rockets...because the KH58 and KHL25mpu were not available from missionbuilder. You search with the pod "I" button and when locate a SAM or other Radar you switch out "I" and target is shown on normal groundattack for your rockets.....unfortunately these rockets has only half or 1/4 of range from the SEAD rockets; which makes it really hard and most times i see Hawks or missiles running direct to me before i´m in range to fire my rocket. Anyway, those things i wish to show in your vids ! And some usefull joystick or keybord mapping. f.e. i have no HOTAS, only old FFB2 stick and i tried to place the control of the left Monitor in cockpit on my mouse, but without success. Now i use strg+my coolie hat to move the sight around the area.
  13. did i mention i have trouble ? no i mention how i take off ! btw. it´s just a game based on my old LockOn and the Dora reminds me a bit to much on the IL2 Dora.....cockpit bar ....hahaha hundreds of thread sites :D
  14. On page 28 in this thread i suggest to look at these wheel dampers on DORA. i think with them is something very wrong. you can see them sink in a lot when the plane comes down from repair. But when you load than a Bomb or a drop tank it just jerks a bit but the dampers didnt sink in, or only very very little. So this says to me there is no damping space left for landing or rough surface. Compare it to the P51 or SU25....they undercarriage dampers works fine with every loadout. i enjoy it too ...but the P51 a lot more in take off, flying and landing behaviour. SU25T seems also good simulated for me.
  15. little funny boy or what ? what i wrote was my way to take off this thing..the same way i do with P51 and all other planes i flew in most games. And further more i have books were the pilot is mention he take off only with half throttle (was a 109) because he dont like the much torque effect of the DB605, furthermore he thought it is better for "his" engine. It should give up full power when he need it and not at any take off....in russian front spare parts and engines wre rare ! so why are some DCS people so arrogant ? And asking one ex Dora Pilot who is really nothing....ask 10 pilots and you will become min. 5 complete different answers ! I dont care what game writers tell in handbooks...i learn it my own way and find the 2500rpm or a 2700 at grass is perfect...for me. Anybody should find his own solution. i take of and land the ****iong Dora with crosswind at 8m/s but it´s behaviour is bullshit....ok for you it´s realistic :D
  16. i slowly increase power to max 2500rpm to reduce this dancing, runways are long enough and this gives me more time to counteract some stupid plane behaviour.
  17. i agree with that dancing...torque and gyro in one direction is ok but in DCS the directions seems to change during take off and im allways working with rudder like in an old WW1 bird. Landing is not a problem without crosswind, but with it i have muuch trouble in Dora and often BOOM :-) because i couldnt get her straight and only a little deflection with wheels and it jumps ...BOOM. P51 is much more forgiving.
  18. except when crosswind is heavy...i use brakes at take of and landing...otherwise BOOM :D but what i miss or what is bad for only users without having pedals is the circumstance that by pressing a button for left or right brake you cant dosage nor do a good differential braking....BOOM again.
  19. same here...time to do SU25T lessons :-) Dotfight Combat Simulations :-)
  20. yes you are right, the Dora seems simulated with much less input and effort as the zoo baby P51, no wonder because no one is flying but they could ask the FW190A5 owner in USA with same wings, wheels and dampers. you will notice that unrefined simulated plane in many things. P51 is a contrast like day and night....which i like veery much because it´s the best simulated plane i ever flew in a PC GAME ! ah, yes i´m a whiner, hahaha. now to the point why Dora ingame sucks so much in start and even more in landing behaviour. Imo the reason is they made the wheel dampers nearly not working or more like a feather than a damper. german planes like 109 and 190 were optimized for grass surface...try that in a DCS Dora and you will see that´s even harder as on cement runway. But that´s BULLSHIT. Im sure they know that very well and hopefully the fix this damper problem. You also can see that the dampers are much to hard when loading a 500kg bomb, the planes jerks a bit bit the dampers sink in only marginal. Load a P51 or SU25 and you will notice a much softier nicer simulated wheel damper behaviour when loading. This shows why they dont work when touch down or wheels are running through a rough surface (grass). Grass is softier than cement but with no dampers or only simulated feathers it´s a trampoline. In Cliffs of Dover there are only grass runways and i think they simulated this surface and the plane behaviour very well especially when take off or landing a 2mot plane. But of course the 109 is perhaps a bit to easy to land. In real a Dora pilot very much feared enemies like P51 and not the take off or landing....in DCS it´s vice versa :D I saw a 190A landing a few years ago live and filmed it....look here at the ned of video min. 9.41 on. if this real 190 had the DCS simulated dampers and undercarriage it would have jumped 10m up and ended in a explosion like DCS´s 190 pilot´s often do, hahah. ... we have something to challenge when DCS´s 109K bounce along ....Spitfire fan´s should be frightend too :-)
  21. i flew her 3 hours ... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128072&page=5
  22. Multiplayer is indeed a must for DCS to become more interest for players !! chatroom netcode different rooms for each theatre mission settings and player names i flew many years IL2 or WW2 Fighters or Lock ON with Hyperlobby and i miss DCS there ! http://hyperfighter.sk/
  23. THIS !
  24. you miss my point. i was asking about the possibility to have 45° snap views every time i switch the coolie hat f.e. to left side and back. This is very well known as a standard in many other sims or games....but i remember it doesnt work in LockOn.
