A piece of pine tree. The Viggen flies low. Just below treetop level.

The manual and some other sources mentions how you are supposed to be able to set a TOT for bx8 by setting TID/IN and then entering HHMMSS and confirm with BX in order to set it. I have however been unable to do so, and I wonder if it's yet to be implemented, is broken or perhaps is being done wrong by me? Could somebody shine some light on the matter please? :)

GTX 980 viable for flying in the persian gulf?
JanTelefon replied to JanTelefon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Cool! Really helpful info guys. Thanks! Där hör du Johan. Bara att köpa nu. :) -
Before the update, launching when the line was outside the markers made the BK-90 glide harmlessly over the target not doing anything. I haven't tested launching early since the update. Still, one should launch within the parameters...

I also have the same issue. Good thing it's not just me. I was worried I had gotten even worse...

[REPORTED] RWS radar stabilization and tracking loss
JanTelefon replied to KungFu's topic in Bugs and Problems
"Can't reproduce." That's your answer ED? There's an entire community crying out for a fix of a game-breaking bug introduced by your update that wasn't even tested for a single flight. Had you done that, the keybinds bug would have been found. Forgive me for not thinking you have tested very much regarding this topic either. The community is falling over itself trying to help in fixing the bug, providing track files and descriptions in an effort to help. And your response is "can't reproduce". That is simply offensive and disrespectful to the community. -
[REPORTED] RWS radar stabilization and tracking loss

I have the same issue. Makes blowing bandits up WAY harder. -
Yes. "Features" are the worst, even though this was somewhat easy to mitigate.

I noticed one thing in the guide. Not sure if it's been mentioned in the thread. When engaging with rockets, the rockets naturally have their dynamic pipper. I am however quite sure that the gun cross is boresighted and not a pipper that tells you where the rounds will land like the A-10C does. This is on page 124 in the guide. Thanks for great guides.

Also, the trim slows down with slower framerates which is also a DCS issue.
-
Were these changes implemented in todays update?
-
Smashing good job sir! A great addition bringing DCS closer to what it should be.

I haven't flown the Viggen for quite some time, but I seem to recall that if you drop the BK-90 outside of the drop range (indicated by the horizontal line on the bottom of the HUD) the BK-90 will release but, as you describe, glide over the target without dispensing. Make sure you are within drop range and please tell me if it works. :)

** AJS-37 Changelog / Update Master List **
JanTelefon replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Could we have an update of the first thread on what has made it into the last DCS versions please? Prefferably both 1.5 and 2.0. Thanks. -
Bug - RB-04E is not working on this latest update
JanTelefon replied to edineygomes's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think the ships might be to close together. I'm not sure what the depth separation needs to be, but it might be more than that. This is tech from the 60:s after all. :) -
I think the key is in "dynamically spawned AI that route themselves and cross large distances". In that case I believe it's hard to designate a waypoint as offroad, and that workaround wouldn't work. Since they're already working on updating the map this is an issue well worth adressing. It's a rather large issue causing quite a bit of headache for the people trying to create substantial and fun content for DCS, which can be quite the uphill battle.

I'm pretty sure the function to track a moving ship isn't properly introduced yet. I remember trying it out a few months ago using instructions from the real life AJS-37 SFI (manual) and it didn't perform as expected at all. I am however somewhat sure you should anly have to either transfer the target and mark it once more after a certain time, or mark it twice in SPA/SKU mode. I could however be wrong. I haven't tried it since and I haven't been able to find any info saying it's properly implemented, so my guess is that it still isn't properly done... sadly.

PSA: the book "System 37 Viggen" is now available online as PDF
JanTelefon replied to renhanxue's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Awesome! I actually managed to get the printed version about a year ago, but this is a good thing to keep in my tablet. :) -
That depends on what you mean by bug. If you mean that there's a big explosion instead of submunitions, that's just the way it is for now. As far as I know there are limitations within the DCS framework that hinders it from working like in real life. If you mean something else that is a bug, you will have to elaborate more.

On your box... Is it rotary switches, rotary encoders or potentiometers?
-
What drove me away was a lot of stuff including, but not limited to, the underpowered flight model, the issues with re-arming, some weapons (RB04, RB15, BK90) not working properly, the lack of some, or not properly working, finer points like Time On Target, Recon mode (skuggning) or proper VR use of the Maverick sight. There were a lot of things off with the Viggen, and I simply want to know the general opinion on how the plane works currently.
-
Hey! I haven't flown the Viggen or DCS at all for quite a while. The many issues have driven me away time and time again. I am however thinking of picking it up again, so my questions are these: What state is the Viggen currently in in DCS 2.0? Is it working for simple navigation and strike missions? Which weapons work in multiplayer and which don't? Is it generally broken? What about the HUD? Were there any updates to the Viggen in todays update? I thank you very much in advance for any information you can give. Have a good one! :joystick::pilotfly:

Amazing VTOL VR game to see what DCS virtual hands could offer!
JanTelefon replied to Fri13's topic in Virtual Reality
I really like that game as well, and I can't wait for when gloves with motion sensors are available. That way you could still fly with a stick and throttle but also flick switches as needed without picking up a touch controller. The future looks very promising though. :D -
Great find! Let's hope it's implemented soon.
