  1. That fixed it, but there was no mention of these files.
  2. Looks like I fail integrity check for these: bazar/shaders/model/functions/vertex_shader.hlsl scripts/aircrafts/_common/cockpit/elements_defs.lua bazar/shaders/model/functions/impostor.hlsl I don't think I did anything there, and the current install I have like for a year or so on the stable release (only), and I update regularly, wonder why updater didn't detect those. Perhaps I need to do repair?
  3. Another video here: When mouse is not seen and the top of the joystick is, then I switched over to the POW SWITCH movement, (happens to be mapped to these joystick's buttons, different device) and there is no lag-bug here, because holding it down keeps moving the camera then it will completely spin around, but the spins are smooth irrespective of FPS, nothing like with the mouse. The effect isn't seen immediately, and harder through a video, but looking at it for some time starts to make out there's a "lag" going on which is NOT tied to the FPS, it's not smooth in 1:1 mouse movement. I tested on a Core i5 2xxx and the bug doesn't seem to happen there, only slightly but I wasn't able to confirm if it's really the same thing, basically it would go slower if you would start slow and keep speeding up, it would go slow and than the view would snap and catch up, but pretty minor effect.
  4. Not at all. Even tho I have suggested that if funds are needed and it's really honest about the core upgrades, I would accept some kind of way to cover for the upgrades so that it doesn't make all the modules cost more, There's really been an influx of these corporate culture ideas lately, this is what I've been warning 2 years ago, as DCS gets more popular. To spin FC4 off to MAC as a standalone install has probably been the best key decision and it's already foreshadowing returns on investment :) Looking back when I started in 2014 I kinda feel bad having those rookie ideas myself at the time, I should have taken it more seriously myself from the get go. I guess the association isn't the best and it perhaps shouldn't say "Free To Play" on the main site, some kind of a unique term, not easy to coin and be self explanatory, Steam stuff is probably standard and sellers can't change the actual string to something custom I think? No? Conditionally Free? Even if the circumstances are a bit more complicated, I think the base download actually counts as a DEMO. Except, it's the same install as a fully moduled one.
  5. Doing some other stuff meanwhile, played a CAS mission with F18 in caucasus. Seems like that it's some part of the engine under strain it affects mouse (maybe also keyboard) inputs. There's no trees here on lots of units, but they are off screen 20 miles away doing all kinds of activity. So it's not just tree rendering it self causing this, it's not FPS, it's not GPU. You can see how smooth it goes when I use the Joystick POV to move the camera. I keep holding it one way so it goes around and around. While when it's going side to side that's how I'm moving my mouse, so those long pauses aren't laggies, you can see when I move the mouse from one side to the other it will be choppy for a moment, it's actually harder to see on video than it is when I'm actually doing it. Just moving with the mose already goes slower, as if some signal isn't being received, like some kind of drag. At heavy times the camera moves super slow, 10% of what the mose is moving, then when it releases it suddenly goes very fast so those glitches are quite noticable. Not the best example, I'll do another one later. I'm just going to do a proper video with the actual mouse in side view, comparison, should have done that ages ago.
  6. I think the core community made it "clear" quite some time ago as well as I heard FC-3 level aircraft are not on plans for DCS, I agree, my answer is no, even tho I mistakenly hit Yes. For MAC it's another thing, but for DCS I don't think there's a need for a lite-version before the full one gets out, besides, isn't the EA-version already more-or-less a lite version.

  8. Except when beta breaks, like it did in the past, you don't want to switch branches just out of precaution, IDK what it does whether it really copies and overwrites, or it just "switches" if it sees existing configs for the release version. You could get away with it by manual managing things, but that's probably why this isn't officially supported AFAIK because of that risk.

My main point is, trying to prove this things takes a lot more than a few random youtube channels posting a few random potato quality videos. Even if the non-hard evidence (circumstantial) is there, and it is valid type of evidence for courts (althought hard always seem to outweight) you still have a long way to get hard evidence, because in the end it could all be a hologram or some kind of a interference in the atmosphere/space, it You have rare cosmic events such as the recent mercury transit (2016 and 2019) that won't happen again until 2032, what about the other such events, that might have some energetic effects and do some weird stuff to weather, geologic activity, gravity, etc that may we don't know about yet? Too much jumping to conclusions. https://mercurytransit.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/2019/movies/Mercury19_AIA96s_171/In/Mercury19_AIA96s_171_In.mp4 Also, about the ISS feed and "UFOs", you can clearly see in the video above there's a layer of noise that is seen, white-yellow dots appearring allover the place, that's all normal sensor background noise, due to the sensor design, age, etc and radiation and other normal things affecting the sensor and it's electronics, memory chips, etc, so whenever some UFO appears on the ISS cams, it could just be a normal glitch from a lot of possible factors. And if NASA is really cutting the feed, then they should explain it and go to the lawmakers and tell them, but the exploitative channels rather want to keep the drama going. There's far better clues of extraterrestrials in history, lore and archeology than random blobs on a 240p heavily compressed video ... have you thought about pyramids? Egyptians with sticks and ropes placed the stones with sub-millimetre precision?

Here we go agaaaain ! https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/weird-news/government-forces-nasa-cut-iss-20839773 I'm sure Drudge doesn't fall for it even tho he seems to be giving it much attention for the past year, because it does sound so interesting, but why it's all always coming from UFO monetized spammer channels, where is any actual analysis, some kind of a document going step by step, it's all wrapped always into a scarry-sounding video, the media definitely fall for this or they purposelly jump on the bandwagon (drama=profit) but act like they're dumb. The kid that runs that channel (at least one of the channels) is like what 19 years old now, and sells T-Shirts claiming to be this "authority" on everything UFOs for a period of years, but nobody else catches what he can, probably others hopped on the idea by now, there may be some real interruptions in the NASA ISS feed, since they installed 4K streaming, bug and interruptions happen with all such things, especially where you have long range signals involved, weather, spaceweather, all the factors that impact the signal quality, yes it could be all 100% real but I've been studying fake channels for a long time, I know how they operate, so the other 3 options beside real, are it's either something else (space junk, rocket launch, etc) it's reported and hyped up as an UFO, second the interruption is real but due to normal signal/technical issues and they fake the UFO it self, or both they basically fake the interruption of the feed whether or not something questionable appears, which makes it more dramatic than just purely an UFO. There is no "team" behind such channels, they use scripts and special software to create bots which run 50-200 channels at once, in other cases too it could all be one teenager who spent a few extra hours in photoshop for those kewl logos and channel art, and the bot software, there could be more channels one person runs ofcourse. Even if there's some real stuff in there, which there probably is, they would exploit everything for profit, mixing it with fake stuff discredits the whole thing, makes it harder to figure what's real, and lowers the standards of people actually critically analyzing this stuff. Disclosure: I'm purposelly not linking to that particular guy, but my claims come from his own channel where he actually is on camera him self walking down the street thanking his fooled viewers, this was like a year or so into it, he got tons of views and got more brave to reveal himself talking about merchandice for the channel and "buy my T-shirts". (he thinks he's unstoppable, classic teenager).
  11. So I got a new mouse, Razer Mamba, with new drivers, same thing is happening, I've been using another mouse with 100hz pollrate just for DCS for the past 2-3 years. It feels like it's happening when there's a lot of specific object rendering going around, particularly when placed units are burning, destroyed, or there's a lot of trees. I'm still doing further testing but it doesn't look like pure FPS is the issue, FPS goes down as a result of the strain, but I've had other low FPS scenarios without the lag, it looks like when a certain part of the engine gets strained it will mess with the mouse inputs for camera movement, as well as missing hits for keyboard keys. This does not happen if moving the camera with the HAT Switch (POV) on the joystick. I'll be testing on another PC and then I'll post more data to pinpoint in which conditions does it happen. Other people who have this issue should also try to see if it's happening only in certain circumstances, namily when flying low with 100% trees and round clutter.
  12. It's not a real technical if it's not Toyota
  13. Nah, I don't think RAM has anything to do with it, then I'd have the same thing when moving the camera with the HAT switch, and other games, which I don't. Windows shouldn't be a thing because I had the same issue on Windows 7 with a completely different mouse. Well that means it could be a HW issue, but not like a direct fault, just a configuration fault, so it kinda goes back to DCS to it's support, it can only be my fault if DCS has a list of hardware configs that it supports and if I don't have that config. It could be the sound card, since most people don't use HW audio these days. I'll rather test this on another PC first. RAM speed is AFAIK mostly for max FPS but the timings go up so latency is quite small in my case. Either way I wouldn't invest into 2400 Mhz for DDR3 as all the budget will rather go to a new PC. I made a thread here I'll post more findings later: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4103081#post4103081
  14. BAH NOOOOOOOOO !!! We don't need microsoft's nose in everything :puke::puke::puke::puke: Isn't the whole point of DCS uniqueness the non-procedural maps, that's the biggest freaking advantage !!!!
  15. Devs: Don't forget about BC7 texture compression !!! At least for the cockpit, if not the liveries as well. Yes memory requirements go up, but worth it, cockpit is the most focused on and zoomed in place, perhaps optional graphics setting. http://www.reedbeta.com/blog/understanding-bcn-texture-compression-formats/ https://github.com/GPUOpen-Tools/Compressonator
  16. I'm seeing it has something to do with how many stuff is rendered, not necessairly FPS, but the forrest seem to be impacting it hugely. I'll double check again with the 100-hz mouse, actually before I finally opened the wallet for a proper mouse and mousepad I used 2 cheap mouses for a few months, one of them broke already, threw it away, I have the new setup for 2 months and didn't play DCS on the 100hz mouse for like 3 months until like a few weeks ago, so maybe things improved IDK, but it looks like the forrest is spiking it very much. I'll probably post more in the bugs section about this once I troubleshoot it with more data. Try setting forrest to 100% and go into caucasus on the most heavily forrested area, and fly low as possible, so your radius covers the most forrested area which will enable more forrest to render. One key thing I'm suspecting as far as general optimization goes, I'm afraid the game may be rendering all the forrests even the ones off screen or over a mountain :( Perhaps this bug springs up when a particular part of the engine is being hammered.
  17. I like the fact it's simply called Black Shark 3, keeping it classic, to the point, no gimmicks
  18. I think the "whole world" idea is more like a professional training thing where if some countries order some airplanes and a piece of software to train pilots they would kinda pick their own back yard to train in, which wouldn't be that much detailed, I don't see the immediate professional entertainment value of modelling the whole world unless it's a civilian flight sim, but hey not saying it's not impossible or that it wouldn't be interesting. About Crimea, it's understandably a special case, but I think it's actually good that it got delayed because we might have perhaps two version of Crimea, the old and the new with all the highways and railroads.
  19. It shouldn't get all the way down to a FPS, an upgraded CA experience is already out there, out of flight sim, but I guess DCS's vision may not be just flight sim, hence the name doesn't include anything that limit it to just flight. You would get more people in that will demand more improvements to that area, and then it becomes another FPS circus, there's going to be people playing just FPS then, the whole engine would have to be done for FPS, it's a steep mountain if you try to do realism, proper gunplay is already not that simple and realism would mean all animations and all things have to sync up with physics and all the stuff, then what about damage, it would be all about the biology, how much can a body take, stamina, infection, blood loss, first aid, bullet physics piercing helmet physics, it's not just about slapping a FPS camera to a ground unit, but as soon as that is done, people will demand more and more, and crying about how "DCS FPS play sux". This is the case when having something extra is detrimental, it lowers the value of everything else that's great. Even the dynamic campaign RTS stuff is way outside of pure flight sim, but we all agree that a good theater is needed for a good flight sim experience, we all need to step back for a moment and look at what we already have branching out, there is a lot a lot lot lot of the stuff that can keep DCS busy with just the immediate theater around flight sim, groun unit bases, forward spotter, signal simulation, tower, comm, detection, comm interception, all kinds of cargo movement, transport, resuuply, basic base construction maintenance for the AI, wide body jets gunship or transport, paradrop units, vehicles, reinforcements, scavanging and savlage system being able to capture certain civilian/neutral facilities (not necessairly the static map objects) ED has already expanded way beyond what flight sim is already if we take a step beck, ground trains, even customizable in editor, I never thought I would see them, it's great, neutral tankers and ship stuff probably makes sense too, but too much of cookies way branched out feels spoiled, so there has to be a limit. Let's expand and focus on the closer branches, so we have trains, they could be expanded to provide actual gameplay mehanic transporting cargo ,supplies, ammo, units, fuel, and they would be actually commandable (NOT DRIVABLE) by the battlefield commanders, they would issue orders to train to go there or here and there would be some basic signaling like in real life so trains don't collide but that's it, no train-driver view needed. Chasing cookies will always end up in spoilment of the community, and just like sugar, it's addictive and can't get enough of it.
  20. Yes it's not only about FPS, I don't know, it's so weird, it sometimes lags if you go too far up vertical, also it may be if there's a lot of smoking ground vehicles destroyed. For me it just seems better than it was, but it's random, I was playing for hours a month ago and it got much worse in certain periods. Today's plays are far better, still need more testing. Can you give hardware specs?
  21. Is there anything that could be said about whether new Black Shark and A-10C will sport the modern BC7 texture compression format for the Cockpit and some of the new liveries, these are the primary things that get viewed up close so I think it's a no brainer, even if the RAM/VRAM cost is higher, it's wortwhile in this area, while the rest doesn't necessairly need to be in this format. BC7 DDS is just the final compression, shouldn't affect any work that has already been done, source textures are always much much higher in quality. The Memory industry is finally moving on to higher densities after the korean manufacturers were finally slapped for cartel behavior we will see thankfully prices go down or more density for the same price, meaning in 2-3 years 32GB of RAM and 16GB of VRAM may be the new normal. I don't think we should be looking at "gamer" segments, they haven't moved in years, where they mostly play these ever cheeper looking online games that don't need as much RAM, and use that as "the market standard", and it's all just 1080p. This is the thing I mentioned earlier, while it's all adjustable to lower end, but the higher end should be higher and if DCS sets itself apart, the hardware reviewers might finally take it into account when reviewing, something moves in that area hopefully.
  22. For some reason it took me so much time to actually remind to check about draw calls: Test: First 2-11-2019 Release version Nevada F-18C Free Flight ------------------- ///////////////////////////////////////////////// *********************************** ///////////////////////////////////////////////// Lesser difference than I expected as far as the pure number goes, the number doesn't mean anything it self, contextless, depends on how much the draw calls cost on a given API, for DX11, a lot, those extra 1000 draw calls are partially responsible for bringing down the FPS from 70 to 27.
  23. Fortunately these two are with double mehanic fuses. The one with a chemical fuse was the one from 2017, some 13 kilometers away to the east. The story of that is most unusual. There is a half destroyed castle on top of the Vurberk hill, and there lives a family nearby which was playing "treasure hunting" and the father actually had a real metal detector, after they found the bomb he loaded it into his pickup truck, drove into the front yard of their house some distance away, but on top of the hill pretty much in the vicinity, only then they called the police. He has also been charged with "public endangerment" by moving the bomb to the residential area, if convicted it's a 5 year prison sentence and I actually didn't check yet what happened with that case. They used the pulley system to move the bomb some distance away down the backway road into a prepared hole to direct the potential blast into the forrest.
  24. I just did a test myself and didn't get any inpact in the following conditions: Free flight Nevada Release version Will update later
  25. Update: Okay, I got it, it does this when frame rate is low, the lower the frame rate the more intense the effect is.
