  1. Stoked about DCS: A-10C Warthog 2, awesome to see the whole set being taken care of and so happy it was possible to extend the deal with the A-10C people, even tho A-10C is not anywhere close to retirement and got upgrades, I guess the older versions aren't as sensetive, but whatever it is it doesn't matter now for my speculation, I genuinely rolled around my chair and had a moment when I saw the new Warthog announcement, just great!
  2. It was nice to have a look, but it was just a look at the cockpit really, most of the time I spent setting up controls and going through the cold start and some other training without much flying and it's disabled now, so it's hardly been a trial in it's full sense, for me at least, I think I missed whole saturday.
  3. Super weird if you ask me, for a cover to have an action behind it. I was in a hurry ofcourse due to cirmustances, I'll have to go through the training missions tho, the time I have left. So I guess this thread is -> "NOT BUG"
  4. Sorry I was thinking of another thread but I put it here, not sure, I'm just new to F-14.
  5. I was flying mission destroy the bridges and the volume of the stuff in cockpit changed, warnings, the guy talking in the back, for no reason, there was SAM launch, perhaps the sam hit, but I see no visible damage. EDIT: Oh I do have a master caution.
  6. Seems like a bug to me. Release version, I only have trial period so in about a few hours I won't be able to test anything more AFAIK.
  7. Quick? It may be quick since the last OB, but not quick in general, but yeah I think it was timed/planned so that Release would be updated before year's end and yeah I'm happy for that!
  8. Yeah, it seems broken to me, can't see the target/steerpoint info, can't see the GUNS pipper when diving down, it gets to the top so much (or I did some unusual dives?) NATURAL HEAD MOVEMENT MODE HELPS - It's not activated by default, AFAIK.
  9. Well, I was wondering whether I'd get the stable update before year's end to check out the new A-10C cockpit, what a plesant xmas present today.
  10. Yeah, I had a big jonny bravo eyebrow looking at the "retail version" ... it's really gonna happen, DANG!!! A-10C Suite update all the way! (But it should come with another separate selection so we can play the old/existing suite too)
  11. Oh sure, I was suggesting long ago there could be some kind of a resource pack system, submodules with skins and stuff mainly to perhaps lower the size of the install, storage is skyrocketing so I guess it may not be that important anymore but so will the textures as things will move to even greated PBR with HDR and WCG. That idea was based on selectively/optionally downloading the rest of the module's liveries apart from the default primary one which would be tied to the module, while as in multiplayer or singleplayer if the one client does not have the skin the other client has chosen on his aircraft, it'll just use a replacement on the first client's end, while notifications and asterixes in servery lobby or scoreboards "TopGunFighter (Livery Missing)" or some suffix after the nickname or something would be added, but this is just a rough idea. Then user generated submodules could be added to that perhaps, after going through approval of standards, requirements, quality check etc.
  12. If only our hardwarez would allow us to put another graphics card in there for teh mirrorz :( ... oh look there's another XMAS present left unopened ... But anyway, let me think about that one, since multi-gpu setups faded as the benefits were limited and it hit all kinds of technical hurdles, there's something going on with checkered rendering method, and as DCS will be using and already is a lot more views, it's going to benefit from such a thing one that hopefully, it's not like only DCS has mirrors, but the idea I had here was kinda interesting if another GPU would for example help render the TGP and other views and it would be kinda feeded into the main GPU as passthru , if that's even possible without HW support and API (doubt it), and if it's not ready it would just send previous frame, but 1 frame of a mismatch is nothing and you would never tell the difference if your airplane is 10 meters closer to a target 5 miles away than the TGP view is showing it, and there be no those common multi-gpu issues of tearing and desync because it's another monitor inside the monitor, so whether it's out of sync or not wouldn't matter, except perhaps you might in some extreme case not see a missile early because it was 1 frame later on the mirror, again, it wouldn't matter at that point it's too close.
  13. Hmm, if the new cockpit is using PBR method and/or BC7 textures not sure if the old Photshop nvidia DDS plugin will work still, perhaps it doesn't matter but IDK, but the new cockpit source PSD texture was probably not released yet and it shouldn't be until the cockpit is finalized in the coming weeks. I'm sitting on Release version so I'm going to see later whether the texture compression is BC7, unless someone has an idea earlier?
  14. Lovely. There's quite a bit more to all of this but I can't remember it all in a short period of time hehe, I didn't expect I would end up making a whole wall there, but it's kinda like, one or two sentences doesn't do it justice, and it wouldn't substantially help anyone much, the nature of this thing is, as with any technical task, like DCS, complicated. Everyone knows that Calcium in Milk is for the strong bones right!!! Ah if it were so easy. Infact for bones the basic rule is that you need enough Magnesium, Calcium, D3, K2, Phosphorus and some Vitamin C. In commercial mass-produced milk I think there a low chance you'll going to get all of those in good amounts, and if they add Calcium they add it in a low cost form that doesn't even get absorbed well. But, here's the big deal, for maximum effectivness such groups should be taken simultaneously, as they work together, they should be taken together from the start. That's because some vitamins play like transporters for the other companion, without vitamin D3 the extra calcium will be useless, the body will store or dispose of it and the only more will be used if it has enough of the other stuff. If any of you guys played ANNO the RTS game from Blue Byte, the resource management there is a nice resembalance to this, you need iron and coal to smelt steel, that's simplifiedwe get the idea. Vitamin group ADEK A D3 E K2 - The ADEK group should also be taken simultaneously (or near), they also work together, and they're fat soluble, this means the body's fat digestion mechanism has to work to absorb them, and other minerals, which is harder, and some sick people have fat digestion malfunctioned so lack of absorbtion of these ends up making more health issues for them, so it's not just about taking loads of vitamins, it's many times fixing the gut function, by staying away from annoying foods that kill the frendly bacteria, staying away from high sour, high sugary and hot spicy foods, alcohol and similar. Well it gets more complicated. Vitamin A is just as usual, a group referring to more than one compound, the "beta-carotene" is the lesser effective plant version and the more effective (AFAIK) is "retinol" the animal version of vitamin A, and as with all vitamins they have other less known forms and versions too. But it's good to ofcourse have both, the body can also convert some back and forth, like ALA to DHA/EPA but only to a degree, where other factors play but those are not well know/understood to me at least. Vitamin C and Vitamin Bs are water soluble, which are easier to absorb and digest even for weakened people, but are quickly destroyed by heat and oxygen contact, so if it's not fresh it's a dead end. Vitamin C also has a few other forms, there is one special kind that can go thoguht fat and be absorbed into the skin, it's called Tetrahexydecyl Ascorbate. Zinc + Vitamin C also work together in the body, taking them together is also a good idea. I think in that brief post I forgot to mention brown rice is also a good idea to get carbs even tho it's not recommended for those suffering with candida and diabetes or pre-diabetes symptoms like dizzyness, pressure, different feeling, dirty energy (where you have so much energy you run around in circles very nervous) It's important to not overcook it again, to have it slightly less so it's a little bit to bite and chew, to keep the carbs from completely breaking down into simple sugars so the body get's the benefit of a larger range of them. Raw carbs is obviously way too complex for humans usually (AFAIK) and with potatos/beans toxic, so these terms are relative. Complex carbs are found for example in an unripe banana that's just starting to get yellow, for example, harder to digest, but there is benefit in a different way than if it were less complex in the beginning. I'm not sure if I did mention this or not, but I'll do it again then, eating neutral foods along the way to make a buffer between foods is my standard practice now, so whenever I would eat snacks, rice, or any sugary stuff I usally eat salads along the way, that's why modern snacking is so unhealthy, because raw carbs get in without any kind of fiber (buffer) to assist the gut, fiber is needed to also help movement, and if foods stay too long in the gut they start rotting and that produces even worse toxins than the body is usually exposed to (due to bacteria feeidng on the rot) and along with snacks it's usually soft drinks loaded with sugar yet again. I know from my self the single biggest thing that helped me was getting off milk products and bread, but also cooking the food slowly and on natural gas, I found induction cooking makes the food taste totally different as god knows what those electromagnetic radiation frequencies do to the food so I switched to natural gas mainly or plain old electric hot plate. The high magnetic fields could be messing with the molecules of the nutrients in different ways that was never properly investigated, the food looks the same, but the taste gives it a way and that's a bad sign, I'd stay clear of it.
  15. Wouldn't all the weapon physics have to be adjusted for the new weather engine? I guess the new weather engine might modify how wind and pyhsics then work, wouldn't it. Those weapons, and the aircraft themselfs probably would need some kind of changes to interact properly with the new weather, if that has any relation at all, IDK.
  16. Dustin Browder left Blizzard some time ago, lead designer of Starcraft 2 and a bunch of Command & Conquer RTS games from Westwood. Not sure if he's the right fit for ED tho, perhaps DCS needs a US development office in addition to, to my knowledge, mostly european ones, as I don't believe any potential US dev would willingly relocate to Moscow for a few years but I could be wrong. So it's Moscow, Belarus, and Switzerland too these days rigth? I think I heard a while back that Belsimtek was just a demo how to be a 3rd party. Still maybe worth a shot, just because those guys produce simple games doesn't mean they can't work on a bigger thing when the budget and ability/scope is provided to them. https://cnc.gamepedia.com/Dustin_Browder https://starcraft.fandom.com/wiki/Dustin_Browder
  17. I opted for this type of a thread because I have quite some things that I would want to talk about more in detail, but it's piling up, and I rather just have a breif overview of them perhaps they get taken care of without having me to go that much indepth with every one of them. Combined Arms needs some fixes for commanding units, teeling units the path where to go is the biggest problem because it applies the path on many different controls, most notably is the right click, I'm trying to deselect but it just applies a new path, when misclicking a new waypoint target, I think a simple fix to this easy is more urgent and shouldn't wait until the CA upgrade. Basically, just a way to easily deselect the unit without confirming a path, because clicking the SET PATH again also sets the path. Helicopters in CA (Ka50) take a long time to target an enemy, they keep circling, waiting/baiting the AA to fire, avoiding it but eventually getting hit, disobeying commands, hover and do nothing, approach the enemy too close instead of firing from max range, target and waypoint commands seem to be active at the same time, it either goes to something or it attacks, the unit seems confused what to do and just flies to some direction (when targeting artillery from 100 meters) When copying units in ME, the unit specific waypoint actions/task/option values should auto update to the specific unit that's being copies, but this may not always be wanted so an option shuld be placed in the ME or also through hotkeys, when copying for example Carriers with TACAN/ILS the value of unit ID will always be the same for all the copies, to the unit that was the source of the copies, which is not what anyone would want.
  18. Very impressive on the wing flex, I had no idea on this type of stuff.
  19. Thanks for report I just came across this and thought it was a bug, saved a false bug report on my side. I almost fell off the carrier on this one hehe
  20. Maybe an area that may need improvement as the number of models incrwase, but it doesn't bother me if it stays there.
  21. This is a pretty big detail that somehow isn't obvious, I spent like 2 hours today and ending up realising it's also "broken" for me. Perhaps after ME gets upgrade some of the labeling would get cleared up. EDIT: Well yeah it worked now for me too!
  22. I can't get invisible working either, I guess it's radar or AI invisible, not 3D model render invisible? I want 3D Model render invisibility so that it doesn't affect FPS for benchmark, I guess the only thing is to edit graphics scripts right?
  23. An article about it right on time
  24. I don't agree with that at all.
