Me too I'm waiting eagerly for that bird ! What I understand is that normally "2 more weeks" is a kind of joke ; but for the Yak-52, it happens to be (probably) true ;) Please note that Racoon is from ED Team.
-
I'm not sure to understand you correctly and especially why a prop aircraft is not suitable. If you can wait for 2 more weeks, the Yak-52, a prop trainer, might be released.

Hi Laivynas, Do you plan to work on a new campaign? If so, I don't want to ask for when but which map and which aircraft or helicopter? If it's too early to say, I would understand perfectly.

Hi Greg, Petritis and all the team :) It's never easy to keep a campaign working smoothly and flawlessly with all changes made to DCS (engine, terrains, aircrafts...). So many thanks guys for your dedicated efforts  And I hope all is fine with your relocation Greg ;)

Hi, I am running 2K and have the problem too. I would much appreciate if ED can fix this in the future.

Many thanks everybody for all your valuable inputs and views :) For your information, without flaps, with the right AOA (yellow donut displayed) I touch down on the deck at 160-170 kts. You said it all Talonx1  I'm not in a squad and I'm lazy but I'll now train to land with full flaps as per the procedure. Thanks again everybody for your kind help.

Hi all, I bought the Hornet recently and I'm practicing carrier landing. I have not practiced carrier landing since the days of Hornet 2.0 by Graphsim for Macintosh! In DCS I am using the instant mission provided. I can now land successfully. However I realize that I read too quickly Chuck's Guide. Indeed, during all my approach I don't use flaps and can manage easily the AOA (maintain the yellow "donut"). I'm used to doing that way now. I tried to deploy the flaps as per the procedure but flying the approach become then more difficult: need more power and correct trimming. I am seeking for thoughts on that, and especially: is it OK to land on the carrier without using flaps?

Salut Chuck, Mille merci pour le manuel du F-18 et un très profond respect pour toi et ton travail. Please, put a Paypal button somewhere so that many of us can send you a beer, pal! Nowadays, there are many interesting YouTube videos, but for me good (excellent) manuals like yours still rule :smilewink:

Greg, Maybe you should post your explanation in a separate sticky post for good visibility. You might put something like "Argo Campaign and DCS 2.5". You guys have my respect for adapting/tweaking/fixing the campaign for 2.5 All, Sure $10 is $10 and we are entitled for ideally a bug free campaign, support, etc. etc. But as Greg stated, there is the campaign, there is the Huey and there is DCS terrain. Bugs can come from different sources. Also let's remember that no so long ago there was no 3rd party campaigns... Campaing developers earn money, sure thing, but not that much IMHO. Let's also keep in mind that they are also passionate users, just like us

Thank you all guys! Please hold on. I will open my PC, take pictures, gather information on my existing hardware and purchase project and I will update you.

Thank you all, and ouPhrontis for caring to clarify the USB 3.0 for me. I made my decision: internal SSD. Next step: open my PC to see if I have a free SATAIII or PCIe connector + electrical connector. By the way, nice to see you again javelina1 and Bit ;)
-
Thank you for the info, Dzen. You guys have my respect for adapting/tweaking/fixing the campaign for 2.5

Thanks Bit, the SSD is to install FSX and games on it so I'll go for an internal SSD. One last quick question: is it OK to install a program on a second SSD? What I mean is that Windows 7 is on my first SSD. And so is the C:\Program Files directory. Is it OK to installe Flight Simulator X and other programs / games on the new SSD, let's say D:\ ?
-
Thanks, I think I'll try to make the effort to learn to install an internal SSD.

Hi, I read there was some fixes last March. As I understand, Oilfield is now fully compatible with the DCS 2.5.0 stable version? No more fixes ongoing?

Hi Dmitry, After a period of absence, I am back on the forum. Many many thanks for implementing the "freeflight" mission  Thank you too for the tutorial video. Very much appreciated!

Thank you brickster, much appreciated. Crystal clear. Then I have nothing to do but wait.

Thank you ouPhrontis, much appreciated. I understand.

Hi, I moved from DCS 1.5.6 to 2.5.0 a few days ago. I updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest version 398.11 (see attached screenshot). So far all is fine. However I heard about DCS using Vulkan API. I'm wondering if my current 398.11 drivers do come with Vulkan API? If not should I download Vulkan API and install them if that is possible? My specs are in my signature.

Hi, I already have a 256 Gb internal SSD which came built-in when I bought my PC. I plan to buy a new 256 Gb SSD. I'm not a DYI guy and don't like wiring, etc. So I plan to buy an external SSD. Is there any drawback to buy an external SSD vs internal SSD, especially in terms of performance?
-
Hi, Thanks to all the team for DCS 2.5 that I just installed. Great job! My wish: please tweak the light. The vivid colors of the scenery is nice but the light is way too bright IMHO. It "burns" the textures of the cockpit and the 3D external model. I lowered the gamma in the options but it's not as good as before...

I voted for Stable Release because I like robust and stable things. However I can see that the vast majority prefer the Open Beta, probably to be able to fly the Hornet in Early Access I believe.

Start mission w/o Controls Indicator and Crew Status
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Although the name changed a bit, the solution was right under my eyes : "Show Hints at Mission Start"! -
Hi all, I'd like to start every mission without the Controls Indicator and Crew Status panel. I know there are keyboard shortcuts but want to avoid them. In the past, it was possible to turn off by default the Crew Panel Status in Options > Special tab > UH-1H > check box, show hints IIFC but it seems it is no longer available in 2.5.0 And regarding turning off the Controls Indicator by default, I just can't refind the solution but I know it's possible?
