Unbelievable! First time I see a so extended warranty on hardware!

Hello everybody, Many thanks for joining my thread :) The full story or the whole picture is that, beginning of next year, I will launch a forum dedicated to PC based simulators. The primary goal is to create a directory of available simulators (flight, space, submarine, others...) for newbies to simulation to make their choice, and for existing simmers willing to discover new simulators. It would be oriented on high level information and stand alone sims rather than discussion. Installation support, troubleshooting, addons, DLC...are not in the scope as there are already many specialized forums. That is why I need to define categories of simulators. Neil said it all: I got my question answered. I indeed need bold and broad categories understandable by everybody and simulators will be categorized according to their original and main purpose. For example P3D will be categorized as Civilian. That being said, the debate or additional answers are an interesting read, especially on this forum where conversations are well mannered and civilized :thumbup:

Hello, I'm sorry Pedro for what happened to you and for hijacking (shortly) this thread. How can one know when a CPU has burnt? I imagine that the PC won't start. In that circumstance, how to be sure that the cause is the burnt CPU?

Hi, English is not my native language, that's why I'm asking this. For FSX, P3D, X-Plane... is it correct to say "Civilian Flight Simulators"? Can you think of another wording? For DCS, IL-2, Rise Of Flight... is it correct to say "Military Flight Simulators" or "Combat Flight Simulators" ? Which one is best? Can you think of another wording?

By that, do you mean that the plane has been designed to the highest standards? Anyway, I'm glad the customer granted permission for public market to ED :thumbup: The plane with its white and red livery looks awesome. Cannot wait to see screenshots with internal cockpit and gauges. I am wondering if some features were removed for the public market. Probably I think.

If G-SYNC is working correctly, when you turn on the OSD menu of your monitor, it will display that G-SYNC is on. For example: 2560 x 1440 144 Hz G-SYNC You have excellent memory mate :thumbup: To be accurate, I did not notice ghosting in games. However on contrasted web pages, with typically black characters on white background, the ghosting was terrible. If you don't have any ghosting in any situation, all the best!

Me too I'll wait 2-3 years before I consider buying a rift. And if budget does not allow, I would rather invest in the rig or monitor :music_whistling:

Nice to see how BitMaster sorted things for Fangio :thumbup: And nice to read Fangio's feedback ;) I don't know if there is a market for commercial services related to remote PC optimization in general or for a specific simulator. I remember that in the days of Flight Simulator 2002 or 2004 there was a guy who proposed to optimize remotely PCs for MSFS. I don't know if the service still exists. I think not. Anyway, I wish BitMaster lived near my town to build my next rig. Of course I would pay for that :) I would feel much more confident than having my PC built by an unknown guy from an online company.

Here is an example of CPU-Z, recommended by ricktoberfest. You can see the default (3.4 GHz), and overclocked speed (4.3 Ghz = 4299.00 MHz) of my CPU.

Normally your SSD is Drive C: A standard installation should put DCS on Drive C: You can check by navigating with Windows Explorer:

Thanks everybody. Interesting. It looks like that with a distance of more or less 27 inches to the screen, a 34" monitor is still usable. My desk is 80 cm (31 inches) x 160 cm (62 inches).

I don't know XFR, but with an i5 4.3 Ghz and a 1080 I get between 80 and 144+ fps @ 1440 in freeflight in the vicinity of Tsibili airport. I attach my settings.

I bought Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 XMP one month ago for 130 euros :cry:
