Hello mates, Many thanks for your help, much appreciated. What I do is: 1. Set throttle to Idle-Stop as per Chuck's Guide 2. Press Start (Home key): here I don't know why Chuck says "increase to Idle-Stop" since the throttle is already at Idle-Stop. Moreover, I notice at this stage that I have to thottle past Idle-Stop a bit to get to 40% N1

Hello mate, Yes, with a 1080 you will see a quite sustained increase in performance for your 2560x1080 resolution. Whenever you can, go to 16 Gb RAM, or 32 if you can afford and plan to play "heavy" missions with a lot of units. After that, the good news is that your PC will be strong enough for DCS and then "rest" for a couple of years without any change IMHO. See my system specs in my signature: with 3/4 of the sliders on HIGH in the settings, a resolution of 2560x1440, I have a solid 70-90 fps in freeflights in Caucasus. Wish you all the best with your upgrade :)

Hi, I am learning ramp (cold and dark) start. For that, I am using Chuck's Guide. At step 34 it is said "Throttle up to Idle-Stop (Start) Position". How do I know I am at Idle Stop Position? Is there a visual cue or something? I am using the Page Up key to throttle up.

I cannot see the Yak-52 button/badge in the DCS Stable version, but thanks mate for the info :)

I would really love AGM-88 HARM for the Harrier however it seems that such a configuration does not exist. From a Retired flight test / systems engineer / engineering lead: Source : click here

The OP said "I'm a bit too lazy to create my own fully fleshed out missions and campaigns" ;)
-
Sorry mate, I missed that indeed

I would say between 40$ and 50$. I guess that the Yak will come with Training Tutorials but no built-in campaign. If a 3rd party developer creates a campaign, I imagine that the themes would be: Training Qualification Campaign, Basic Maneuvers Campaign and things like that. I for one would buy.

I agree with you guys, the colours are "right" (brown = earth, blue = sky), and so is the relative position of the miniature "within" earth or ground when diving or climbing. However earth and sky are inverted on the attitude indicator compared to what is observed outside of the cockpit and I don't get the rationale or advantage of that choice.

When I see the numbers of available campaigns compared to 3 years ago, I say kudos! Personally I am not seeking for dynamic campaigns. Quality linear campaigns will do perfectly for me! I bought 3 campaigns for helicopters and you can see the reviews for two of them in my signature. Regarding the aircrafts you recently purchased: the F-18 has no campaign at this time. If I am correct ED said they would provide a mini-campaign later this year. As for 3rd party developers, everybody is waiting for the F-18 to be complete with all its features before developing campaigns. Makes sense. For the MIG-15, I've heard positive things about the "The Museum Relic Campaign" available for that aircraft (and the F-86). IMHO paid campaigns are generally good to excellent and well worth the money (10$). Personally I like to support paid campaign developers. Please note that sometimes there are bugs for triggers not due to the campaign developers, but updates to the DCS engine, terrain or aicrafts.

Thanks for asking lmp, I was wondering too. I still don't understand. Western rationale: Blue = sky, Brown = ground Russian rationale: ???

Hi mate, To start your own thread, go there: https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=46 Then click on the New thread button. Please don't change the default size of the font. GTX 1080 will be very good. GTX 1080 Ti if you can afford. Don't wait for the next generation. 32 Gb recommended for big heavy missions. Don't forget a good screen.

Hi all, Many thanks mates! It works now! This community is so great  Since the days of Hornet 2.0 for Macintosh, in 1995, I have not had the opportunity to see a SAM coming at me ;)
-
Hi all, Many thanks for your kind help. Much appreciated. I'll try and let you know how it goes!

Hi, I am a chopper pilot and I've just bought the Harrier. So I created a simple mission to learn to suppress SAMs. Please see attached screenshots. The problem is that the SAMs do not activate their radars and do not shoot at me even when I fly over them. What is wrong my mission please?

Choose a heading for a unit in the mission editor
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in Mission Editor
Many thanks! It works now. PS: sorry for posting in the wrong forum. -
Hi, It's a long time I have not used the mission editor and usually I only create freeflights or simple missions. I remember that there is a knob to choose the heading of a unit in the right panel but cannot recall how to have it displayed.

Please read again what I said ;)

Hello wackomedic911 :) I must confess that this is the first time I'm in a thread with Racoon. However I have the feeling that, by the wording he uses, he is serious. The last infos we got through ED Newsletter were in march or so, and at that time the Yak seemed to be already in a very advanced state of development. According to my calculation, we should get the bird not this friday but the friday after. Now if Racoon is kidding us then

Sure I understand Dmitry, thanks for your answer. Be well :)
