Hi everybody, I got my DELL S2716DG (2K, 144 Hz, 1 ms, G-SYNC, TN) last week from Amazon. It was revision A01 (2015). I'm very happy with this monitor (nice and fluid images, uniformity of colours all over the screen, no backlight bleeding...). For games it is just perfect IMHO. However the ghosting is terrible  So scrolling text on desktop apps or webpages is a nightmare  I already tried to set response time to "fast" and "normal", lower the refresh rate (120 Hz, 100 Hz...). No way to get rid of the ghosting. I then got a RMA from DELL and today I have a revision A04. Same story with the ghosting :( I initially read/thought that revision A03 was ghosting free but apparently it is not. Does anyone has the DELL S2716DG and could got rid of that *** ghosting? How? Please state your revision number. I am considering to ask Amazon to exchange the DELL monitor against an ASUS PG278QR because it looks like it is the only alternative with the sames specs (2K, 144 Hz, 1 ms, G-SYNC, TN). Even if the design is more "gamer" while I prefer the classic design of the DELL. What do you think guys?

New Flight engineer view when sling loading
Simicro replied to BaD CrC's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I understand. I have FRAPS but for monitoring FPS only. I've never made a game video so far but the day I do, I'll use ShadowPlay. Thanks for your feedback :) -
In my opinion, for 2K you need at least a 1070. For VR I am not knowledgeable but I read that it is demanding. If your budget allows for a 1070Ti, 1080 or 1080Ti, it will depend on your expectations regarding graphic quality and fps, as well as how long you want to last until you change your graphic card or buy a new PC. Of course you can take a cheaper card than your budget allow, in order to save money for a new card upgrade in 1 or 2 years. But at that time in the future, there will be new low-medium-high-very high end cards and the same question will arise again. Do I take a medium-high or a very high card? It is endless...

GTX 1070 prices through the roof!
Simicro replied to Ratfink's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Me too I only became aware of the mining madness last month when I started to study the upgrade of my PC. Good for miners and card manufacturers but bad for us gamers/simmers  Only speaking of Bitcoins, their issuing will end in a few years... but maybe other crypto-currencies will emerge? -

Hello mate, Can I ask you why you use Nvidia ShadowPlay for recording (versus other recorders)? -
What is Fast sync please?

To all who participated to this thread: again thank you :) Finally I bought a MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G for 569€ on Amazon. I chose MSI because it is a good brand for me (I've had cards from them before) and the card does not make much noise when gaming and is silent when not gaming. And I'm not sure but by default it seems that it is overclocked. To Canadus: what is your screen resolution? Shortly if you intend to play 1920x1080 (Full HD), a 1070 or 1070Ti will be fine to play game with Ultra settings. If you have a resolution of 2560x1440 (2K), with a 1070(Ti) you can have High settings in game. To move to Ultra, you would need a 1080. Not rocket science though.

Hello mate, To be honest I hesitated because I 'm not into file editing (I fear to mess up things :music_whistling: if you can understand) but finally, I did exactly what you said and so far it works for all liveries that I tried  Many thanks.

TrackIR/Track clip - LA/San Diego?

You are not obliged to order directly from Natural Point. You can order from a European Retailer, in this case from Belgium: http://www.simw.com/catalogsearch/result/?___store=sen&q=track&___from_store=snl -
If I may: For potential buyers: you should not pay too much attention to the original box since it is a simple brown box (no fancy/professionnal branding or printing). Well, I ordered my MFG last month and that is the way it was. For the last year (when the OP bought them), I don't know. Additionnally, IMHO it is very hard to disassemble the rudders and repackage them in the original box with the foam because the arrangement is rather complex. Regarding the instructions, I received no copy paper. However there are some video tutorials available on the MFG website.

Thx for the tip!

Thank you Aerogator. What about the whining sound on the production batch? I know at least 2 other guys who had the problem.
-
For mates who have purchased the Mk-IV recently, be aware that it is NOT RECOMMENDED to calibrate the rudders with Windows > Devices and printers > Game controllers settings. I did and it messed things up (I lost rudder centering) and I had to dig in the official forum to find that out... Really bad :( In case it happens to you, you have to run the VKB config utility. It will detect automatically that changes have been done through Windows and will reset factory settings. By the way, it is sad that there is no english manual for the VKB config utility :(

Many thanks! I succeeded in equalizing more or less the heights of the pedals. I tried to give you reputation points but the forum system won't let me to :(

You are incredible and always here Sokol1_br  I appreciate. Remove that nuts that you need fit at start (1): OK I understand that. Regarding "turnbluckles", I'm not sure. Can you please take this picture and draw a red arrow on the turnbluckles?
-
So overall I'm happy with the rudders :) However, I did not say so far but the spring touching the tensioner screw pole causing the high pitch whining sound is very sad (not to say not acceptable) for such a high quality product (in its 4th generation?). Customers should not have to disassemble the device, and file the screw pole or remove it to solve the problem. Obviously, there was a glitch on the series batch and a lack of quality control. I hope that this will be solved for future customers. Regarding this problem, I sent an email last wednesday using the webform (Contact Us) of VKB Europe website... and so far no reply. Maybe the webform is not working properly or... wait and see? On the other side I must say that I ordered on a saturday and the product shipped on the same day. Is there a representative of VKB Europe on this forum (just as rrohde for USA/Canada)? By default (before assembly) one pedal is higher than the other and the same after assembly. Can I adjust the heights of each pedal so that they are the same?

rge75, Maybe you can edit the title of this thread with the right mission number, not to induce people in error.
