Sounds good to me! I'll fire Audacity up once I get the word.
-
Oh wow. I thought it was just me, who was having this "issue". Good to know I am not alone. So it is a confirmed bug then?
-
Oh wow! How did I not know about this? Thanks so much for the tip there! edit- Omg this is the greatest little thing since sliced bread and canned beer.

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - Februamarch 2015
Belgeode replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
(Holds breath excitedly).... Passes out from the hype... Can I kick the tires and light the fires yet? Is it Monday yet? -
The features you are trying to use are not working right now. No error on your part. They just need to patch in a fix sometime.
-
If you still need another American voice (somewhat commanding sounding), give me a holler.
-
I have not tried it out yet, though admittedly I should probably read whatever the patch notes are first.
-
I'm glad someone brought more attention to this. This issue has been a thorn in my side since the past weekend.
-
I hope this gets fixed too. I was trying to make a mission over the weekend with this but sadly... no dice.
-
I was going to suggest what Baltic Dragon said. I have been able to use this scenario successfully with ground units. (I had a BMP disembark 8 soldiers, and when 4 were killed, had them get back in and the BMP ran away.) I have not tried it with AI aircraft however.

Precision landing practice. A single player mission.
Belgeode replied to Socket7's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
LOL I agree on landing on the Perry. I knew it was rocking and I was trying NOT to focus on that as much, but obviously I got caught up in it. It was most noticeable once I had finally landed on it. I tried flying with that pitch and roll stability on, but it wobbles way too much for me. It feels much more natural with it off. I seem to have a smoother hand when it is turned off, so I just got into that habit. I did not know that about the doppler hover meter. I knew it did SOMETHING, just not quite what. I will have to pay more attention to it when I fly your snow mission. And yes, my very first Mi-8 mission "Saving Boris & Ivan", I made that same mistake with setting off smoke markers on continuous trigger.... let's just say the lag was REAL. -

Hey Socket7... I thoroughly enjoyed this mission. I enjoyed it SO MUCH that I decided to give you a major shoutout on youtube. Check it out and be prepared to laugh your butt off. -
"Why Nevada?" - Mission Potential for the Forthcoming Terrain
Belgeode replied to Splat's topic in Mission Editor
The map could be Jamaica for all I care (and actually I WOULD love that, since that would mean Cuba and maybe even Florida, with a ton of blue water ops)... But I am slightly biased there... It's where I am from. I am just glad that: 1- We are getting a new map! (Always wanted to fly to Vegas... now I can) 2- DCS World 2.0 (nuff said) 3- Eventually it will lead to such goodies as Hornet, MAYBE Tomkitty, and of course dual cockpits. -
Cargo recognizing Trigger Zones?
Belgeode replied to Belgeode's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Hmm... according to that thread it should recognize where it is once it has been unhooked, but that does not appear to be the case. Further to that, I made a couple test triggers to see if: A- the cargo recognizes its condition as alive or dead when sitting or picked up (it only recognized itself as alive throughout the whole process) B- when in a zone sitting, and when out of a zone unhooked and sitting (it recognized neither position) -
Funniest helo video ever. Well done sir, unintentionally of course. LOL

BelGeode here... Thanks for the shoutout by the way. I am glad my video helped someone. :-D I am gonna download your mission, and try it myself. I could use some more challenges. LOL! -
So I thought I could do a little mission for myself to practice moving cargo units via sling load from one side of the airport to another. I created a neat scoring system where once the cargo is dropped undamaged into the cargo zone, it will add points to my score. At the end of all four shuttles, I would get points tallied, (and taken off if I damaged any goods), for a final score. Well....... apparently cargo does not recognize what zone it is in, therefore not turning on the flags to indicate it is safely arrived. Anyone know why this is, or if there is a workaround... or something I am missing here? I am open to scripting options, but everything I have researched does not quite fit what I want to do, which is simply have the cargo pods "know" where they landed. I have attached the mission in progress for you all to peruse. Please let me know if there is anything you can add or subtract that may help me out here. The mission is available for either Hip or Huey. I am not sure if that makes a difference, as I only tried it with the Hip so far. Thanks in advance! Bel Fun With Cargo- Huey or Hip.miz

1.2.8 - External cargo/sling load not working?
Belgeode replied to shagrat's topic in Bugs and Problems
What's the latest word on this cargo cam issue with the Hip? I have never been able to get it to work. Is it still disabled? I thought I saw a post dating back to 2014 where BST replaced the cargo cam with a cargo HUD similar to the one for controls (that appears in the upper left corner). Is this also disabled? -
This is what I thought too. Ok so I am not going crazy here when I try without success to get the Hip cargo cam on, and nothing happens. Heck if I could figure out how to mod it myself, I'd probably graft the Huey cargo cam onto the Hip. It certainly DOES help a lot.
-
Great idea, but not sure how possible it is for them to implement. I do remember playing the Sochi Olympics Crisis, which had a script embedded within that would give you audio cues on which direction to fly, as well as on screen distance prompts. The two combined seemed to work very well to keep me in position over the target area, so that the troops could be inserted one by one. I imagine this could be adapted for cargo. The Huey also has that cargo cam. I suppose the Hip has it too, but I'll be damned if I can get it to turn on as easily as the Huey cargo cam.

Ok I just found this. Gonna download it now and work on it later today. I am planning on doing a Far Cry 4 livestream on twitch within the next hour or so and that takes precedence right now.
-
I think the OP is a little confused on what is being asked for. You cannot "MAKE" threat circles, they exist the moment you place an AAA or SAM unit down.
-
Cool beans. I am glad it worked out for ya!

Thanks Badger. I cannot take all the credit though. Were it not for downloading Invisibull's modified LUA, I would have never even known it was possible to mod the labels!
