I haven't flown the F-86 for a while and tonight all of a sudden these ugly bort numbers appeared on my precious aircraft...BIG THANKS for this, SkateZilla  Now I could get rid of them :)

I didn´t fly the Huey for a couple of months and when I got back to it - had the exact same experience like you. It´s AAAWESOME!!! :pilotfly:

Alright, ebabil :) Aaaaand now I suddenly remembered one thing: This mission is NOT squeaky clean. I've fiddled with the Mustang's lua-file to make it a carrier aircraft. This messing about is not going to affect any of your files but there's ONE interesting question I'd like to get answered: Do you recieve any air-support at the end of the mission? If not...I've messed up

SpoilerVideo In case you get stuck or want to see the action anyways

Fellow pilots, I need a few good men to test this mission out Bay of Hogs I'd like feedback on technical (does it work at all?), game (is it fun or boring?) and difficulty (Too easy? Too damn hard? Can't understand the orders? No logic at all?). The reason I'd like feedback is that I'm currently working on a campaign that will run along these lines. Lots of FLYING, pretty much NO dorking around with anything else ;)

Ahem...NOW I get it ;)

I've got the Mustang, Sabre, Huey, Mi-8, Fw-190 and Bf-109...and NO regrets. My judgement: DCS-modules are either good or better or just plain AWESOME!!! :smilewink:

The Bronco is AWESOME! But wrong scenery?! I don't know about that - I'm pretty sure it flew in the Nam, man.
-
Nage, that was insane!
-
I only copied the terrain files and terrain-lua and set my mission to "fall"...and that is enough to go tropical! This is the best mod ever! RESPECT  Cuba Libre!

Turn forest into tropical jungle?!
SFC Tako replied to SFC Tako's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
The tropics is where I wanna fly, here's just a few skins I've stolen and reworked :) (the real skinmakers will get credit) And now the Nam mod...what a freak coincidence! :) :) -
Turn forest into tropical jungle?!

@Blue Eyed Killer Yeah, I might start digging then ;) BUT WAIT!!! (see below) @Blooze DUUUUDE!!!! OMG! :pilotfly::thumbup: -
Hi there! I have a question about terrain: Do any of you guys know how to turn the regular trees into jungle? I've found some palm tree-looking stuff in the game files and from this here picture it seems possible (original poster user not reachable via PM) NamChoppa The reason I ask is because I'm working on a Cuba campaign :)

+100 on this thread - the Sabre could sure use some tune-ups. Napalm first, always napalm!

Aaaaand here's an update! Got tired, put in three separate full flights of four Mustangs circling over three separate airfields with a load of waypoints, all at their separate airfield channels...AND NOW IT WORKS!!! I'm totally clueless here :joystick: Well, not totally - been working the lua-file for carrier operations and I've used french aircraft together with the american carrier (just asking for trouble LOL). As of now I've switched over to making an all american carrier-mission and now the flight reports work just fine again. But there's one strange thing missing: earlier I got "naval" radio talk from american Mustangs when they took off. Funny thing is I can't remember exactly but it was something like "Springfield One off the deck" or "Colt Five, off the ramp"...but it don't matter much, I get the regular reports now. When a full flight of Mustangs are off the deck I get the message that they're airborne. Not bad, I'm happy again. Now I just gotta make some Cuban skins and we can play "Bay of Pigs - part 2" :book: I'll put in some funnies: company men, cuban exiles, lots "cloak and dagger"-stuff...it's gonna be shady as hell ;)
-
Well, then it works just fine for most users, I hope. I'll try to sort this out on my end when/if I have time for it. And BIG THANKS for taking your time with this Gunrun

Can anyone please verify if they get flight reports from friendly Mustangs? I've tried old missions and made new missions with groups of 4 friendly Mustangs after this update and it doesn't seem to matter if we have the same exact frequency set - I don't get any flight reports anymore. I DID get that before. I've even gone so far as having them set their correct AM frequencies manually in the MissionEditor (under commands) but still no reports. I DO get flight reports from Hueys though if I set them to manually tune in their frequencies to my AM band...strange? I've also verified that I'm using stock files, I've disabled "friendly flight reports" under options, shut down the game, restarted, enabled...shut down, restarted... Anyone, please have a go at this  This worked just fine before the update today.

I try really hard to think it's all a big disappointment. Yeah, it's probably no fun to fly at all, nothing works and it makes your hard drive crash ;)

Great stunt! :)

About russian planes: Yak-9 FTW! About maps: see Pandacat above :)

I've been able to turn the Mustang Navy now, to spawn on carriers that is. But to be honest, I think it's sort of futile to expect people to learn the Sabre the same way. I mean, without a hook you gotta stay razor sharp and be lucky to land. Or maybe I can test things out a bit more, maybe set the carrier to max speed or something (did my "trials" on 20kts). Anyways, with the Mustang it's a lot easier. You can learn to land with it on 11kts speed of carrier and 7m/s headwind. Here's the clip showing me spawning on the carrier :) MustangGoesNavy
