Yes, this was not my first try and I DID have some luck as well. I'm beginning to like the Wulf but the Schmitt is better at high altitudes, nein? Luftwaffe Hero, Last days of the Reich Just a thought: This sort of "let's play until I make it" can be categorized as "Bullshit Heroics" ;) I haven't bothered with playing online yet, but if someone manages to down four HUMAN opponents in a row - they have my utmost respect. That's as real as it gets and I just thought it be appropriate to mention that.

I've only been able to get down aircraft from an ambush-like position with these missilies (never any Mig-15s). For example, in this mission I deliberately set the Mig-21s to pass me by and give me a chance to come up from behind. If they'd spot me, they'd just turn to loiter-mode and I'd never get a hit (a lock, yes - but absolutely no hit). And those are two of my very few kills with this weapon :joystick:
-
^^ And I who think I'm cool when I fly low with my Mustang :joystick:
-
Well, I had a look on the backside on my rig - looks like my GTX970 has three outputs. Nah, I'm gonna try not to think too much about this. If I get three monitors I'll start checking on that SLI/Crossfire stuff too. And I've saved up money for a vacation in the sun...yeah, I'm gonna try not to think too much about this ;) But thanks for the info!
-
Lookin' pretty good. Or AWESOME to be honest  And this with just one graphics card? Or do you have one card for each monitor? See I don't know squat about multiple monitors but this really made me interested. Thanks for messing things up for me :)

Smokin' hot :)

And of course, you can't do this with a Mustang vs four AI Messerschmitts, but maybe someday... :)
-
Right on
-
Yeah! NOW we're talkin' - good suggestion  I'd pay top dollars for new maps, or why not a map editor?
-
@pepin1234: I've just stolen some old game files. It's translate as "go go go". But who knows really? ;) @NeilWillis: I want it all, but I know that won't happen just like that. But what if we had something like three maps: one inland, one coastal and one sea/archipelago-map? And then four temperate seasons AND jungle and desert "seasons". That would of course mess with the realism if we want real world maps, but I think that would unlock the true potential of DCS.
-
And here's the other side to it ;)
-
Hey drack-man! It's probably just a few lines of code and some graphics that can be stolen from any other naval aircraft. I edited the Mustang's LUA and got it naval, yeah the AI uses the catapults and arrestor wires! But I see no hook and I can't use the equipment myself. And the Mig's got a waaay different LUA that I can't turn naval. Same thing with the Sabre's LUA  So to conclude: It IS possible and there ARE other flyable aircrafts with hooks. BUT as there's a war on fun, asking for this is like asking for the impossible. There's probably some guy out there with the right info and skills to get both the Mig-15 and Sabre "navalised" in say...ten minutes. But he refuses to do it. Because it's not "correct"...and he's an idiot for thinking that way :helpsmilie:

What's better for BBQ? Burning Su33 or burning F15?
SFC Tako replied to Mirknir's topic in Screenshots and Videos
I usually don't like high-tech aircraft but this video made'em interesting and cool  And that musical score added to the futuristic "eins-zwei-drei-techno"-feel ;) -
We need to unlock a few things to get DCS up to it's full potential - you can read my comments on youtube. I know I might be stepping on some nerves/big feet here, but hey - I'd rather get Vietnam rolling than just sitting tight waiting for DCS 2.0...which I'm not very excited about anyhow. I mean, all we need is Vietnam and Afghanistan and we're set for life. We just need some things adjusted.

I abstain from voting because frankly, ANY campaign is welcome! Just do it it the way you like it, somebody else is definitely gonna like it too.
-
If you have the Huey, the "stock" or UN-campaign is a MUST-HAVE-FLOWN! And don't be fooled by the first few "ordinary" missions - things will get more demanding as you go. I don't know if they just got lucky or planned it all along from the beginning but the UN-campaign is an excellent introduction with the best possible difficulty curve. If nothing else, you LEARN the Huey :)

And this here solved it all!  Just follow the instructions crazyeddie for president! [gang sign]

It sort of works, I put the two files in TempTextures (F4-OKR-1.bmp and F4-OKR-2.bmp) and launch a mission with a turkish F-4E...and it has taken the USAF-camo version (F4-OKR-1.bmp), looking good and all...but the turkish flag and roundel get pasted on top of that skin too :( What to do?! EDIT: Tried with a german F-4E and go the "af-standard" skin in the MissionEditor...that turned out different: a USN F-4 with german crosses on top ;)
-
I've only used the terrain files and that changes everything! Just think about it: the Middle East, Algeria, Afghanistan, Libya, that desert in South America...and MONGOLIA of course! ;)
-
AH! Well alrighty then - good feedback. See there's one thing that lurks in the back of my mind when I'm making missions: Will people get things? So this was good info, this point and the very start with the blue smoke - these are points that I've might not been very clear on. But then again, just how clear should I be? I learned in the army to be uber-clear on things...but in civilian life, some people take offense when you're being uber-clear. Like "Hey I get that, do you think I'm stupid?!" and all that ;) Well, good luck and keep me posted!

Desert Scenario by Starway

Downloading! Maybe this will get me to fly Mi-8s in Afghanistan?! EDIT: It looks AWESOME!!! EDIT-2: -
@Chic That's weird, never happened to me. Now the question is, WHAT "stopped" the mission? Did you get the explicit order to land there? Right beside the knocked out AAA, I mean. Anyways, I'll check tonight on exactly what needs to be done. If nothing else, land as close as possible to the AAA, nose just a few feet away from it. You can check how I do it here: COMPARE THIS! @18:15 UPDATE: I checked on it now - having been ordered to land at the knocked out AAA, there are three conditions that must be met to start "repair and load" of the AAA-piece. 1. Speed must be less than 1m/s (you must be parked) 2. Altitude must be below 20m (you must be parked on the ground, NOT on the AAA itself) 3. You must be within 100 feet (35m) of the knocked out AAA Please let me know if you still can't get things rolling or if I've misunderstood the whole problem. ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS PROBLEM? Don't feel ashamed of letting me know. If I've done a mediocre job on this mission - now's the time to correct things.

This here Hawk will do just fine for Counter-Insurgency :)

Couldn't help it, had to try it out myself. And yes, a BIT of luck was involved in that carrier landing ;) -

Man...dude...this Mig21 is kinda tough on them carriers. I got lucky here, can't (and won't) do it again ;)
