DCS: Mirage 2000C Teaser trailer
SFC Tako replied to Glowing_Amraam's topic in Screenshots and Videos
I totally missed it and I'm totally gonna get this bird! Delta wings are the coolest! Thanks for postin' -
These are just some examples - but I wanna see how other pilots handle the landings. (remember to pronounce it like Donald Trump) I was thinking this might interest others. I mean, if you've flown one of them "Hello Kitty"-aircrafts with hooks and you've been able to use the catapults...what kinda naval aviator are you really? Nobody's impressed. Man up and put a video here where you land (or try to land) a proper aircraft with no hooks. Yeah I know I'm probably the best naval aviator out there, but who knows - maybe I can learn something too? :smilewink: OK, bring it on! EDIT: - yes it IS a silly old prop, but what can I say? I find it to be the hardest. But in this clip I totally aced it (with a little bit of luck)

Bombs and rockets going off with same release
SFC Tako replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Sorry to hear that :( The rockets are unarmed by default, same goes for the bombs. I think I have "R" to unflick the rockets protector switch and up arrow and down arrow to flick between burst and single mode. For the bombs I use left arrow and right arrow to flick between their separate drop modes. Try making som kind of arrangement where you know you've only armed one of the systems and go from there. If memory serves me right, I think I had the exact same problems when I got the Sabre. Best of luck and never give up! The Sabre is worth some extra tinkering, it's just plain awesome to fly :joystick: -
Bombs and rockets going off with same release
SFC Tako replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
They CAN go off simultaneously, check that the rockets are unarmed (rocket switch in mid position) and bombs inactive (that flick switch, in neutral). Then try pressing the release button. After that, arm either of the systems and let us know what happens when you try the release button again. -
Schpitfeuer!!! So happy to see them flying, they are the most iconic warbirds ever, PERIOD!

^^ Good point, for once I get the logic :)

Bay of Hogs, re-tailored for the Mi-8
SFC Tako replied to SFC Tako's topic in User Created Missions General
Hey thanks! :) Yeah, when I put it together I first planned to make it a LOT shorter and just MAYBE a bit more subtle. But then another thought struck from nowhere: "What the heck - let's go full retard on this!" Anyways, I hope the campaign is enjoyable. I can't stress enough how difficult it is to make user friendly missions and yet keep them somewhat complex/dramatical. No mission/campaign is a 100% flawless so do report back if there's any thing unlogical or otherwise just too silly to perform. I've been sitting in my "cave" flying these missions over and over...maybe they're completely bonkers if viewed with a fresh pair of eyes. Or maybe they all make perfect sense...if you try to think about them like a crazy person would :smilewink: No but really, don't hesitate to call out bothersome things. If we ever get more utility choppers, I might just tailor this campaign for them as well. It might be fun for comparison if you've flown the others before. Or not. Who knows? :joystick: -
Fly northwest from Kutaisi, follow the mountainsides. You'll find it eventually as the mountain range curves to the north.

Kiva!

Be pleased to inform you that the campaign is now available in the user downloads section. It's not for everyone and it's nothing even near a realistic story (I'm not Tom Clancy). But if you want to take part in a really great action movie from the 80s - this is for you! Strap in, take some risks, grow a moustache! Be all macho, fly with passion! :pilotfly: Oh yeah, here's the

Vertical take off demonstration
SFC Tako replied to kingpinda's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
:megalol: Got somthing to do with the new release. A lot of folks have had problems with tracks that used to be okay. Tell you what, forget about instructors - fly by yourself. -
I hope you do, waiting for it to be cleared (sent in last night). But speaking of craziness, I believe it's not for everyone. You need to have a slight tendency towards...well, I guess you know what :smilewink:

Guilty as charged :)

Real life mig21 Stick feedback and MSFFB2
SFC Tako replied to Dirty Rotten Flieger's topic in MiG-21Bis
I can only answer on the setup part as I'm just an armchair pilot. I've never fiddled around with any settings on my MSFFB2. Only plugged it in and done a calibration, that's it really. So far I've been very happy with that. But if you find out anything useful, do post about it. Can't hurt :) -
Nearly finished with the campaign - will probably just do a final check tonight before sending it on :)

2) Got the same behaviour. I just try holding the target in-sight and press the trigger frantically :)

Force Feedback joystick settings
SFC Tako replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Got the same joystick, I even bought a spare on e-bay :joystick: I just can't understand why someone would NOT use a force-feedback. I mean, it communicates to me perfectly, with any aircraft I fly. Settings? I haven't fiddled with them. What bothered you to change the presets? -
I'm all in! :pilotfly:

BUMP! OK, if you steal the glass-file from ..\DCSWorld\Bazar\World\textures\MI-8MT.zip and delete the round glass from it...and put it with your skin and add this to the description.lua: {"mi_8_glass", 0 ,"mi_8_glass",false}; Then you get a "poor man's gunship" with no sidewindows :pilotfly: But the pilot_MI8_head_A.dds eludes me, don't know what logic it's activated by. Anyone who can tip me off? You'll be mentioned in the credits for the campaign! ;) --------------------------------------- EDIT: If I use this below, Pilot B's head (the co-pilot) takes total precedence - resulting in: it misses C (technician )and messes up A with two noses and no eyes :) {"pilot_MI8_head_A", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_A",false}; {"pilot_MI8_head_B", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_B",false}; {"pilot_MI8_head_C", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_C",false};
-
Does anyone know the syntax in the description.lua for editing the pilot faces? I've located the files "pilot_MI8_head_A.dds", "pilot_MI8_head_B.dds" and "pilot_MI8_head_C.dds" but I just can't activate them in the lua-file. Tried pretty much everything... {"pilot_MI8_head", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_A",false}; --Manolo or {"pilot_MI8_head1", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_A",false}; --Manolo or {"pilot_MI8_headA", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_A",false}; --Manolo or {"pilot_MI8_head_1", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_A",false}; --Manolo or {"pilot_MI8_head_A", 0 ,"pilot_MI8_head_A",false}; --Manolo ...and NOTHING works! I can however unzip "MI-8MT.zip" in "..\DCSWorld\Bazar\World\textures" and edit the faces there and have a laugh at my "expert" skills...but if I want to use them in a proper livery I want to put them in that livery's folder and "activate" them with a syntax in description.lua. RIGHT?! Any help is appreciated :helpsmilie: EDIT: The reason is because I'm about to do something really disturbed :) So I need to know the syntaxes for mi_8_glass.tga.dds and pilot_MI8_head_A.dds (and B and C of course).

Really? :( Well, truth be told - if I make another chopper campaign I will most likely do it stoneage-style. Can't go wrong with triggers and zones :)

"New" campaign: Outremer-Mig21
SFC Tako replied to SFC Tako's topic in User Created Missions General
Dude, that was pretty neat  -
Maybe if we just use red smoke. You know like when you shoot a guy with a high powered bolt action rifle. Red mist ;)
