  1. Cheers Notso, yes 2vs1 or 2vs2 is hell fun as well, the teamwork is key and task of talking while fighting is indeed very challenging and it's fun to see everybody in the same piece of sky. I cannot say the opposite. But you know it's like blonde/brunette/ginger, everybody got his proper choice, i will keep my old style chivalry gentleman 1Vs1 ahah. Very nice Job Totmacher btw.
  2. Art, Cambridge Dictionary : the making or doing of something whose purpose is to bring pleasure to people through their enjoyment of what is beautiful and interesting. With the peeps i hangout, we are simple person, and we think that BFM is beautiful, interesting and bring pleasure to us, so yes, "for us" it's an Art...and the fun part is the comparison of stats ^^
  3. What do you mean exactly?
  4. GG tharos, for me BFM is an art, no matter if it's not done anymore in real life blabla IMO this is the purest form of combat. And there is more pride for some players of fighting 1Vs1 than 2vs1 or esle. When you fight against some great dogfighter, and i'm talking about real good dogfighter, people who understand it and will give you hard time, it 's super super enjoyable. You need to think, asses, react super quickly and every single pro and cons of the opponent aircraft will have a huge impact on the fight. Not a lot of people give importantance to that discipline, but personnaly i love it as much as formation flying :).
  5. I think the discussion here is more about airplane pure perf in gun 1v1 area than tactics with bvr, 9x, laser and stuff.
  6. Ah yes copy that!! Thanks!
  7. Hi totmacher, can you explain me why the rate deacrease drasticaly when less fuel and lighter on your graph?
  8. In dcs rate for sure! That's why people who understand BFM and strengh/advantage of Dcs hornet will always force 2circle fight.
  9. Hi folks, i wanted to know if you guys have the same probleme as me. when i unplug my stick, when i replug it, all my controls are lost and for all planes. I need to reload them plane by plane, for stick/throttle/rudder wich is pretty long. Is it normal? Shouldn't they just reload the config file automaticaly? thank you
  10. Looks nice! Just waiting for to ED to implement it Dragwise and Weightwise
  11. Even more accurate, Still not negligeable Thank you
  12. Nowdays, with help of technology and by having easier and easier to fly jets, you can do both, and you can be trained as an multirole Pilot. Ex: Sweep sortie to push bandit and clean area, switching to air to ground at designated point, drop bombs on Coo, then switch back to Air-to Air and egress.
  13. Yes, on an ISH-ometric scale and by being very optimistic and would go by 120kg for each pylon? (Even if it might be more...) time 8 it's about almost 1 ton of pylons. Not negligeable.
  14. Excellent. Yes in google there is a lot of picture of slick sukhoi27
  15. interresting topic here.... Yes i can feel it, especially vs 2000/Hornet....i feel like i'm fighting against Xwing if we compare thrust acceleration and turn rate. I will get interest into this topic.
  16. hey Folks, do you know if we can remove, or if ED is working on the possibility to remove the pylons on the sukhoi 27 and have a completely slick aircraft? That might help a bit to reduce drag and weight, especialy in BFM when it can be a factor.
  17. can you guys tell me how many CPU you have assigned for DCS in task bar and the priority?
  18. Ok true it's not that bad when runing well, nice experience BUT I feel very frustrated, i'm playing with all option you said above, i run a ryzen 9 with RTX 3080 32Go on SSD I'm getting some radical stutters/lag, i crashed at least 10 times in combat sortie due to freeze, i'm litteraly driving mad in game, the VR headset is showing "waiting" at the worst moment.... "Waiting" sure it's time to wait when aborting nose low @ mach 1.3+ in BVR, or low level nav, or dogfighting. i'm still investigating, but really runing out of patience.
  19. Can somebody confirme me that old drivers really helps? The stuttering is hard....i have ryzen9 3080.... I might go back to old school mouse keyboard config te enjoy DCS...
  20. OK, so basically my replay is doomed right :)? Great...
  21. Hi there, i would like to know if bug from replay are known. I did a super flight with all my team, i was flying a tomcat, when i replay the track to do some rad shots, my tomcat is crahsing at end of the runway, i really don't get it, i start again the replay, my tomcat go stuck into grass why is the replay doing crazy shit like this and not simply replaying the flight i did?? Thanks guys.
  22. I was doing it for a living Mover, you did not understand my post. Take care.
  23. First of all i will say that everybody needs to be happy with tournament. We need rules for everybody. Peeps that don't like it will not play it period. Now time to discuss a bit as everybody is giving opionions. i think Mover, you can't compare real life G's with DCS G's. Flying G's in DCS is much more harder than real life IMO. Real life > eyeball bandits FLy G with butt. DCS life > Eyeball bandits Eyeball Gmeter + no feeling it's just Frustrating to me... About respecting G's. Paddling is usually for emergency only, is merging for a 1v1 is an emergency? i would say that this is a peacetime handcuff to preserve jet airframe, for sure putting G's on airplane will get it old faster. Some airplane have, during they life even severals G limit. For exemple 8G then 10 years later 7.5 then 6...to preserve the potential. For me DCS dogfight is an extreme wartime scenario, something that it is not even comparable to nowdays realife. When was the last time we saw a hard 1v1 dogfight with keeping you life as ultimate goal? i'm not talking about "combat sortie" where jets shoot amraam to a goddamn unaware bandit flying in straight line or even CAS mission. i'm talking about real oldSchool BFM vs a guy who knows how to fly? except in training, it was long time ago, back in the days where no flight data recorder were set, where it was easy to push on "G-meter Reset" and pay a case of beer to the mechanics I had a chance to talk a lot with old school pilots, and the "G-reset" stuff was a common thing yet not so so long ago. Again not talking about random combat ops but talking about merging with real bad bandidos with real good performances and this guy want to KILL you, trust me i will and i think the vast majority of peeps will pull everything they got...even if they need to bend the aircraft. Rather unloose some wingroot bolt than getting killed. It would be very interesting to talk with vietnam pilots, where the stuff was real, merging at 600Kts+ at the last moment and playing for your life. And IMO i'm pretty sure about that....but again it's my opinion, and as the pilot community is representing the population, even amongst the pilots of a same squadron we might have some disagrement between them. The thing is, we are trying to put realism to a thing that is not very clear. We are taking the real peacetime rules and sticking them to an extrem wartime scenario. And even if you are a real fighter pilot you can't compare to the Job because this is a very specific scenario. And if you want real realisme then all players should go through a medical class1. Again just my two cents about it not saying i'm right, just giving you some other point of view. Best Regards for All, see you at the merge!
  24. I came here just to check the topic and see comments regarding Glimit.... Can't wait to do BFM with No more that 30° AOB limitation ^^
