Auto-focus would be very hazardous anyway, because not instantaneous, not necessarily always perfectly precise (what would be the target reference?), and would kill our eyes or give headache quite rapidly. Certainly not an option for aeronautic (pilot) usage.
-
Not true. Or prove it. I am also using a VERY good NVGs (variant of the ANVIS9) on a daily (actually "nightly") basis ... I've never heard about auto-focus system. If is does exist, please tell us what manufacturer and what models ... I will be happy to submit them to my commandment.
-
Nope. As explained above. There are no auto-foccus NVGs yet. ;)
-
Feature. This is perfectly correct/realistic and is one of the best features introduced in the 2.5
-
? Is that true? ... Please confirm that the 2.5 is running a 3 days count down and after 3 days without any Internet access you won't be able to launch it at all? (This is not what understand ... I thought it was only for AV-8 module at this time and probably the F-18 ... but no restriction about the launch of Word itself.)
-
This is not what I am calling a "good reason". As long as it will be the case, I will stay away from new module. That is for sure. And I do not care if it is the same for "many other games" ... I do not play "many other games". Want to see an evolution? ... Simple: As it has been said, nobody force "customers" to update or buy anything. It is a bit sad because I was going to start again actively helicopter simulation ... the UH-1 is a nice module. :( I won't update to 2.5 either. Yep. Lets just wait then and refrain the "purchase" desire.

20$ is not the issue here. I will also base all my future decisions on that question. 20$ is not a problem if the product is high quality ... and not an Alpha version. For sure ... I will wait for the DRM policy decision ... and will wait until the F-18 reaches a level making it something more advanced than a MiG21/M2000 ( F-18 vs F/A-18 )

Thank you for explanations Cichlidfa! What annoys me is that the I Gazelle is unfinished, and when purchased, it was supposed (? to me) to be finalized one day under 1.5. If it is confirmed, lessons learned would be : never buy a WIP or an early access again as there is no guaranty what is going on after. :( This is good news! ... unfortunately, I won't be able to enjoy yet the 2.5 since it won't run with 4Go RAM (maximum for my old mobo) ... the 1.5 does. So I will probably be stuck with a "non decent" Gazelle FM. :(
-
Thank you for reply! But I still wonder also: Since I bought some modules on (and for) the 1.5 which are still WIP (mainly the Gazelle) , even if base install (1.5) is not more "supported" and since 2.0 requires to have the Nevada or Normandie map installed (payware) can we hope for having one day a final version of the Gazelle and maybe the multi-crew as "promised" on UH-1 ... ? Regards!

Impossible to have the Harrier when I launch my DCS
Dee-Jay replied to Skulleader's topic in Resolved Bugs
Hi! ... in early access. ;) :pilotfly: Merry Xmas gents. -
One more ... motivation ... Come on ... Who is too young here to not have known "her"? No Gazelle ... a Bell222C ghost grey and white. :pilotfly:
-
AIRWOLF Civilian Gazelle ... nope. But the "Lady" ... YES!
-
Hi gents! Just to be sure I understand correctly : With the "new" DRM system, do you confirm that there will no longer be "activation" limits? ... I mean ... you can install/uninstall/reinstall as much as you want, and having the modules of an unlimited number of computers ... just that you can launch the game only using your login once at a time? Am I correct? Regards.

Fortunately ... Glad that MonnieRock originally created that poll (which has been merged to original previously locked post from Wags) that clearly showed that MANY (kind of) customers might suffer from this Web access constrains ... :worthy: Now lets see what will happens. I was planning to buy the Gazelle, and maybe one day the F-18 (once they will achieve final and polished status, no beta nor early access for my taste) ... Otherwise, it would clearly be a final show-stopper for me ... :( I won't accept any internet dependency to use my software. Fingers crossed.
-
"we are only the users" !?! ... We are the customers. And without customers to buy the product there no need of DRM protection.
-
And you will have to think about it before leaving home ... because if before leaving home you haven't connected your DCS since few weeks ... once our are out, your are *funky*. I am again talking about military guy (just an example) , it might be students or any one else ... living in dormitory a big part of the year and playing DCS in LAN without ANY web access. This is my case when I was student pilot in Salon de Provence in 2001-2004 where we were playing LOCK ON and were we was doing one of the very first multiplayer LOMAC footage ever with my friend Tigrou. (Nostalgia :) ) And I know it is still the case in theatre operation ... I confirm that some people still playing LAN without any Internet connexion (ant this is precisely why they do LAN and not Internet MP sessions). #s3gt_translate_tooltip_mini { display: none !important; }

What about LAN? ...

SA-13 has a radar telemeter. The telemetry signal (if used) might be detected by some RWRs. Therefore, it is not impossible to get a RWR spot before the SA-13 launch a missile.

Hi gents! I have voted 90 days. But 90 is far from being enough for some peoples ... What about military guys deployed for six months or more, or on an unscheduled long period mission, leaving with his laptop and a small joystick in his bags but on a site/compound where he won't have a web access on his personal computer ... (This is one example among other) ... ? Not talking bout 30 or 90 days ... I am talking about four to six months (at least because US army for instance can go up to 9+ month) ... Not only military peoples are concerned. Web access on personal devices is not always granted in all places. It might be on dedicated station provided by contractors. Regards.

Same bugs in realease as in OB
Dee-Jay replied to =OPS=Slider's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
+1 with Azrayen. -
Hi DrDetroit! They does, but not that much in this video indeed. However, on Alpha Jet, G loads are not extreme (IIRC, it is about 7G max limit that a/c can't sustain anyway) and for a short period of time in this display flight video ... so no real need of sustained AGSM. Is it different with a/c like Rafale, M2000, F-16, F-22 ... etc ... sustained Gs can be much longer and violent (if combat takes place at high Gs/high speed.) In , high Gs are only taking place at the beginning (merge), then, only low speed phases hung on engine's thrust.

Thank you! Dealing with my iPad and I am not used to. Will try to edit my post also with a working link. Thanks again!

For info ... (maybe it will surprise you ?) IRL, pilot does hear almost "nothing" except radios and headset tones/alarms (intercoms ... etc...). To get an idea, watch this vid ... this is what we hear with the helmet on ... :smartass:

Mirage 2000 C - missions françaises & atc français
Dee-Jay replied to snowsniper's topic in Français
Salut! ;) Bonne continuation! -
Same IRL indeed. MF1 is even tighter than M2K!
