  1. Same here i tried it at every setting from 1.5 up to 2.0 i couldn't notice any difference at all in reading gauges or looking outside. i left it at 1.5 to get the performance advantage while still being able to read every thing from HUD to gauges.
  2. It should be very easy for you since you are using RIFT , i do it in the Rift while sipping my Juice and while the Tanker in a turn. I have +20 on the Roll axis and + 15 on the pitch axis with a wartthog joystick .
  3. The latest Nvidia driver update 378.66 had fixed a little bit of the FPS issue , But still in some mission where there are heavy clouds its still bad. 1.5.5 was running flawlessly
  4. Windows 10 this week had forced a Nvidia update 376.53 on every one . i did every thing possible to install back my 376.33 which was working smooth butter with dcs but whenever i restart windows , the windows update catches on and forces the Nvidia install, It evens installed it while i was gaming in dcs shutting down everything on me . what i did was to disable windows update from the Services . that way there are no updates what so ever.
  5. is ther any way to get this mod working inside Oculus Rift VR ?? in the same way the KneeBoard is showing .
  6. Ya this is one way to do it or i just adjust my Head position using the CTRL Shift method. its just annoying you have to do it every time.
  7. Hello everyone. I mostly fly the F15 in VR and sometime the M2K . whenever i get in the M2K the pilot position in relation to the HUD seems always right , by the word Right i mean more comfortable to see the HUD and the switches around. Now wherever i get in the F15 the pilot position is always very close to the HUD that it feels very uncomfortable to see for example the fuel gauges because it is far down. also the pilot seems to be sinking down in the seat and the HUD is way up higher than his eye line of sight. I understand i can adjust the pilot position using the CTRL+SHIFT+NP but i was wondering if thats how the pilot suppose to be in the F15 , Sunk down in the seat. i googled some photo and most pics show the pilot head to be in the same height as the HUD and about i could say 2 feet away ( judging from the photo , ive never been in one myself ) also the Alt +NP 0 dont seem to save the new position for me all the time , it seems that every time i get in the F15 i have to adjust the position to my likening. i wanted to know whats your input guys regarding this. do you adjust the position in the F15 frequently that you have to put it further back and up a little bit to achieve a close to IRL position. or is that how it suppose to be very close to the HUD also is the pilot head suppose to be lower than the HUD or in the same height or higher ?? in some pics i see the head in the same height as the HUD some other photo i see the pilot head little lower than the HUD .

  9. it seems that your issue is related to the HDMI connector either in the VGA card or the CV1 cables. i had a semilar issue like yours but mine wouldnt even start . i would get the blanks screen the minute i start the Oculus home . My CV1 would give me black screen with the amber light on instead of white while i could hear the sound in the background. i did every thing possible from switching USB to unplugging the cable from CV1 and connecting them back , I even did a fresh install of windows 4 times. nothing worked. till suddenly i thought of switching VGA card ( i had another gtx 970 lying around ) . the minute i switched the card the CV1 went on with no problem. to make sure then i put back the old card the CV1 wouldnt work. I then figured out that it was a bad HDMI connector from the VGA card. ( the bad card was ASUS sitrix 970 ). to rule out your issue : start first by making sure your CV1 cables are firmly connected to the headset by removing the foamy protection. and pressing the cables in there. also run a repair for your Oculus software just in case its a driver issue. ( you do so by running the install again it will give you the option to repair) if your VGA has another HDMI outlet try that and see if it solves your issue if it doesn't have ( mine didn't ) see if you can get a DVI to HDMI converter , alot of people with similar issue reported on Oculus forum that they solved it by getting this converter. another thing i remembered, is your VGA overclocked , if so make sure that its not a temperature issue or overclocking issue .
  10. Speaking of other games in VR , Have you guys tried Elite dangerous. this game is a must have if you play VR . the first time i put my Rift on inside the space station i was like WOWWWWWW that spaceship is huge
  11. please i need help fixing this issue , its posted here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=181148 for some reason it wont let me post the pic here .
  12. Your Video card is ready to go you dont need any adapter or anything , just connect the HDMI cable to the Hdmi output in your Card. as for your system buildup so i assume you doing it from scratch so first Install your windows if not installed. Second update all your drivers , Windows 10 will tend to update the drivers for you but i go further . I install software called PC smart driver . it will search the internet for all the available drivers for you. update your video card driver. run windows update. connect your Rift cables ( USB and HDMI) then install Oculus Runtime from Oculus website. let it finish and then follow the step by step instructions. after that install DCS and setup your controls and settings. restart Your PC ( i dont know why but its better for your system so it can check for anything missing) Play DCS . ( the sequence i do is to start Oculus runtime then start DCS.) Enjoy
  13. i dont think he meant to place it on his virtual knee . if you look at the pic you will see that its coordinates on the Rift screen so you can adjust the location where the knee board shows up on the rift.
  14. Last night i took an F15 and i climbed all the way to 39000 altitude , I looked beside me and for a few second i got a fear of height and i had to grab into my seat . it was not cool i had to keep telling my self relax you still sitting in your house room .
  15. i have I7 4790 OC @ 4.8 Ghz water cooled. Evga gtx 1070 FTW, 16 gb Gskill extreme at 2666. the key to good FPS in DCS is the CPU and Ram oh forgot to mention Evga 1070 is not at defualt speed , I OC'd it +140 for GPU clock and + 300 for Memory clock
  16. to get the best experience , Set Pixel density to 1.6 minimum 2.0 if you can. turn any shadows off be it terrain or regular shadow , it eats Fps and it add nothing to the immersion. MSAA : off texture : high visibility high water detail high civ traffic off cockpit resolution : 1024 ( very important if you want crisp looking radar screen or MFD) HDR, FLARE, Depth of field etc ...... i turn off . trees and shrubs : off radius pre-load : to the maximum. with that setting i get 90 fps all the time and 60 to 45 when flying low over big city . i set my PD to 2.0 remember that the best experience with the VR is when FPS is high . so unnecessary settings such as flare and HDR is not important as having high FPS
  17. those are not SU 27 specific they are combat flying in general. the first one is responsibility during formation flying lead responsibilities and also wingman. the second is how to perform tasks during the combat formation , awareness , tasking , sorting etc .. the last is brevity words that are common to be used. Simple guide to Formation flying.pdf BVR-BFM_Basics.pdf BREVITY WORDS.pdf
  18. Can you guys who are getting this glitch mention what OS you are using , i believe its a Windows 10 related issue with the USB3 , i installed windows 10 today and its been giving me issues with the USB 3 driver and caused this glitch to hapoen to me 2 times , i get a split second freeze and then the electric on my aircraft was gone like i had shut off the power. With windows 7 i didnt have a single issue.
  19. As the title says , can we enable DSR in Nvidia control panel . will it affect the Rift CV1 . i remember it used to Work with DK2 . i tried DSR 1.5x but i dont know what i should do next ? do i need to switch the resolution from within the game to the higher value . I noticed after enabling DSR that there is a new resolution setting withing the game but applying that new resolution didnt affect the Rift picture to my notice. im running the Rift on 1.6 DP .
  20. Honestly, aside from the snap view option but why would you need something sticking in your face that kills all the immersion you get with VR ?? when you can just glance at it and perfectly read what the MFD says without even leaning forward ( im talking in my case the F15 ) . what helps read the MFD perfectly and also the radar screen is setting cockpit resolution to 1024 that would make them very crisp , Of course it will reduce your FPS but you can tweak other non important settings such as Shadow , water ,flare effect or MSAA which is an FPS killer. i was running cockpit resolution at 512 and the MFD and radar was blurry till i found out that 1024 is the sweet spot for a crisp looking, readable MFD and VSD .
  21. why are you running your CPU under clocked from the Default speed, Default should be 4.0 Ghz which makes a lot of difference in DCS , also mine is OC to 4.5 GHZ with no issue on default voltage no increase in Voltage at all.
  22. Let me put it simple to you because I’ve been in this dilemma for long time to take the decision of buying the Rift , I kept hesitating and asking my self “ can I lose the beauty of My 4k screen and the nice graphics?, oh what about seeing targets ?? blah blah …” Well before I tell you my experience let me explain that no matter what words you read, it will never describe the feeling of being inside the Plane in VR, VR is the closest we can get of being actually inside the Fighter jet , Bottom line . If you ever offer me a 10k 2D monitor instead of VR I will not trade. VR is a Must now for me for DCS. My worst nightmare now became what if my rift dies what will I do? I cant play DCS anymore. Now let me tell you my experience, I fly with a squadron in the Eagle as a wing man, most of you knows how hard it is to maintain your responsibility as a wing, you have to continually search the radar different pattern while keeping in formation and don’t lose sight of your lead . With 2D monitor that was very hard ( not impossible but very hard ) . The minute I got in the Rift its just feel natural. Flying formation while keeping an eye on the Radar and doing the entire work load is a lot easier, the Size, the immersion the feel of speed and height makes flying next to your Lead is indescribable. The First time I got close to the F15 in formation in the VR , I couldn’t stop smiling . to bottom line it nothing comes close to VR but flying the Real Aircraft. The second experience is Air to air refueling. All I have to say is that air refueling now is heaven and earth different on 2D monitor. I take full load of fuel without any stress. It has become very natural, Ya it still needs formation skills but it becomes very fluid because I can sense the speed and the distance between me and the tanker . Lastly, taking off and Landing on the Runway. Well I will leave that one to you till you try VR . All I can say it’s a mind blowing. All of the above made the trade over 4K monitor very easy for me I will never turn around. I will take VR in DCS any time without hesitations; I regret not taking the decision a long time ago. I have to say though that I have an air force seat with TM Hotas mounted to it so I never need a KB flying the F15 and I assigned all I need to switches and the hats. sorry for the long write up though
  23. after connecting my rift i found out in te setting my warthog controller was messed up , what i did is that i exited DCS , i went to the start menu > thrustmaaster>update firmware . i updated the firmware although they were the same version as b4 . the problem were gone.
  24. Nevada on my CV1 runs so smooth and clean , way better than 1.5 . also the visuals in Nevada in VR is alot better .
