Thanks guys for the help , i followed your advice of tuning the graphical settings and see what happens , apparently it had to do with the settings . i turned off HDR and the shadow as well . i now run the game on PD 1.8 with no stutter at 75 fps texture : high terrain texture: high vis : Ultra tree and clutter : off preload radius 65000 i dont know what the preload radius does but its the one that is causing this issue , if i set it to the VR recommended level it does this loading thing evrey now and then . if i keep it at 65000 all is good. i had to OC my CPU to 4.5 GHz and OC the VGA in order to get a smooth fps. Edit : i also forgot to mention that im running starway caucus texture . would it be better to run it without a mod

^^^ @ neilwillis : ok good point will try that tonight but what about this hiccup for millisecond accompanied by the hourglass symbol of loading , is that a settings related ? is the game loading something or what ???

hello Oculus User . I just got my Oculus this last weekend . I've setup every thing and installed the required software for it (1.10.1) . the setup went well and every thing works flawlessly also during the setup it went and checked the tracking area and im already in the center of the circle. I ran the oculus experience and Euro truck simulator 2 and both runs like butter no judder or a single hiccup. now to my question. i ran DCS 1.5.5 update 1 the instant mission of the F15 and have my settings : texture :high terrain texture : high Visibility : high Shadow : flat only Civ traffic : off hdr : on heat blur : off effect : none my PD is set to 1.7 and tree clutter to minimum the mission ran flawlessly except close to the city where it drops a little bit and slow down. but sometime when its running good and i go to look left or right i get alike small blackness to the side of my movement with hourglass symbol in the corner like its loading something ? why is that and is it something related to my setting that i can turn off??? that only happens for a split second though but it affects the immersion level. also i get it more in multiplayer in single player it happens very less to none. DO you guys lower your settings for multiplayer than it is in single player ? without the rift my graphical setting is the same for both single and multiplayer , is the Rift different ? also one last thing , what do i need to turn off in my settings that is not necessarily needed for rift so that i can bump the PD to 2.0 ? ( is there big difference from 1.7 to 2.0 ) my Rig is : i7 4790k @ 4.4ghz 2 970 gtx in Sli mode 16 gb ram Gskill extreme level @2666 mhz

I know that this might be too much to ask you but I would really appreciate it if you can make a similar video from your phone showing the F15 gauges such HSI and the radar screen. Im mainly getting the VR for the F15 and I just want to see how the gauges look . Thank you very much in advance.

Guys I will shed in my 2 cents. First of all I have track ir 5 also I used to have Oculus rift DK2 ( I sold it before CV1 comes out so I can buy CV1 ) . im waiting on my CV1. Although when I used to have DK2 I couldn’t get DCS to work on it, BUT I could get it to work flawlessly in another 2 games that I used to play for over 2 yrs using 2D monitor those games are EURO TRUCK SIMULATOR 2 & ALIEN ISOLATION . now here is what I thought. 1 – No matter how much I tell you or describe it to, you will never know what a VR is till you put one On try it yourself and stare for your first 15 minutes with your jaw dropping in awe and probably your wife looking at you from outside and thinking that you are watching porn inside the goggles. This is how I was when I first got Euro truck to work on Rift. It was just … I can’t describe it. I used to play Euro truck for over 2 yrs and now since I sold the DK2 I cant even play it because its just not good anymore. What Hansangb is telling you is correct, it would be like if I take your I PHONE 6 from you and give you back an old Motorola you will never use it again since you tasted how touch screen works on your Smartphone. I was there inside the truck driving and staring at road signs and looking at the cars around me , you never get that feeling when staring at 2D monitor , you are immersed inside that world. 2 – I was playing alien isolation on 2D monitor when it came out , it was mmm just like any other action games , good graphics , good music and nice atmosphere but nothing scary. even when i had my first encounter with the Alien it was just... meh. . So when I knew that the game could work on the rift i put the Rift on and I try to play Alien isolation and I swear I stood there scared to move because ….. how would I say it , The rift took you there you are walking alone inside a damaged space shuttle surrounded by fear of what is going to jump in your face , The music and the atmosphere just make you feel that you are inside a movie and your are the hero of that movie . Im sorry if im making this long but honestly if you didn’t try it so no matter how much we describe it you would have to try it yourself . its like if I try to describe how food tastes VR is a new revolution and it’s in my own opinion the future of gaming i remember when the first 3D game came out like wolfenstien 3D and DOOM 1 &2 and i was playing it and a few friends of mine were still playing 2D games like prince of Persia ( the first one ) and i was trying to explain to them how is 3D gaming are like. Now the question is can I play Euro truck or Alien again on 2D monitor again, the answer is I cant and I never did since I sold my DK2 its just crab . now im only worried that if I played DCS on CV1 that I will never be able to play it again on a 2D setup. Sorry for making this long but really VR in DCS i can only imagine how it will be and i cant wait to get my hand on the CV1 and later CV2

Assuming that Leavu server comes back online which i doubt it will but you need to setup your server export as : player export = on, sensor export = off , with that setup Leavu will not work as intended and people with helios profile still get their profile working.

can you elaborate on the F15 issue , i pre ordered the rift just for the F15 after the hype i got from every one , Can you read the HUD in the F15 , Can you see the Radar screen and get info of bandits also can you see the RWR and make what is what ? even if you have to lean its okay .

Hello Oculus Rift owner , i have a few question to ask you guys and i hope your answers will help me in my decision. You see the issue is that my birthday had come and as a BDay gift my wife offered me to choose between a Samsung 34" curved screen for my gaming or the Oculus Rift. Im actually tore apart between the two ( I know i would love to have both world but ..its only one thing ) I previously had DK2 and it was a horrible experience not to mention that i couldn't get DCS to work with DK2 . Now that ive seen alot of you playing DCS with CV1 my questions are : 1- Im mainly a F15 pilot , Can you read the radar screen and operate it with CV1 , By saying can you read it i mean are you able for example to read the bandits Altitude and the other numbers on the radar even if you lean forward ? 2- With DK2 i had to have a monitor that can handle more than 60Hz is that the same case with CV1 , Do you have to have a monitor that runs above 60Hz refresh rate. 3- The CV1 requirements on their website indicate that it needs 3 USB 3.0 , My pc has only 2 USB 3.0 if i get a USB hub with 3 output can i connect the Oculus to the Hub. Also im not planning to use the built in headset that comes with the Rift or the other hand grip thing . would it then need less USB output ? Thank you every one in advance.

Is simple radio standalone working?? I cant seem to be able to connect to the given IP of Simple radio. Also if possible can the 104th server make a list of common frequencies for both sides, Like for an example Blue would have XXX.xx for CAP. XXX.xx for Ground attacker. XXX.xx for Helicopters. XXX.XX for GCI . the same as well for Red side . That way when ever any newcomer joins at any given time the freqs are already established and no need to ask on the Chat what Freq for what. Thank you in advance.

I have the same issue , when i installed the mod my needles in the HSI were black that i couldnt use it . Any fix on that ??
