What confuses me the most is that Starway almost made it to the official ED Mod section, but somehow (because of security restriction) bounced off. And now the integrity check is running, it gives you a red shield if you have Starway's texture active... Very, very weird, ED...
Must be, although I personally think it's a bit exaggerated compared to the IRL ground effect. Especially on the NTTR map it is sometimes almost impossible to make a smooth landing.
Stupid question perhaps, but if I bring up the kneeboard, it shows like a "static" pic in one corner. Moving my head moves the view from within the A/C, but the kneeboard remains static. In your YTvids the kneeboard is clearly "floating" in the pit. How do you bring that up? (excellent work, by the way!!)
You certainly can't be too fast; in your proc.list you state that before you press "Load all" you armed the EAC. Arming the EAC is only posssible after the CDU finished the init; at 4.0.0.8 you have to press "NAV" on the MFCD, followed by INS on the NMSP. After that, you are able to arm the EAC..
Scott, I tried. When I select "Hear like in helmet" I'm unable to hear the popping of the flares is (in the cockpit).
When I untick the option, the sound is back again.
For the record: I always had the option ticked. So something has changed for sure.
Not sure if it's a bug, or intended, but if I move my head from forward-facing to left or right, the engine sound almost disappears. If I move a bit more left or right, so looking aft, the sound reappears again...?
No changes whatsoever, only thing was the last update, and since that I can't hear the flares poppin while in the cockpit. In the outside view, they make the familiar sound, but in the pit, only chaff can be heard, no flares...
Weird thing is that if differs from user to user..?? Only thing that is NOT synced is my flaps setting: when I jump in a cold pit, everything is according to my WH settings at that moment, including fuel cut off/idle setting, except the flaps: no matter what setting on the throttle, the flap switch in the cockpit is in forward position..
Could also be that you assigned yourself #2 of 2..?
And to have the wingman started at the same time is only possible (IIRC) if you put both planes "start from runway" in the ME. But I could be wrong there. When starting up cold from platform as #1, your wingman will wait until you begin to roll and follow you. If you taxi up the runway and prepare for t/o, he will wait at the holding.
Scott, tnx. But I made that a really solid habit: the moment I see the DCS updater, I don't press anything but go to the JSGME editor and remove ALL the mods. Then I press update, and let the game run. If that's ok, I reinstall the mods again.
Must have been something weird, also because a normal repair didn't work out but deleting the ME folder and reparing after that was the thing that helped.
Only mods I can think of are Starways texture, Frenchys NVG and RWR mod for A10C. But will do as you suggest and post results.
**EDIT** deleting the ME folder and repairing did the job; tnx!!
Attached. Found that I can select the greyed-out MI-8 as PLAYER, but when I press the green "V", nothing happens. And I can't return to main menu anymore.
