  1. It certainly is a proven method, but I'm convinced that when you finish your calculation, the 10nm have been flown over a few times...
  2. Holy Hog, you just won the award for "biggest forum bump 2016"....
  3. Free turn..?? What do you mean with that? Lctrl-C (or double click middle mouse button) will give you free look with the mouse...
  4. About the landing lights: to my experience since 2.0 you have to call ATC and declare you're inbound. After that, the runway lights were turned on.
  5. If I win, the Mig21 goes to my nephew; no joke!! He's 13 and flies the Su25 and the Hawk and I want to let him fly a real a/c! About winning last 3 months: count me in for this competition. Because I never, ever, win whatever. Fine! My added point: merry christmas, and a happy new year. Rep upcoming for this great action, teşekkür ederim!!
  6. Great action pal; rep upcoming! I'm participating, but not for myself; if I win I'm passing it through to my nephew (no money, only weekly allowance). Nick is GurbY
  7. Not so much to do with turbulence, but I noticed hovering above an aircraftcarrier that the instant I moved a LITTLE over the ship's side, the UH began to lose hight.. Very nice and realistic modelling!
  8. Ca too..... Would love to play that!
  9. Wow! Merry Christmas! I would like to join for my nephew!!
  10. I would be very very happy with either one of them, but if I really had to choose, I guess I would pick the Mi-8...!! Fantastic community/christmas action; cheers and rep upcoming!
  11. And again, as stated by Blooze, china hat aft long has another function...
  12. True. However, it looks exactly the same as my (player driven) hog after a non-fatal hit by a sam. So, not only AI is effected.
  13. Seen the same in 2.0... Sounds like a bug, not a feature.
  14. I was flying from Nellis via Amargosa Valley to Creech. When I reached Amargosa, I switched to steerpoint Creech (DMSup) and the tadpole showed a fly-to direction of 240.... Too late to make a screenshot, but will try to recreate it. After moving to the right (instead of to the left, as the tadpole suggested), in a few seconds it moved to 60 (and counting down after that).
  15. I couldn't get it to work either. Been searching around, and found some info that stated that the manual must say "inoperable" somewhere, however, can't find that anywhere. Will search and try more!
  16. And after you tuned in the frequency the needle on the HSI isn't moving? (don't know, never tried it myself; I use the TACAN. Will try tonight.)
  17. It looks indeed as if there is some turbulence simulated. On final with an empty plane, it's difficult (or, more than in 1.2/1.5) to keep the plane on glideslope or the TVV on the runway. After trimming the plane, setting up the right AoA etc, you notice more movement. Constant adjusting is more needed than in previous versions.
  18. I made a "how-to"for our squad. See below. DCS-A10C iPad CDU/AAP app 1. First, search and download the app on your iPad in the Appstore. Windows link: http://www.apppicker.com/apps/956722244/dcs-a10c-cduaap 2. Goto Github and download the export.lua file: https://github.com/infinitesun/dcs-export.lua/archive/master.zip 3. Extract the .zip file and place the export.lua file in C:\users\%yournamehere%\Saved Games\DCS Open Beta\Scripts **note: it is possible (with a clean install) that the script directory does not exist. In that case: create it. **note2: The above directory assumes the DCS Open Beta (1.5) version. For install in 1.2, change to \DCS\Scripts. Same for Alpha 2.0, change it. 4. Go to the export.lua file in the scripts dir and open it with a text editor (Notepad++). 5. Start the app on the iPad. In the screen of the CDU you see an IP adress, like 192.168.0.39:9089 or similar. Copy this adres MINUS the port (the numbers behind the : ) 6. In the export.lua file, go to the line that says "cduAppHost=" (mostly the last line in the file). Add the ip number you just noted. Check if the port setting on the line beneith it is correct. 7. If you start DCS and choose a mission with the A10C you now see that everything you enter on the CDU in the pit, is reflected on the app on the iPad. Heeee... if you enter something on the iPad, you don't see it in the pit. TADAA... it works!! 8. You firewall, that's what working there. So, before you start DCS (step 7) ;-) you go to your firewall settings in Windows, and add the DCS.EXE file. Heeey.. it's already added? Correct. But.. is it the Open Beta .EXE file? So... check if the firewall settings are correct for the '\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCSOpen Beta\bin\DCS.EXE file. Or Open Alpha. Whatever. You know what I mean by now. 9. If step 8 is correct, it is now fully functioning!! To change the panel: swipe with your finger over the CDU display (on the iPad ofcourse, not in the pit) up/down and right/left. 10. HAVE FUN!
  19. Yeah using a a while already; its a very descent app, sometimes a little bit irresponsive but works really well overall. Hope this guy brings out something that connects to the MFCD's too.. would be great!!
  20. I certainly noticed that too, much more runway needed!
  21. Haven't experienced it myself. However, from IRL flying, there is a so called ground-effect. A sort of cushion of air that increased your lift when you reach a certain altitude above the ground. It doesn't result in more flaring (as in: more nose up) but does result in a little more lift, thus resulting in less sink rate. It COULD be that it's implemented in the flight model; not sure because I haven't experienced it myself in the A10C. Will try to test.
