I feel this question needs to be asked about all of the current proposed modules. Prior to this, Sithspawn had stated that ED did not police what sort of modules Third Parties were allowed to pursue. That policy has clearly changed and so clarification as to the standing of all proposed modules is required.

A good choice, and dovetailing nicely with your acquisition of a MiG-19P team.

The reason why you're getting a strong pushback from implying that "Someone else is working on it" when we absolutly do not know whether or not that is true, is because if you say it enough times, eventually people start thinking that. And then if you ask them for proof, they'll link back to a whole bunch of folks saying that's the case, when at the very heart of it, it was one person projecting their own desires onto a statement that did not confirm or deny anything. In circumstances like these, it's important to be clear and use the proper language to prevent backlash on the third party developers if "what everybody knows" turns out to be false. @Clark As to calling "dibs". I have explicitly asked this of both VEAO and LN and Sithspawn in the past and all have stated in no uncertain terms, there is no "Dibs" system in place for DCS, and that multiple people could theoretically work on the same module. If this has changed, it's a change that's been made within the last two years.

Or how about we compare airframes crashed at this point in development on the others. It has had the safest, least lethal development of any fighter aircraft I can think of. No crashes, no deaths. Even the F-22 had a crash under its belt by this point.

Yes, it even says so in their original thread in the 3d Modeling section. It's a MiG-23 MLA Flogger G. The MiG-19 is a P variant, though if it's a late P with Alamo's they haven't said.

Well no they said they sent it to QA at ED. Now traditionally it takes around 2-4 weeks for a module to get greenlit from ED's QA process, so long as everything goes to plan. It then goes on presale for around 4-6 weeks, during which time keys are generated, ect. So realistically, at the earliest it would be 6 weeks.

He's busy helping the Community A-4E right now, so the Skyraider is on hold until that's complete.

You can set it to not go away when looking at the HUD or inside the aircraft on the DED.

No Harpoons. The AV-8B(NA) does not have a radar. The + has the same APG-65 radar that was in the Hornet, which is both air to air and air to ground.

I would imagine that'll fall under the $400 million dollar upgrade already promised, and the life extension program not yet estimated.

It's a little more complex than that. McDonnall Douglas and Northrop worked together when making the F/A-18. A lot of countries were looking into getting the F-18L, which Northrop would primarily be responsible for making, enough in fact that McDonnall Douglas got concerned about not being able to sell any of their own F-18s on the international market, so they sued Northrop. By the time the dust had cleared on the settlement, interest for the F-18L died out because of other aircraft (the F-16 and the full version of the F-18 ) had already filled the potential orders that the F-18L was originally intended for. It's definitely one of the bigger "**** You's" in aviation manufacturer history.

Nope. They thought about making a 'land' version of the original legacy hornet and scrapped it. A few legacy hornets in other countries do have some minor modifications, like removal of the launch bar, but they found that caused swaying in the nose wheel, so most put it back or replaced it with a dummy bar. 'Decarrierizing' an aircraft generally just isn't worth while. You're not going to replace the landing gear, most combat aircraft have hooks anyway, the heavy structure reinforcement is part and parcel of the airframe and can't be removed anyway, and removing the launch bar nets you next to nothing.
-
So because the Trudeau government got wrapped up in opposing something they didn't understand, they're going to shell out the cost for 18 Super Hornets, $400 dollars in temporary upgrades to their Legacy Hornets, a full life extension program for those same Legacy Hornets, and then run an 'independent competition' to find that the F-35 is the better aircraft anyway and purchase those, with the additional potential cost of trying to buy back into the program, and the potential loss of contracts withdrawn from Canadian contractors? Am I getting this right?

The Super Tucano is RAZBAM's next module. The Harrier is just way more exciting to most of us so we talk about it more.. The F-18C release will have no affect on the AV-8B(NA) Release schedule, though it is possible delays with the Hornet will affect the later AV-8B+ release, as the ground radar system RAZBAM wants to use is the ED one. Whether we'll see the Harrier first or not is too early to tell. So far we've seen some basic shots of the Harrier in game, but it's likely very early in flight model development, and we've seen no (as far as i can recall) cockpit images nor cockpit systems modeling, which is the other hard part of making modules.

I wasn't sure, since I've run int a surprising amount of people who don't know Rhino was also the Phantom's nickname :megalol:

Trade the dilapidated for the inferior? No, there's a reason why USMC F-35 buys have been accelerated. Say what you will about the F-35, the one thing everyone agrees on is that it's perfect for the Marine Corps.
-
Nope, the AV-8B manual contains sections about the Sidearm.
-
To be fair, there's probably F-4s in the boneyard in better shape than most of the current USMC Hornets.
-
The premise of your other thread was F-35 vs F-16, that's an F-35 thread. As long as you two are talking comparative aerodynamics with respect to the F-35, then there's no reason to have another thread about it, especially not with F-35 in the title.
-
No, it's been stated flat out by BST that they were working on the AH-1W with the Mi-24P to follow. Whether or not the timetables has been moved I've seen no remarks on, but they have confirmed those are the modules they are working on.

Already being done by Belsimtek.

I can't find anywhere that says that the intake ramps are external specifically to produce lift. Can you link the article or reference you're using to indicate this?
