plane should be green for designation A/G mode, bombs configured bombs selected mode auto i get the brackets under my FPM but unlike before there is no pipper- depressing TDC does not trigger any sort of designation on the ground either.

did they change how this worked? it used to be SNSR SELECT FWD for auto bombing mode visual designation but it no longer seems to work. wasn't included in patch notes go figure. re.

trouble is not AMRAAM, but poor hornet kinematics and SA. 35k M1.6 eagles should routinely trash flankers and everything else. due to ridiculous kinematics and unparalleled SA.

each waypoint (including waypt zero on the tanker itself) needs to have the altitude set. if you are using the orbit command, it has it's own altitude setting which will override normal altitude waypoint orders.

certain sectors of the map don't have a "max zoom" ground texture. make TAD SOI and press DMS down to zoom out and you will see the color map.

mig21 is another one that won't extend your gear. some legit do though- i think the A-10 does.

hornets lose regardless of skill. there is an input overhead that limits you, the sensors are currently not very good and it has a number of kinetic disadvantages ATM. it will eventually be the best plane in the sim more than likely (at least as an all-rounder) but it has a long trek up the mountain. i expect that probably 30% of it's repertoire will end up being banned anyway. JASSM, HARM, JSOW, are going to be real egregious when placed in the same ring as everything else in sim just IMO.

this isn't even true. there are two other sims i can name off the top of my head that have solved the problem. the reason everybody complains is that it's not actually a hard problem. you could just copy what EVERYONE ELSE ALREADY DOES and you will be 90% of the way there at least.

you will never end up through the merge in a F/A-18 as you don't have the ability to spam countermeasures (not enough) you will die to a nose on shot with near 100% certainty. at ground attack it's not any good. bombs aren't very accurate as the tgt designation tools available are very primitive. nobody expects an F-5 to do well, which is why when it goes 1:3 no one is surprised. F/A-18 on the other hand is kind of expected to hold it's own, but with a series of broken systems hampering it it's not that effective. any team that has more hornets than the other team is doomed i think, though this may change in the future as it's capabilities get more ridiculous.

data link nothing. if there is more than 5 targets on scope you can end up in surprise merges as it's impossible to keep track of who's friendly and who's enemy. at a glance IFF and a bar scan that works would be better than L16 at present

it was a nice competition. i think i prefer PG to georgia. it's certainly easier to see targets. the big change besides that was AMRAAM availability, which was interesting and i'm not sure how to feel about. i personally prefer SARH-only but B-77 wasn't too bad i think, though personally i felt that red (actually blue) was handicapped by the addition of the hornet as it's radar and SA-maintenance are pretty poor, and it's low top speed in combat configs means it will lose jousts it gets into if it doesn't have numerical superiority. but yeah, fun round. please don't take 6mon before you run one again, blue flag is THE reason to play DCS imo.

everybody loads helicopters way too heavy. 2 rocket pods and a gun, maybe. tops. otherwise you aren't getting over those mountains baby.

one pass and haul ass fren, if you are making more than two passes you are doing it wrong personally but really this issue is exacerbated by the fact that there are no old MANPADS in game, either you have no manpad whatsoever or you have modern and supercapable SA-14. if we had SA-7 it wouldn't be so bad.

he's right what harm is this going to cause to real people in real life and if harming pixel people is wrong, why is harming them with nukes not OK but harming them with gunfire, or MK82s OK? i would like to hear your response

people are still getting disgusted by a new weapon in a sim where you routinely clusterbomb inhabited cities it's pixels guys, seriously calm down like this is jack thompson ban GTA level here now nobody is going to see a firestorm in DCS, then somehow become president of a nuke power and begin world war III because they observed it in a VIDEO GAME.

napalm is not in the game, but it's going to be added to 2-3 platforms eventually, so it will be have to be added. there's no problem really in adding it, but it will require work as it's weird end over end tumble and wide oblong dispersal shape make it different than most GP bombs.

you can edit the effective explosive yield in the game files but it breaks integrity AFAIK, IE it's mostly useless.

it makes a cool setpiece. you'd never use it in MP though, especially if it has any sort of standoff. too powerful. might be nice to have in a campaign though. also makes neat video fodder. pretending that there is some sort of moral prohibition about building pixel nukes btw is pretty ridiculous. by the same token we're all apparently murderers because we've knocked over a bunch of pixel men with pixel mk82s from our pixel aircraft nukes are realistic for some aircraft, those aircraft should have them for muh realism, might as well make the weapons themselves realistic too. the current mig21 bombs are just "MK84x100000" which is pretty lame. once the map eventually gets filled in, nukes will allow us to play some pretty spooky east v. west 1980 WWIII scenarios that nukes would probably feature in, it's a nice narrative element and people being unnecessarily dismissive is pretty stupid.

it would be nice if they would fix crippling problems to the modules that have been in for a month for instance the F/A-18s sticky barscan it's ****ing killing me
