I don't know wether this is the same but I continually find that the aircraft starts off, either in the air or on the ground, with too much right aileron trim applied and I always have to trim to the left for balanced flight.

Almost certainly, because I just tried it, you are running in window mode and Kuky is running in fullscreen. If this is the case then you should be able to move that window with DCS in wherever you want.

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Loz replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
But NOT if you are trying to use Crossfire, as that doesn't work in a window!! Your crashing problems are coming from elsewhere IMHO. Yes you can run additional monitors to an eyefinity setup (I have an additional 23 inch touchscreen running of a seperate video card) and windows will recognise them, DCS will only output to them when run in windows mode (ie: NOT fullscreen) I don't have the 6950 but I've been looking at them and the 6970 and although you have 5 connectors the native support from one of those cards only supports output to 4 Monitors. The HDMI connection is shared internally with one of the DVI connections. (incidentally when running Crossfire you do not get any output out of the second card, as far as I'm aware.) And whilst, you will eventually be able to run 6 Screen eyefinity, you need a DisplayPort 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport converter, which are not yet available or a display port 1.2 enabled monitor to daisy chain the output. Good explanation here and a bit more technical here Hope this helps but sorry if I've shattered a 6 screen hope (for now anyway) -
Is a touchscreen monitor a good idea?
Loz replied to latearrival's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I certainly hope so, LOL, because after deliberating long enough I've ordered the HP 2310ti. Now I can't wait for it but will put on hold my attempts to make a Helios panel. My substitute monitor is only 1680x1050, so I'll only have to do it all again as the HP is 1920x1080. -
Something wierd with the pic size aspect. I'm sure it doesn't look like that in the sim. But I like the skin. Cool :D

Just a thought but can you change the resolution of you 22" monitor to 1440x900 also. I have found the the sim seems to like vertical resolutions to be the same. Worth a try! -

Glad I got it wrong for CBR9 :) Don't know whether they are going to bring that one out for the UK. It's not in their current line up. Dell seems to have given up putting VESA mounts on their monitors though. -

Have you received your monitor yet. I'm interested because I read on the official Dell Forum that this monitor has to be assigned as the windows primary monitor for the Touch Screen to work?? You may want to look Here If true then I would think that might cause problems particularyly with a Multi Screen Setup using Helios. It has certainly put me off wanting this monitor as I'm sure it would cause all sorts of probs with my setup. -
Reccomendations for new headset/mic
Loz replied to shackman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I origionally would buy the cheapest headset available but they were forever breaking one way or another (no great surprise) So then decided to spend a bit more for these by Sennheiser. I've not been disapointed since. -
Ha Ha That's come back to haunt me. As of Beta 4 I can't get Crossfire to work at anything other than slide show, and can't seem to get RadeonPro to work with it at all.

Warthoggers: Updated firmware released
Loz replied to topdog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks hassata. I was wrong. I should have said it came with Firmare Version 9 installed but on the TM site it says Firmware Version 10 for the Joystick and 18 for the Throttle?? http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=311&cid=1 ?? -
Warthoggers: Updated firmware released
Loz replied to topdog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have just received my "new" Warthog Joystick from TM France. It didn't take too long considering the time of the year, I suppose. BUT I have found that the Joystick firmware is version 9 and should be updated but I'm afraid to do it. :joystick: -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Loz replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
The only decent performance that I can get with the 3 Screen eyefinity, (6050 x 1200) is for it to be in Full Screen and using the RadeonPro utility. Then even with my fourth monitor running Helios, aside from the Beta 4 know slowdowns of Smoke/Dust decimating the FR, I get between 20-30 FPS (all high except Mirrors Off, Water Med, Traffic Low.) It would appear that there is no known way of exporting the MFCDs outside of the parameters set by the .lua -

Looks good Airdog I'd also like to know whether this will ever be achievable??? -
I simply use two thin strips of heavy duty type Velcro on the Bezels and have stuck a suitably thick square rubber pad to the opposite corner of the MFCDs, where it rests on the screen. As an update on my progress with the visual side of A10-C, I have tried running an extra card, an HD 5450 with my HD5970. The intended purpose is to have an eyefinity (3 screen) layout above the fourth screen on to which I can run Helios. (a beta prog at the moment but thoroughly recommended) It looks good but there are problems. As you can see ideally I would want the MFCDs to be in the fourth screen (they are pretty useless in ALT F1 view where they are now) and you can't do that at the moment, as you cannot export the video of the displays to the fourth screen when running the other 3 in eyefinity. (If anyone knows a way around this I'd love to know) There is also a frame rate issue, in that with such a large display you need to use Crossfire. But that will only run on Fullscreen not in a window. It's all a bit "catch 22" at the moment. The potential is there but we are not quite there yet. If I can get it to run smoothly with this layout and get the MFCDs in the correct monitor, then I will change the lower monitor, which is only a 20" Samsung TV/Monitor to a 23" Touchscreen, probably the HP 2310ti. One other config that I have tried and works well with the exported MFCDs is using just the two centre screens, and with Helios that works pretty well as a "desktop pit" Excuse the crapy monitor stands. Have you seen the price of those specially constructed Vesa Stands Sheeesh!!!

I've had this happen too.

Thanks. Gosh wish I lived in US. Dell SX2210T costs £299 here in UK!! On a related thread, does anyone know whether I can run a second PCIe Card (Nvidia 9800GTX) when I've already got an ATI HD 5970 running my Eyefinity??

Problem with Warthog Throttle
Loz replied to Jg2001_Rasputin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Feel for you guys. Firmware update "did" for my Joystick and it's on it's way to TM in France as we speak. Hopefully I'll get another one sent out before Xmas and Beta 4. (Mind you I'm glad that I kept my Cougar for my RCS and the Warthog Joystick works well in the base.) -
That's a great setup Paul and does away with any need for the TM MFCDs and also gets around the problem of something to run the UFC from. Love it. Only prob is that I've already gone to town on 3 x Dell U2410s and I know that 19" touchscreen will be loads of money. Out of interest how much does Helios cost?

Agreed. RCSimulations, is a reliable company with good after sales service. (No affiliation here but I have bought a few things from them over the years.) -
Warthoggers: Updated firmware released
Loz replied to topdog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Update TM have finally admitted defeat with my Joystick that refuses to update the firmware. I have sent the base of the Joystick (ie minus Stick and Base plate) to them in France and they are going to send me a replacement. Thank goodness I kept my Cougar (for running my RCS Pedals) as now that, with the Warthog Stick inserted is allowing me to continue flying the Beta. :pilotfly: -
There is all you need to know in this thread :joystick::pilotfly: My ../Config/MonitorSetup/WS2MFCDs.lua is below
-
I find it comfortable there, and means I don't have to go hacking into my study floor for a stable mount. Anyway ergonomicly it works, even though not realistic for the hog. RL flying has made me happy with it there.

Another option if you have a triple screen setup is as below. So in answer to your origional question. Yes MFCDs are definitley worth it but beware, make sure they are Version 2 (It only shows this on a small label on the base.) As the first version had lots and lots of switch and unit failures. I returned two sets of them and I'm still haggling for my money refunded.
