  1. If you have more than one monitor in your computer setup, Helios adds so much to this sim Have a look here
  2. Not that I have ever flown an A-10 but I have flown a few versions of the Boeing 737 and on that aircraft pressing the white cross was the means by which you could restore the panel backlighting, if it had failed or was intermittent. Don't ask me how it worked but it did. :D
  3. PeterP, brilliant find on the positioning of the GUI. I hadn't really found the oversized GUI a problem before until I wanted to look at MP where it is a mess and hard to use. Now with this Gui addition to the monitor.lua (adjusted for my setup) it's brill. :) Recommended to all Multi Monitor users. :pilotfly: (ps. Well deserved Rep sent :D )
  4. OK and if you want to be able to operate those MFCDs from your extra screen you will need to run either Helios or Hawgtouch as well. :)
  5. No my mistake, I thought it was Helios showing in your lower monitor but now that I can see it is a continuation of the ingame cockpit. But what that does mean is that your not leaving any part of your setup for the export of the MFCDs!! Your res to set in the options ingame should be the combined res of your setup BUT then the res for the "Center" in the lua should be the res of you top screen (1680 x 1050 is it?) Therefore change it to this and try. Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1680; height = 1050; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.6;
  6. Turn off Helios, cause your MFCDs are underneath it probably. You are going to have to make your own Helios profile with just the surrounds for the MFCDs, positioned to fit over the exports. The one you show in your picture looks very much like mine and that is made for a monitor that is 1920x1080.
  7. I'd also try re-seating the card. That is easy to get wrong! Sorry to hear of your problems, we were all expecting this thing to really fly. :(
  8. Mmmm and not a smiley in sight. Know much about flying big jets do we????? :music_whistling:
  9. They still have to do it every six months in the Sim to revalidate their license though and probably with an engine out or some other emergency.
  10. Agreed. And those are what I use too with the addition that I use Mic Tophat Up on the throttle to call up the Radio Comms Menus, friction on throttle to Zoom. Why with default they use the Joystick POV as views instead of trim, I don't know, so those are changed too.
  11. Me too. :D Quite a few of the reviews that have been published show that they just went into the CCC and maxed out the sliders without any problems. Just hope that the leaked Sapphire document is genuine. At Overclockers UK they have got a stack of MSI reference 7970's in pre release (No price yet!!) and have shown some interesting Heaven v2.5 benchies with them in Crossfire and Triplefire overclocked to 1125 http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18356759
  12. I don't read that the same as you. All other reviews say that it will ship with an HDMI to DVI adapter, hence giving the same four monitor output. They've lost the extra DVI output to make the space for an improved fan out vent. Remember with the stock 6000 series you only had either DVI or HDMI because of the shared clock. Found this Here "So for Southern Islands AMD has taken this to its logical conclusion and cut out the 2nd DVI port entirely. There is now a single DL-DVI port, along with an HDMI port and 2 miniDP ports all along a single slot. The 7970 still has the internal logic to drive the same monitor configurations as the 6970, but anyone using the SL-DVI port will now be fed by the HDMI port. (my highlighting) In order to make this transition easier on buyers, AMD will be requiring that partners ship both an HDMI to SL-DVI adaptor and an active miniDP to SL-DVI adaptor with their 7970s, so 7970 users will be able to drive up to 3 DVI monitors out of the box, which is actually better than what the 6970 could do. Of course we expect that this will be a limited time offer; once AMD’s partners start putting together cheaper cards later in the 7970’s life, the mDP to SL-DVI adaptor will be the first thing to go." Hope this is correct or else AMD won't be seeing any of my money.
  13. Yea not so good for "Green" owners. Four screens or more, time to go "Red" Seriously though a single HD6970 is as good or better than anything else for running this type of setup as things stand at the moment. UPDATE EDIT as at Sep 2012 A bit out of date this, but didn't want to sound too much of an AMD fanboy. Now Nvidia do make single cards that do support 4 monitors.
  14. To be fair I've never benchmarked the hit, taken for exporting to a fourth monitor, but I don't think it is much. Someone else may be able to quantify that. But things are certainly a lot easier with the eyefinity setup, to ouput to multi monitor. The TM MFCDs were there just because I hadn't bothered to disconnect them! I don't use them anymore and really should put them for sale.
  15. If you are interested in someone for Manchester eventually I could be interested. :D (PM sent)
  16. Thanks Duke. Glad you liked it. I've improved the profile even more now and version 2.1 is available for download at scsimulations.com if you are interested. What you suggest for your setup sounds very feasible but I am not well up on that, so the best place to ask would definitely be the forums for Helios. Using the popout side panels is not ideal but the only option for me, without the extra touchscreens........Stop it. don't tempt me. :megalol: Edit: Just found a whole thread about network support in Helios HERE
  17. I'll get back to you Warrior when I've d/l and installed 1.1.1.1 :)
  18. Sorry I have no experience with running Helios with anything other than a standard touchscreen monitor. I suggest you go to scsimulations.com forum and ask there.
  19. Works for me with 1.1.1.0 in A-10C
  20. Ahh There lies a problem. As I understand it you cannot run a four monitor setup with Nvidia SLI! You would have to install another seperate GPU to run the fourth monitor, if you have the Mobo to support it and then you will find it runs pretty slow. That was my experience when I ran a Crossfire card (HD 5970) and another card for the fourth monitor. Someone else may have more knowledge of this, but for multi-multi monitors AMD is a better (easier) solution. IMHO
  21. Thanks Jefx As you can see in my sig, I use an HP 2310ti. It's 23 inch 1920 x1080 monitor which I've had for almost a year now and I've been very happy with it. Win 7 calibration is spot on, it has a VESA mount which for most is essential especially in the 4 screen T config. (and importantly doesn't have too wide a screen bezel especially at the bottom, whereas a lot of others do have.) But I'm not an expert on these. I'm sure others will have differing opinions. :)
  22. Hope you find it useful Metalnwood :)
  23. Certainly can. When you get used to the editor you can take any part of a profile and cut and paste to where you want. There are plenty of examples on the download section of www.scsimulations.com
  24. No problem jeffy. :) Here are four pics showing all eight pullout panels. They look overcrowded, of course because you rarely have to pull them out together like this, except maybe for a full start on the ground. Left and Right Consoles You can see in the above, that after v1.33 and a request from a user to make provision for Non TM Warthog users, I'v included an Eng, APU, Flap, and Auto Pilot panel, as per the Warthog throttle. Radio and CDU Consoles Calling up the CDU panel automatically changes the right MFCD to the CDU page. UFC and TISL panels Airport Chart and Lighting panels Many thanks to SHU77 for his great work on the Airport Charts.
  25. Just like in any other form of flight sim your Instrument panel is there fixed in front of you and doesn't move around as you look around. Plus, as Mac pointed out, it is so much easier and realistic to just reach out and push a button rather than having to take the mouse to it.
