The JSOW A flies over the target then dispenses submunitions. That is the intended behavior...keep watching and you'll see the submunitions detonate. They aren't particularly effective against anything with armor but they are devastating against soft targets.
-
That probably did it...despawning so something else could land at Beslan which is tiny. Seen it with big cargos before but never the Flankers. When removed from the game world this way the GROUP DEAD condition is considered to be met...just need to add a condition that checks if they're in the vicinity of Beslan and disables the ROE violation.

Expand the SEAD option and you should have some more options to change things. If not, there should be a search then engage task in the SEAD category as well. If you want them to attack a few specific targets it may be easier giving them direct attack group/unit orders.

Repair should not remove extra files, only re-download modified game files from the ED servers. Cleanup, on the other hand, will aboslutely kill every single thing that isn't vanilla DCS in in root folder if you give it permission to. Perhaps you ran the latter instead of the former? All custom liveries should go into /Saved Games/dcs.openbeta/Liveries/MODULENAME Sorry if you lost your files! That sucks big time.

Operation Snowfox - Persian Gulf PvE Playground

Thanks for sharing! Added to my queue for the next time I'm puttering around. -
Track downloaded, Bunny, if you want to remove it from your drive.

Thanks for the report; the issue is almost certainly one of the groups in Russia crashing. Those are the only aircraft with an ROE violation associated with them in that .miz...I'll double check that they're all set to land somewhere that makes sense and to go home when they run out of gas. The scoring makes sense in context; at the time the ROE violation would have actually occured in the mission your score would still have been 50 so penalizing the score would send you backwards in the campaign.

Yep. Commands will be executed in order so be sure your orbit is always last in line if you want them to do something else in addition.

The option only appears for aircraft set to "takeoff from ramp." Change the waypoint type at WP0 (or SP for Eastern aircraft) and the box should appear.

Yes, it will make a dent in your framerate; it will also force you to play in borderless windowed mode.. For my .02, though, it's absolutely worth the cost for the ease of interaction with the cockpit, especially in MFD intensive jets like the Harrier and Hornet. 3M Command picture hanging strips do the job just fine for mounting and won't mar the bezel of whatever you mount them to should you decide to sell them later or use them for something besides DCS. On that note, there's also no need to use the specific tiny expensive USB monitors; they're convenient but if you happen to have an old screen lying around you can set anything up to render properly. I have three MFDs mounted to a 19" LCD screen on a tall monitor stand that sits between me and my main screen. It also served as a convenient shelf for the Buddy Fox A-10 UFC.

F-15C The Georgian War Campaign Feedback

Thanks very much for the kind words! -
Short answer is no. Best you can do is make the ground units invisible.

Controlling ships as Game Master
feefifofum replied to Mike*Pirates Cove*'s topic in DCS: Combined Arms
Also - I thought this was happening to you in single player but it merits repetition in case you're on a server somewhere : there is a known issue right now where you cannot control naval units through the CA interface as a multiplayer client. Last I checked it was still working in single player and as the host of a multiplayer session. -
Controlling ships as Game Master
feefifofum replied to Mike*Pirates Cove*'s topic in DCS: Combined Arms
How close are the ships to each other? Are they part of the same group? If not, do their paths intersect? Are they being asked to make any complex turns? If the enemy naval group is invisible, will they attack the desired targets? I don't really have much else to offer without seeing the .miz; lots of possibilities for user error, known issues with the sim, etc. Click "Go Advanced" and attach the file if you'd like an eyeball on it. -
Hi Sanek - Create a template group somewhere players will not find and use this script: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/MIST_cloneInZone My knowledge of Russian is 0 but here is Google translate :) Привет Sanek- Создайте группу шаблонов, где игроки не смогут найти и использовать этот скрипт: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/MIST_cloneInZone

newb error/question with self create missions.
feefifofum replied to nerves's topic in Mission Editor
Hi nerves. Set the skill level on the aircraft you wish to fly to "Player" or "Client." When you click on the aircraft, you should see the menu item come up in the column on the right side of the screen. -
I understand what you're asking, I think. You are correct..the TGP will generate a target point on the HSI, which will remain static. While you can place the TGP into point track on a moving target and the TGP will follow the movement, those generated target points will be static and therefore trying to slave the IR maverick to them will result in the seeker remaining stationary behind the moving target. At this time, there is no way to link the point track function of the TGP to the mav seeker like we can in the A-10C, that will come in the future. Both the TGP and Maverick will track moving targets individually, however, so you can use the TGP to get your maverick seeker close to the target, then undesignate and manually slew the maverick seeker from there. Once the maverick seeker locks a moving target, it will continue to track it.

Depends on the map. Almost everything is, aside from major landmarks and sometimes including them. The only things I specifically remember being indestructible are casinos on the Vegas strip and the various dams throughout the map.

Controlling ships as Game Master
feefifofum replied to Mike*Pirates Cove*'s topic in DCS: Combined Arms
Hi USNVA; the ships are likely stopping due to an obstruction; check their route along the map and be sure there aren't any objects in their path, particularly small islands if you're setting something up in the Persian Gulf map. Generally try to keep them a couple of miles offshore. If you wish to prevent the BLUFOR naval vessels from attacking REDFOR ships, you can add an advanced waypoint action with add->perform command->invisible then check the box to enable the option. Keep in mind, though, this will prevent any other AI from "seeing" the units as well until you turn the option back off via another advanced waypoint action, or a triggered action and AI TASK PUSH. Ships will engage land or other small naval units that are visible to them with main guns and CIWS as appropriate or can be triggered to do so with a FIRE AT POINT action. -
As soon as you place the aircraft, it should automatically be given the "AWACS" and "EPLRS: on" commands in the Advanced Waypoint Actions menu. This is sufficient, the aircraft will support you as long as it remains in the area provided your radio is tuned to the correct frequency. In order to increase the time the jet remains in the area without adding hundreds of waypoints, add an "Orbit" advanced waypoint action. For the rest, I'd recommend checking YouTube. Plenty of content out there that explains the concepts of bullseye etc.

Good guess, but we added windsocks right around where he makes that turn...that's what I'm figuring on. :) -
