China fwd short with HUD as soi makes the mav soi. I've never used it though it must have something to do with being heads up and being padlocked to a tgt in the ground and u wanna slew/engage without looking though the mfcd. IIRC if your mav is not soi u cannot see the wagon wheel symbol.

HUD as SOI, TMS aft short. This will make a spi wherever the predicted weapon impact is. So for guns/rockets, it will be the center the piper. For ccip mode, it will again be the center of the piper. And so on. If u have a tgp u can slave all to spi and see where its at.

Again, it is not a bug... From the -1: "After refueling disconnect and when the slipway door is closed, the air refueling manifold forward of the main tank is automatically purged of fuel by air pressure. The READY light will illuminate for up to three minutes during the purge cycle. The fuel in the line is forced into the R-MAIN tank."

^ yup.

Thanks for the comments Snorre! The flashing pos lights at start only lit up if the apu/ground power/engine gens are on, so it does make a lot of sense what u said. About the landing lights in taxi, I know thats SOP for some cases and other not. Does it depend on the type of airfield?
-
I'd say it depends on some variables. Nonetheless, these might help: When doing startup, position lights to flash (left console, lighting panel). When ready to taxi, taxi/landing lights on if nighttime (front dash, left side). Turn them off while holding short of runway to not confuse inbound a/c. When ready to take the active runway: pos lights to steady, anti-collision lights on. Same setting when airborne. Formation lights are dependant of the flight lead really, usually left on at night. Same for nose illumination (right console, lighting panel, just aft of the formation lights dial). Refueling lights, ON at night when doing AAR (left console, fuel panel, refueling light dial), this will light up the refueling bay in the nose of the a/c and illuminate the engines' intakes. Also when doing aar i turn off the anticol, to avoid disturbing the virtual boom operator XD With NVGs on, it would depend on the flight lead ig he wants anti collisions off. And when fenced in everything goes off.

That has something to do with the some pressure delta in the refueling system, it is not a bug.

On the lighting panel on the right side of the pit, just aft of the formation lights dial you will see "Nose illumination", toggle that on. Now, two lights coming from the wings will point towards the front fuselage. In addition, when refueling u have the refueling lighting dial in the fuel panel (left console) which will set the brightness of the refueling gate aswell as the lights illumunating the engine intakes. For this you need to have "Nose illumination" enabled on the lighting panel (right console). EDIT: And, as snoopy mentioned, lighting in the a10 has been bugged since 1.5 rolled out.

Haha I LOL'd hard with this one.

It's funny cause we still have broken IR imagery but we hear that a new feature might get here that would require to virtually create a new module.
-
In addition to what Gliptal said, you can send tasking, check fuel state of the hooked aircraft (works sometimes), check their ground speed and more stuff. One feature thats mentioned in the manual but it doesn't work is that you should be able to see the hooked aircraft's callsign and weapon load, it works for your own aircraft though (again, sometimes).
-
Once you buy the module the training missions will become available. Sacrilege!!!! You will learn nothing in this mode. Its the "HAWX" version of the game

One lil piece of advice regarding markpoints, each time u create one the cdu goes automatically to the mk point page, this is so u can create an actual mission waypoint with a custom name so u dont have to remember which letter is what.

The hmcs in the a10 can represent pretty much every symbol in the TAD. So situational awareness is greatly enhanced, it aint just another spi designator.

My nose trimm doesn't work sometimes, I wonder why?

I have that configuration aswell. When it doesn't work, do u try using the keyboard directly? Enviado desde mi SM-G920I mediante Tapatalk -

Uhhhmm, do u mean nose down/up? What do u use for timming? stick? Kb? Have u checked the control settings? Enviado desde mi SM-G920I mediante Tapatalk -
For situational awareness sakes, you'd be spending way too much time heads down trying to find tgts with the tad and tgp at the same time.

As Doughboy saud, hook the symbol then spi. The "SPI OFF" indication in OSB6 is the status of your SPI broadcast, so all flights/ aircraft that have your same NET group ID will be able to see your spi as a "two level" wedding cake and a blue line fron your aircraft to your spi. You can start the broadcast by pressing DMS left long. Enviado desde mi SM-G920I mediante Tapatalk

The only thing i can sugest is orbiting to the side where the TGP is. Say your tgp is on your right wing, u wanna do a right hand turn orbit. This way it will only be masked with the wing, if it was the other way around you'd be masking with the whole aircraft. Height parameter depens on the theat, time and distance to tgt, so what ever is safer can be a good start. As for bank angle, the higher the bank the faster you'll have to cut through the air so for the sake of fuel keep it around 30-45. Also note that bank coupled with airspeed dictates how long it takes to do a lap.

Questions: - How stressful is a combat sortie? - How do you prepare physically and mentally for missions? (Pilot rest n stuff) - I've read that sorties in the OAF could have at times 3 vul periods and about 4 to 5 AARs, what was your longest combat sortie? - And this is my fanboy question: what was the most badass weapon delivery you've ever done?

The problem i had the first timei got pedals was that the axis' of the brakes weren't set as "sliders" so make sure u check that checkbox in the axis' properties. Enviado desde mi SM-G920I mediante Tapatalk

Yeah i heard its not adviced. Nonetheless ive seen it being done in a10s. And plus, sim-wise DCS doesn't care XD Thanks for the clarification.

They are also used for parking and taxiing out of small taxiways and ramps. For example, u can turn right in the spot by holding the right toe brake, disabling the nosewheel steering and using only the left throttle, so u can rotate in place. I've seen this being done in a bunch of youtube footages of A10's doing ground procedures. Enviado desde mi SM-G920I mediante Tapatalk

If u look at the lower left part of the hud u will see a "PAC-1" message appear with the first detent, then if u squeeze the second stage it will say something like pac2 (cant remember right now). As for the rocket issue a track or video could help identify it. Enviado desde mi SM-G920I mediante Tapatalk
