I could do without the 262. How about a 109 E-1 or E4? A 190-Ax?? Or an AI Kraut bomber to offset the coming B-17? Let's leave the stand alone rare fighters alone for a bit and go with some mid war stuff.

Yeah. What Art-J says. The SFM and the ability of the AI pilot to work on the edge, coupled with perfect vision, means the lil bugger can do things without a whole lot of errors to work out. WE, however, have to battle the AI and our own little mistakes or misjudgements, and that leads to an accumulation of errors the AI can use against us. Set him to something other than excellent. Unless he is Darkraiderss or DavidRed, excellent isn't something you want to practice against. Oh, yeah, the damage model is garbage, even in MP. More so in SP. You likely have killed him many times but didn't know it because both the pilot and the plane are ZOMBIES. (Head shot required)

I run GEForce Experience for the recording ability. It only advertises that it is on and ready to work when the system is in full screen. Wether I check off "full screen" in config or not, it always starts borderless windowed. I know this because after hitting Alt-Enter, the screen cycle through the black and the GEForce Share option pops up for its little hello. It starts in windowed mode, every time, no matter how it is set.

I've noticed that the gun sight will not lead the target very well. I often have to run the nose up over my target to get hits. Is the gyro not suited for operation outside of, let's say, 15 degrees? I place the adjusted dot on the target, and the rounds fall WAY behind....

I HOPE so! Tough ole gal. If she's modeled like a Mustang I'll be annoyed.

I was snapping wings and blacking out quite a bit, with my old Logitech Attack 3 stick. I just upgraded to a TM 16000m stick, and I haven't snapped wings, and I only blacked out once. I can approach complete blackout, and hang around in tunnel vision for a few seconds more reliably. The TM stick has a greater throw -very noticeable. This gives me a greater range to work within, and I'm fairly certain it's helping quite a bit.

This was one of the best summations of the boost issue I've read. Perfectly sensible. The 21" Spit config was a disappointment. Surely they have the data to model the higher level. It's not like they are taking their bird out, and pushing it and measuring things, right? Performance data is researched, calculated, figured - not actually flown and measured.

Those damned wings

Might be. I pulled wings off at mid point (both at the same time) in a liesurely fight last night, twice. Never blacked out, and I used the heavy breathing as an indicator of stress amount and duration. I don't know what to think at this point. It got to where I pulled the P-51 out of the hanger for the first time since October, and killed a few AI.

So, there is agreement that the wing strength is fine, and that the real problem is not sensing Gs properly (cuz we ain't really flying)?

Bingo. Diving away at speed. But also, some altitude performance. It all works for the better.

Seems to be in the line of the usual answers to this request... "It won't help much, so don't be too worried if you never see it..." Silly answer. If I can push it a little harder, I can run a lil faster and live a lil longer. That's MY choice, not somebody else's. I'd like that ammo, too. "But but.... incendiary won't work well against the 109...." Again, my choice. If it shows up, I'll be happy. Not looking to "even it up." Just true it up.

I can bear witness to that. I've broken the wings at the roots (both in a couple of instances), about half way out for both, and funny enough, a lot of left wing snaps at root and half way mark. I can do it without ever blacking out or pushing the tunnel vision very far. I think for now, the fix is to screw with the axis saturation.

*sigh* I'd just be happy with the fuel and ammo we're supposed to have in the Mustang. The ammo? Yo-yo told me that it couldn't be sim'd until the damage model is fixed, and that wouldn't be until the Normandy map comes out. Whether we get the fuel or ammo is still up for grabs. I suspect we'll get the map and the rest will be "two weeks." I really like how well the Stang flies, but she's a fat, under-powered target. Themz jus the facts. Without teamwork, as she sits now, she's just meat for the grinder.

That's what I'm finding. With my energy up, I seem to stick to the 109 like a bumper sticker for a short bit. My aim sucks, or they'd be DEAD. I loe those cannons. So, with bad aim, the fight eventually comes back to me where I then proceed to break the wings off and I'm gone again.

I set affinity to 2 cores, and my FPS picked up a bit.

In my opinion, the Spitfire bests the Mustang against the Krauts. Even at altitude, the Mustang is a sloppy plane, and loses more altitude in maneuvers than the Germans. Getting back up there is a pain. With the Spit, I can climb better, turn better, hit harder.... If only the flapping WINGS WOULDN'T BREAK OFF I'd have even more success with it. (That has to be a bug.) I haven't touched the Mustang since a month before the Spit came out. I may fly it again when there is a missions for it, or maybe to enjoy the nice trim options and ground attack fun. But for fighting? Nah. Ain't worth the aggravation.

Aileron Trim Is there any aileron trim on the Spit?

I seem to be able to tear off the outer wing sections, or remove the wings entirely in high Gs approaching black out. Is this to be expected? The Stang can do similar things, but it takes a bit more work to break it.
