Well, I gues the Allies just manufactured API and APIT, and even M23 just because it felt good. The ammo had an effect. So did the fuel. As long as the Beta 109 zooms around with impossible damage modelling, you'll see a desire for historically more powerful ammo.

Curse you raidersssssss!!! ::shaking fist:: You add quite a bit of variety in your own way. Welcome. :D

The "balance" meme has been tossed about by nay-sayers re: better 51 fuel for what, over a year, now? And they've had their way. This isn't about "balance." It's about completing the Mustang. The Dora and K4 pilots are very quick to pull stats and numbers and post sheets in defense of a few knots air speed, or roll rate, or climb rate..... because there is evidence to back up their requests. I have ZERO problem with that. But a fighting plane is more than just a machine. It is a machine, its pilot, it load-out and other things like FUEL. Does it really matter what engine is installed in the sim if the fuel to feed it lacks a real-world option? Fuel is part of the module. "Oh, don't be concerned with that. We're just helping you to not blow your engine. We're doing you a favor by protecting you from hurting yourself up there. We know it was available in historically significant supplies, but, you know.... we're not done tweaking the K4 yet." You build a plane that is the cream of the crop, and toss it into a mix with another that is hamstrung in its fuel OPTIONS. I'll be the latest to ask, "Why does supplying this option NOT make good sense?"

DCS: Spitfire Mk LF IXc Discussion

Hehe. Maybe. But I doubt it. Give us the cooler fuel, and we'll call it even, as far as gimmes go. The Kraut has been getting far too much love to max out its perkiness. -

Who the hell knows? A simple fuel boost for the 51 is rejected because, "it won't help much"? It'll be the same for any under-powered Allied plane. I keep seeing tweaks and tunes for the Germans, and for a while, there were updates for something like 2 out of 3 patches. Were they necessary? Why wouldn't the fuel issue be taken care of simply to shut the mouths of the Stang pilots? I don't know what it is, but this silly refusal to hop up the fuel, while bones are thrown to the Krauts is beyond understanding. The reasoning behind it isn't reasoning - it's excuses. -
P-51D M-20 APIT Ammo Belt Mod.
HeadHunter52 replied to OxideMako's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Now, if you can find where to get us better fuel, and maybe a way to bring the 109s back into the realm of reality, we'd actually have a game. -
Will that include a fuel update?

In Boulder City, the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery is replaced with an office park. The roads are there, but the lawns and buildings of the memorial are substituted with some large office buildings. I would love to see it accurately represented. My dad and my best friend's dad are both buried there.

Leatherneck Simulations New Years Eve Update
HeadHunter52 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Yes, I want modules yesterday. Who doesn't? But I understand that building complex virtual machines is way different from filling a machining contract. The devs have to not just build the planes, they often have to build the tools themselves, certain mod them, and go far beyond "let's do this like the last one".... they have to design the planes in a virtual world with the added difficulty to mimicking the real thing. It's a helluva job. I won't bitch. ...much :D -
DCS: Spitfire Mk LF IXc Discussion

Sounds a little bit like a rip of American Patrol.... It's okay, I guess. It's more of a cover for a dance prior to a sqdrn shipping out than something about a deadly machine engaging the enemy. The P-51 theme was a wonderful thing. -

Headphones with mic recommendation?
HeadHunter52 replied to mjmorrow's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
+1 on the PX22. I run one, and the guys on the other end of TS say it's plenty clear. The in-line amp and volume controls allow me to separately adjust in-game sounds and TS sounds. Very handy balance feature. The amp also has in input for a cell phone cable, so you can answer a phone while playing, and converse without taking off the headset. I'm not using that at the moment, but it's a nice feature for pilots that need to stay connected while "disconnecting." The only drawback I've experienced is that ShadowPlay will not record both audio channels. TeamSpeak audio coming IN uses a USB connection. Game audio is via the speaker port. So my recordings get everything except the other guys' voices. I can set both to default and get it all just fine, but the separate volume controls are bound to one dial at that point. -
[REPORTED] Damage Model - Governor and Generator.
HeadHunter52 replied to NightRush's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think that governor needs the first and foremost attention. How in the world does a round come from behind and FIND that thing? It is bay far the most common fault I see, and it's hard to believe it is so vulnerable. It's BURIED in there. Oh yeah... I want my high octane gas.. :music_whistling: -

I'm going to try this, and set a button for that option.... decrease with each press. That oughta get me 2 at a time with good reset control. I have this odd extra unsed button on my G-13 that's been complaining about zero action lately. Selfish ill button..... Thanks guys, for the mental prodding to come to grips with this one. It'll be a none issue soon enough. WOOF!

The model enlargement needs work, yes. But I'm doing well with our settings with famously bad eyesight. I lose things other guy get frantic telling me about. It's RIGHT THERE!!!! So, if I'm doing well enough to enjoy it, I have a hard time seeing why others would walk away. They'll git'er fixed. In the meantime, understand that most have the same handicap, and some of us really get it bad - but still fly. Only the AI have a real advantage. Got my first hat trick with this crazy enlargement. Can't be all that bad.

Drei Schwine running on Dogs of War WWII Server. 3 contested zones begging for a good ground pounding. Opposite sides have mirror image goals. A2A is an option to upset the A2G jockeys. AAA is there to keep you honest. Can you balance your forces? Can you beat the clock? Mission completion requires flying skill and strategic thinking. ......and a bit of luck.

Dogs of War WWII server is running large models over the last few days. Come check it out.

River Raiders is running right now. I have to go take care of life business, but I wanted to let you know it's running. Go kill that professor.....

Question: Can bridges be made to be blown? If so, I'd love that option in Itsy Bitsy. I'd love to bottle up the Jerry Bast... uh, GENTLEmen, and pick them off.

Even while on auto /ripple, etc.... were the two fired so close together as to eliminate the slewing we see after firing off just one? Every rocket after the first seems to throw off the aim.

If a couple variants of certain aircraft were available, the whole issue of what-fought0what could be handled in the server missions. 6 BF109-Gx 2 BF109-K4 4 P-47 4 P-51 or 6 F4U-1 2 F4U-4 and matching period Zekes Server restrictions can be a bugger for pilots wanting to take the best, but for those of us who like specific match-ups, it would be great to see the variants.
