Didn't notice such issue myself. As for the left and right panel there is a mod which makes the font slightly bigger and easy to read. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Have to try other missions then. Thanks Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Ye I heard there is one, never tried it but considering :) Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Will try to get track later. Cbu87 default target practice in nevada quick missions. No changes to hof or rpm, drop precisely above 3 tanks, no impacts. I am able to kill them with mk82s with direct hits so wind should be fine. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Indeed, a vit overcrowded tho.. :) Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

+1 FSX would be gone long time ago if orbx, pmdg, aerosoft, rex and so on weren't able to produce DLCs for it. The community will filter out the crap from the good stuff. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Well just drop a cbu on top of the targets in nevada target range default mission and it doesn't hit them at all and I see some firearms but no hits. tried to switch the camera to the bomb, and the bomblets simply create some firearms but no hits on the targets. I am currently without a monitor, only with rift so I am not sure if a track will work but I can try later. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

No issues in caucasus tho, but in nevada they simply doesn't hit anything. You can see just some minor firearms on the ground and no damage at all. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

I noticed long time ago that they don't work, am I doing something wrong or there's a bug ? Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

And what is fixed in the last 3 years ? They release something which brakes 2 more things then they release a new update to fix those things but breaks something else and yes you can say they fix something in every update :) in the end we have the same number if not more bugs but if you look back the release notes there are a lot of fixes. I am curious how the release notes would look like if they were specifying not only what they fix but what they break as well. Anyway DCS is the best we have so I guess we have to continue support them and hope one day we will have what we are waiting for and it will be neat :) Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Go fly as a wingman to AI lead in a low level flight with helicopters and tell me how it is improved last 5 years. - Missions 3,5,6(didnt go further due to frustration) from huey UN campaign are completely ruined, and yes I can do pretty good formation flying with huey in MP. Compare Caucasus map to the one 5 years ago and tell me what was improved, the ground is still hotter than a running tank so you barely see anything in a10 tgp and not only. Go check the updates in the change logs, you see mostly fixes for a bugs introduced by the previous updates. I had to pause gaming for a couple of months due relocation and now I am back and all I see in the release notes for the new updates are fixed bugs which were not broken before I paused so in the mean time they manage to brake and fix them :) While the major issues are still here not touched. I understand they are a small team and lack of resources etc no problems with that and I do support them completely. But I don"t like the strategy of releasing many new modules and maps while the core needs major fixes, it makes every new release broken at some degree as you need to use it in a broken enviroment. Not to mention most if not all except a10 modules completely lack any proper quality SP campaigns and playground so if you are not a ME guru and have tons of free time to build yourself, you can practice with it learn it and leave it to collect dust. Ofcourse it is their business and they can develop it however they want. We as a customers need to give them feedback so based on that they can make future decisions. EDIT: Forgot to mention - yes they released the new lightning engine for 2.1, the only time I tried it, everything was too bright and overexposed. But I cant use it due to performance issues in VR with it, especially in normandy so I am stuck to the old one.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
metzger replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Hi Guys, How do you handle navigation currently in blue flag ? Do you create flight plans (obviously for the AC which allows you to do it) or just by f10 map ? I am planning to join probably with the Mirage, but I can do a10, ka50 or huey as well. I do have some sorties in blue flag in the past but I might need someone to involve me into it again. Thanks -
I went back to Mirage after 8 months of staying away from it and it because of bugs like INS bombing not working and the bugs are still there, not fixed and still beta, but they already working on harrier which will be probably full priced forever beta as well. So arent the same coders who work on the new module responsible to fix the 1 year old bugs in the released module... A bug for HSI bearing not correct in January which ruins 1st mission in the campaign was reported 1 year ago and still not fixed. I don't want to start a fight here against ED, simply kindly ask ED to start fixing bugs and issues with highest priority as they are too much already and new modules and maps will introduce even more. With the risk of repeating myself, I am freezing my investments in DCS until a major issues are fixed. And I want to mention that I would rather pay for new DM, AI, optimizations and other bug fixes, I have no problems paying them more but I would like to do it for bug fixes and not for new modules currently.

I managed to keep up enough to pass the mission as well. The point is not to fight with his flying as it is not fun but to keep good and steady formation :)
-
It is not by design, it is bad AI, the same is Huey campaign. When AI climb he does only cyclic climb at last moment resulting in immediate loss of speed and when he finishes climbing he accelarate drastically. Add to that that he uses BFM and it is not possible to keep up with his turn/climb/accel performance. Anyway, the campaign really looks good done, similar to baltic_dragon's Mirage campaign. It is unfortunate that Vergeev project was abandoned for some reason. Thanks again for fixing it, as currently there is not many working content for ka-50 :)

In rotary wings the AI, as many missions involves formation flying with the AI and currently its awful and ruins the whole expirience. In ww2 A2A 50% DM and 50% AI, as it climbs and fly unrealistically perfect even damaged, spot everything from everywhere and so on. For modern A2A - mostly AI, as it is overly aggressive at the same time dumb and any sneaky tactics are unaplicable as he always knows where you are. For A2G texture quality, especialy in caucasus where at some places ground is hotter than a running vehicle making spoting extremely hard and unrealistic. AI for extremely accurate spoting and shooting by AAAs. DM for lack of real armor and making AP rounds basically useless as well as rockets due to the bad fragment and blast effect. On top of that add the lack of good and working really realistic campaigns and missions for most of the modules and you will understand my frustration and why I opened this thread :) regarding modules - I agree top notch quality even considering old ones need some cockpit model/textures update.

Let me be precise as well. Exact calculation from my DCS profile: $606.82

After mission one I am very optimistic, looks very promising. Mission 2 is another story, hopefully there are no more missions as a wingman as current AI level is erratic :D and brings more frustration than fun trying to fly formation with AI lead :/

A loss of hydraulic fluid and pressure should occur and some electrical failures as well as well. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Anyway hopefully ED will release 2.5 soon enough and and fix most of the problems. I agree dcs modules are second to none. This is why I stay with it and keep buying almost everything. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

I completely understand your point. I am not saying historically correct recreation but at least to some degree it must be. Tell me a good SP campaign for mig 15 then ? Realistic one with missions with specific tasks and story not only mig vs sabre engagements where you have to kill the migs or you failed. And then what good missions with a2a gunfight can we have with the current level of AI and DM ? DM for a2g is as bad as a2a. Blast effect, AP and HE bullets doesn't matter as tanks doesn't have armor at all etc. There are many many things to be fixed in the general environment which are ruining every possible good scenario. Adding a weather challenge and proper atc procedures I am not touching this. Now why releasing all that modules and maps when the general environment needs major fixes addresed years ago ? Old models are not updated, only newly introduced bugs have been fixed. Many stock campaigns for the old modules are long ago broken, some fixed by forum fellas (thanks guys) many not. Mig21 was released back in 2014 (might be wrong) and still has bugs, performance issues and lack of campaigns and missions with only possible realistic scenario vs f5 engagments (damage model and AI again). Now why I am not willing to pay more full prices - when I buy alpha I expect to see frequent updates and fixes in next months and eventually final release asap, instead we have now another alpha already 3-4 months and good old talks about 2.5. As I already stated all the efforts put in Ww2 could be for fixing major flows and then creating modules for good and working environment. Again thanks for having this discussion I dont want to offend DCS or their strategy, just sharing my opinion as this is one of the things the forums are for. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Thanks for the replys. I understand that and I support it, as I already stated I have spent a lot. I understand what has been promised and what not and I am not claiming for anything and the most important I don't regred even a Penny spent on dcs. The reason I am a bit frustrated and opened this thread is every time I sit and start DCS i am starting to think what could I fly in realistic manner with proper playground without major flows ruining the expirience. We are already at late 2017 and I don't see this comin till late 2018, please ED prove me wrong on this. And already 2 years have passed since we wait for the mighty 2.5 and nobody knows how finished it will be. This doesn't change the fact that we are paying full price for forever alphas. Cockpit textures of ka50 and a10 are the same in 2.1 and 1.5, rendering is completely different thing. The AI and DM are broken now, which makes the whole SP environment broken. And I am not mentioning how bad ATC and weather engine and graphics are for a modern sim. Instead of working on ww2, they could finish modern combat playground and then concentrating on ww2 but now we have half of both. Why we even need normandy and ww2 stuff before proper DM ? Shouldn't be the opposite. Considering fixing DM and AI will fix many issues for modern as well. Again I am tired of reading what will come and what will happen eventually some day. I will pay full price when a full product is released. This is simply my opinion I just wanted to share it thats all. EDIT: To add that the problem is not the money I just don't like that "alpha" strategy anymore. 2 years is a bit too much for alpha, shouldn't be at least beta already ? Hello Guys, Just wanted to share my opinion on this. Don't get me wrong I love DCS it is great and I appreciate tge devs efforts for creating it but... I am getting a bit frustated from this marketing model. We have nevada in alpha since like 2 years and all that time it is selling at full price. Now we have normandy early access for 3-4 months already and again full price and even separate price for the assets. In the meantime a bunch of new modules were released with which you can basically only do trainings as they generally lacks proper playground and other AC from the same era. Then we have 1.5 which is not in alpha but still full of bugs, obsolete map, obsolete damage model, obsolete AI and considered finished modules like A10c and ka50 are with obsolete textures and have some bugs. While I would love to see the hornet, tomcat, SoH map and other stuff, I prefer to see ED concentrating on finishing the already released contents, updates the old modules create proper playground with working AI and damage model etc.. I understand the need of money from the new content, change the financial model if necessary, make it subscription based, but start releasing finished and fully usable content. I spent like 500-600$ on dcs already owning both alpha maps. Most of the modules are simply collecting dust simply because there is not much you can do with them. But thats it. From now on I am not paying full price for alphas or obsolete stuff and will buy new content only finished or on a big sale. I just wanted to share my opinion and don't want to be rude or anything. Again I love dcs and will not stop playing it anytime soon. Thank you. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
