  1. 2 days late, but here is part 2: I've included more comparisons because some of you can't test these out for some reason? @docWilly I'm not saying it's hard to fly, I'm just saying it doesn't feel right compared to other flight sims. Mostly Dreamfoil's AS350 (x-plane), which I imagine is similar to the Gazelle IRL, but in the sim, it's not the same at all. Polychop did everything extremely well, just not the FM :(
  2. I'll make another video when I get home :)
  3. "As a consequence of the phase lag, to turn the rotorcraft to the left or right would theoretically require a forward or backward cyclic if there was no mechanical correction. The rotor control system is mechanically shifted up to 90 degrees to compensate for phase lag" Did you even read the wiki article you sent me? lol
  4. Description: When rolling or pitching the aircraft, there seems to be quite a bit of lag when returning the stick to center. It just keeps rolling/pitching in the direction you gave it, again despite that fact you returned to center! DCS Version: 1.5.4.56500 Reproducible: Yes. Step to Reproduce: Open the controls indicator, roll the aircraft a bit then return to center. Turn SAS off to really feel it. It happens when SAS is on too, just not as noticiable. Screenshot/Video available: Controllers: Homemade, leobodnar controller, no saturation or curves. Any Additional Information: If this is a real "feature" of the Gazelle, I would love to know what and how it happens! However I think this is just a bug in programming, as many helicopter flight manuals/handbooks and other simulators talk when turning the aircraft you roll to your desired angle and return cyclic to center to hold. Just like an airplane!
  5. turn off SAS, you really get to see what we are talking about. I'll make a video later along with a bug report. EDIT: here is video:
  6. Pilots may know their aircraft well, but not as well as the engineers that designed it ;) Great post zaelu!
  7. This aircraft does not like turns, you give a little force and it bleeds off all airspeed. Doesn't help the fact that the Gazelle continues to pitch/roll in the direction you give it, despite you returning the stick to center. You end up over rolling and losing a ton altitude. I wish Polychop would address these issues, as there are a few threads asking the same questions with no reply from them :( Also still missing basic aerodynamic effects like flap/blowback.
  8. I'm going to start using this
  9. It's not a phase, mom. It happens during all of forward flight, greater then 20 knots or so. Ever flown the huey or mi-8 or the Ka-50?
  10. from this website: http://www.dynamicflight.com/aerodynamics/translational_lift/
  11. whoa They should ask the pilots about dissymmetry of lift, ETL and the massive airspeed bleed-off when turning too...
  12. I know you guys are probably sick of hearing this, but is there going to be any flight model changes? The lack of blowback from collective inputs is killing me! Unless you already explained why this is absent? Anyway, the multicrew feature is sounding really cool, might just start playing MP from now on :D
  13. The way the FM is currently, you barely have to move the stick. So just use the Hat trim.
  14. The 105 is used a lot for stunt flying and I imagine it has be pretty stable.
  15. I've not really noticed anything. Landing feels the same regardless of weather conditions. (except in a thunderstorm, obv.) This module still needs a lot of work. I'm not in the loop about the Hawk, what's up with it?
  16. awww I wanted mistral + cannon :(
  17. implying that most of the current helos aren't worthless
  18. Did you put down the sight? You can only fire with the gun sight down.
  19. I feel my controls lock up in the M too. Then again, I haven't flown the M since the latest update...
  20. Love the new update :D
  21. Wait for ED to release the next update, hopefully with the new Gazelle changes.
  22. It's there, it's just not as much as a huey though. It's a smaller airframe, not a lot of surface for air to bounce off of.
