  1. Likely if you were to locate and delete the offending image, you'd fix it. That could potentially mean another aircraft does the same to the A-4. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  2. Hi all, I couldn't find anything regarding recent bug issues, but since 2.5.5 I haven't been able to get a response from the ground crew on refueling or rearming. I've tried both types of radio (simple and non) as well as ensuring I'm on the right channel. I do know that the last update was rather controversial -- did it bork the radios as well?
  3. Is there any chance that we will see a slight modification to the map in order to facilitate redfor (Iran) airfield starts in the QME? Despite the fact that there are three coastal airports in the north for Iran, attempting to spawn an aircraft at an airfield in the north half of the map resorts in "no airdrome near this node." In fact, the pins on the map seem to be located over Iranian airports. I understand the simple user-side solition is to simply use the more advanced editor after generating the base QME setup, but I feel like this tiny quirk undermines the usefulness of the Persian Gulf map in the QME.
  4. Niche? A great deal of piracy comes out of Russia as well and this is a Russian designed product. As for no one wanting to steal? For a time, before ED switched to the new activation system both A-10 and BS were available on piracy websites to download. If you look for them today, you'll find there hasn't been a leak of anything else since. I'm usually anti-protection measures as well, but EDs is functional, low maintenance, and shouldn't be too big a deal unless you're reinstalling DCS every ten minutes. 5. No offense, but you do know you can buy these on Amazon and Newegg right now, right? As for the LCDs those are usually 7 inch lillyput monitors you just buy, plug in, and put behind the MFD frames. You can also use tablets via Colo's android app. You'll then need to export the displays from DCS onto the lillyput monitors. Colo's app acts as a camera and displays thr area in DCS in your tablet if you go that route Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  6. I believe this is probably the problem. Thanks, Heclak!
  7. Are exterior lights working at the moment? I could swear I've seen them before but went to do some night flying in the Skyhawk and couldn't get exterior lights to come on at all via key presses or cockpit clicks. Edit: I'm guessing they're not. In a group, I see 2 using the red strobe, but no other exteriors.
  8. I meant more along the lines of the flyables mods we see. Using the Hawk model, but building a high level mod to fill in the systems VEAO had. I'm not sure many would want to keep those systems being so incomplete. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  9. Given the recent VEAO thing, what is the feasibility of those who have the Hawk using Hawk assets such as the 3d model (which obviously cannot be shared) to create an advanced community mod similar to the Skyhawk? The assets are there (for those who own the Hawk) and could ideally be reused. This could even solve a lot of the Hawk's complaints since we the community could fix it ourselves in the spirit of the A-4 mod, finishing the original and coming together to make something better. Thoughts? Also, do not complain about VEAO in this thread. Go to the VEAO thread for that or PM a mod for your warning in advance. Its old news now and its time to move forward on what we can create from this event. This post is strictly for discussing the feasibility of community sourcing a Hawk mod out of pre-existing Hawk assets. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  10. This isn't a bug, its a feature of all DCS Hawk aircraft whether they be Sky or normal variants. BAZING! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  11. colo, I looked into the new app using my tablets -- they're much older tablets running on Android 4.0.1. Your old app ran on this, but the new one seems incompatible. Any chance you can set your app to run on these tablets? I'd rather spend $10 on the new app than $200 on new tablets.
  12. Silly question, but those of us that bought it in the past will still have it right? We don't need to buy it again? It was a fantastic app when DCS was still on a single trajectory. Honestly one of the best apps for using the Cougar MFDs. I have two old tablets I've saved for just this purpose and I'm super stoked to finally be able to have almost a full working cockpit. Thanks for all your hard work, Colo!
  13. Colo, now that we've reached 2.5 is there any chance you'll resume development?
  14. Agreed. When this is done, it'll be major. Even without using Ranma's stuff (I'm holding out for the UI), I've used it as the L-39s weapon panel, the Mirage's data panel and the A10s UFC. The device itself is great. Ranma's tool will make it a necessity. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  15. Ranma, thanks for this. Could be a great way to fill a cockpit without breaking the bank. Has there been any progress on your GUI? I've been waiting for this for a while, I'm hoping it hasn't been lost to time or differing interests. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  16. Likely a limitation of the N/A variant. Cant imagine they expected a whole lot of turn and burn happening in the dead of night from a ground pounder with weight restrictions. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  17. Hawk won't work (as I understand it) because the hook can't be added since the parts of the lua (or the dlls) are encrypted to maintain the anti-piracy. That said, I don't know enough about the way the luas work to know if it can simply be added to the Hawk lua. I do know due to the more open architecture of the FC3 planes, there's more wiggle room which is why we see the mods we do. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  18. I'm not completely sure, but it may be possible to modify the aircraft lua in order to add a hook. If not, it may be possible to edit a other aircraft with hook capabilities and give it a Su25 exterior as they do with the VSN mods. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  19. I love how this forum dies out and then thaws in the last days before an update. Gospadin has us all well trained. Here's hoping there's some news we can add the A-4 to the list of this years toys. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  20. Let's ask around on the model boards to see if someone can source new models ot even build new ones. It's not impossible, just gonna require some work on the community's part. I'm sure with all the skills available to the DCS community that we could not only rebuild the AdA mod but potentially begin creating some new ones in the same vein to fill in blanks -- like forces from the upcoming Straits map. Or to fill the ranks of the RAF with the Harrier coming. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  21. Instead of talking about hopes, let's put together our experience and fix it up ourselves. Does anyone know what is causing them to be incompatible? If we can identify the issue, it'll be a simple case of someone with enough free time going through the files. I'll look at some of the .lua files later and see if anything is super obvious. I would assume the fix, since were talking simple FC3 aircraft is probably just a weapon loadout change or some flag that doesn't exist anymore. In the case of the new AI aircraft, I would assume the original authors reserved a place for new aircraft in the aircraft table that DCS has now caught up to and is now conflicting with. For the flyables, it may be barely any work at all. The lua files are super sensitive and just one typo can crash DCS or cause the A-10C to load instead. If that's what's happening there's a strong chance the fault is inside the aircraft lua files and that'll narrow down the fix. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  22. Would anyone be interested in a slight modification to the Hawk that brings it in line a bit more toward the Mk 50/60 export variants? Let me know and I'll toss it up in the user files. I'd really like to see the Hawk get a little more life. Maybe to encourage a hook to be added so we have a trainer for all the carrier traps we'll need to practice soon. It's a short, quick mod that adds a broader range of dumb munitions and rockets to the outer pylons, but it's enough to make the Hawk useful for more than airshows and extra flight hours. Especially while we wait for Hawk 2.0. It also adds the familiar centerline fuel tank and wing tanks, but they're completely cosmetic as the Hawk T.1a has no fuel transfer system. If anyone has the knowledge and can point me in the right direction, I'd like to make a further modification in the future that allows us to use all four pylons for A2G or even adds wingtip sidewinders to mimic the capabilities of the T2, but I don't think this will happen as VEAO has coded two air to air pylons and two ground pylons as per the Hawk T.1a's original systems. If anyone knows a way around that, I'd be happy to throw something together.
  23. This is beginning to look pretty feature complete. Seems like we'll be flying it in around two weeks or so. I, for one, welcome the coming difficulty in choosing between a cat, a bug, and two birds in my flight log. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  24. This ultimately depends on what aircraft you're flying. A good rule of thumb for attackers (A10, su25, helos) is be low until you need to do work, be high long enough to hit things, get low and get out. For air superiority, fly high to keep an eye out. Higher than the bad guy and outside his SAM range. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
  25. I remember when Razbam was working on an A-6.
