Strange, he always stop freezing when closing the canopy for me. Maybe the shaking you experience isn't related. (just to make sure, no offense, but you do know there is actually a "freezing pilot" effect, right?)
-
Nice little detail, isn't it ;-)
-
Are your canopy closed? How cold is it outside? Do you hear teeth rattling? Uneven breathing? The poor guy is freezing!

Heatblur has actually mentioned a while back they plan for helicopters some way along the lines (unfortunately can't find the thread at the moment). And as you probably know, the BO-105 has been handed over from MilTeck-5 to another not yet revealed third party developer. Small, subtle hints from MilTech-5 and above information makes me believe (and hope) Heatblur is that secret BO-105 developer. The BO-105 have been used by the Swedish army and as you know many of the team members are Swedes. Edit: I think it's this comment by Cobra (#2) I am referring to (hard to remember). Not really a promise but still... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3174767

** UPDATE: Ground Radar 2.0 & Multiplayer Flight Planning **
Holton181 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Woo-hoo!!! :-D -
Do you see any changes on the compass? I believe the knob still isn't animated.
-
Yes, but it's just that the pictures Knock-knock presented above looks so much better than I can get it. Figured that it might be a combination of that bug and user error.
-
May I ask in what respect the gain was affected? I too has it assigned to a joystick axis and find the radar almost useless in 2.x (works fine in 1.5.7 with the same binding). I do see the radar screen change when moving the axis on the joystick though, but "best" readability is always in the same end position and degrades if changed.

My understanding is that all aircrafts in MAC that exist as a full fidelity version in DCS will be simplified in MAC to fit its intended customer base (both pilot/machine interaction and flight model). MAC is for those not wanting a studysim as DCS. So the Albatross will most likely not be the same in MAC and DCS.

I noticed it as well. But according to several other threads it seems many of the announced changes reached ED to late for them to be included in the patch.

Huey and landing! Where are those experts pilot with quick landing :)
Holton181 replied to Frag's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I suggest this as a first read for anyone going into the world of helicopters, be it for simulators or real world: https://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/helicopter_flying_handbook/ It's free (pdf, cheap as printed), not to long, fairly easy to read, good pictures and handle most aspects in the art. Of course you might have read it already but no harm in mentioning it. -
Not a clue, I never play MP, but my gutt say it won't break it. Test and see.

The Cargo Cam is officially removed by the devs, but all they technically did (so far) was to remove the key bindings. The MOD I mention in post #2 adds it back.
-
Yes, can be done, I have. I don't have it in memory where and I'm not at home for a couple of days so I can't check, but keep on looking in those luas, you'll find it.
-
Awesome! Not at home for the moment, but will have a look in a couple of days.

I would say 1. I fly the Ka-50 mostly in DCS 1.5.7 for several reasons and use UltraMFCD for that, but that doesn't work in DCS 2.X. Recently though I have been focusing on the Viggen in 2.5.3 OB. Also I think there is a little bit more potential customers flying the Viggen at the moment (just a feeling). Thanks!
-
Excellent! Thanks!
-
May I ask if there are any plans to support: Viggen (radar display and data panel)? Ka-50 (Abris and possibly Shkval)? Huey (center console)? Mi-8 (doppler nav panels, both pilot and co-pilot ones)? Gazelle (I don't own it yet, don't know anything specific to which for)?
-
Thanks guys, then we know the radar will get some love eventually. Dare we ask for a rough time-frame? Before Viggen is taken out of early access?
-
+1 Good questions. Hope the devs will give us some insight.

Well, I just figured that if dogfights was a major thing for this aircraft, an even more sophisticated solution would be likely (not looking at the radar ranging). A fixed sight would probably be simpler to implement I agree, but then that extra orientation information at a convenient place would be "lost". Let's hope for some of the devs get in here and share what they know, maybe it's not more than you have found, forcing them to guess.
-
This is sufficient (have tested, I also use a simple soldier for the range area) then aircraft slot.
-
Just my two cents here, without having any official information what so ever. But for what I know, this AJS wasn't really build for dogfights in mind making Corvinus theory of using the sight as a rough estimation most plausible in my opinion. It's not very often I believe your would find yourself aligned with the same bank angle as your target during a dogfight either. The JA model might be a different thing, but I have no clue how the sight work on that either. But with practice our brains are quite remarkable in using imperfect information. A little bit like the graphic scale located somewhere on a regular paper map, or the square grid, when geting used to it you can quite rapidly estimate distances just with a quick glance on the map, without the use of any tools. I think it's the same thing with this sight. Of course the sight could have been aligned with the wings and the pilots brain would have adopted to that, but by having the sight aligned with the horizon the pilot also get distinct orientation information without the need to look at other instruments (I get the feeling it's quite easy to get disoriented while in a dogfight). Again, this is basically only guessing, would be nice to have some official information.

So you are saying engine damage (fire) don't occur anymore when exceeding EGT limits? (haven't flown her for some time)
-
Happy to help. But it sure is a strange bug you had.
