It seems to be back! I can activate it since yesterday's update. Don't know if it was back earlier though. Edit: Wrong by me. It's not officially back. But I use a modified older version of the default.lua in ..\Input\UH-1H\joystick in a self made mod, and in that file the Cargo Cam is still present, and it obviously works if that line is added back to the file. Put this line {down = device_commands.Button_4, up = device_commands.Button_4, cockpit_device_id = devices.CARGO_CAM, value_down = 1, value_up = 0, name = _('Toggle External Cargo Camera'), category = _("External Cargo")},directly under the '-- External Cargo' on line 246 in ..\DCS World 2 OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Input\UH-1H\joystick\default.luaOr use the attached OvGME ready MOD. In that the possibility to add Cargo View as a joystick button is also enabled. Edit2: Uploaded a new version of the MOD with Cargo Cam keyboard assignments enabled too. Or you might add the line {combos = {{key = 'C', reformers = {'LCtrl','LShift'}}}, down = device_commands.Button_4, up = device_commands.Button_4, cockpit_device_id = devices.CARGO_CAM, value_down = 1, value_up = 0, name = _('Toggle External Cargo Camera'), category = _("External Cargo")},directly under the '-- External Cargo' on line 161 in ..\DCS World 2 OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Input\UH-1H\keyboard\default.lua UH-1H Cargo view 2.5.zip

Still working for me, see my answer to your post in the Mi-8 forum.
-
No, I have it. Also compared the new update with last one with OvGME snapshot and basically nothing except the usual bin folder was updated. Same for the Huey, still have cargo view, and even cargo cam is working for the Huey now, though they discarded that a while ago?

Wrong info in Huey TrackIR Gunner name.lua

Still present for the UH-H, corrected for the Mi-8 though. -
DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures
Holton181 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Mustang, First, thanks for this very nice mod! Now, after the latest update to 2.5.2.18521 I compared the terrain.cfg.lua from this mod with the new original one. The things you modified are only these around lines 935-941 right? noise1PerSquare = 2.0, -- тайлинг дальних шумов noise2PerSquare = 32.0,-- тайлинг ближних шумов ... tilingFar = 40.0,There are some other stuff in the modded terrain.cfg.luathat not included in the present original one that I thought is safe to remove, but I'm not 100% sure they are not part of your mod. They are: dir.."SurfaceDetails/Caucasus.References.StructTable.sht";on line 64 and surfaceDetailsHints = { --big_stone - большие камни --medium_stone - средние камни --stone - камни меньше средних --noise_1 = {"medium_stone","stone","small_stone"}, }on lines 1040 through 1047. I assume they are safe to remove in respect to your mod, just to keep the file as close to the original one as possible? -
But he has a spring though weak. That option is mainly if you also, in addition to the properties you mentioned, have friction enough to hold the stick in place. But it can of course be used like you suggest as well.

These are the actual throttles (more correctly the Engine Condition Levers as per the manual) for each engine. Located to the left of the collective. This is the one on the collective, on other helicopters referred to as the throttle. Don't know if there are any actual difference between this on the Mi-8 and others except for the naming. Might be incorrectly named throttle in the manual.

So, no-one? At least where can I find files concerning objects like FARPs in the install folder?
-
Indeed you have, and I know you have. This is why I repeat it, maybe with different words and angles, hopefully he might realize it's importance one day. @Cunning_Fox You have a tiny room, right? With the bed right behind your chair with barely no space to move, right? Simply do this (and I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but it deserves repetition): Put your chair away and sit down on the side of your bed in front of your laptop. Stack a pile of books on the floor between your legs and your joystick on it (spring removed!), at a height so you can rest your forarm on your thigh and comfortably control the stick with your fingers. Move your pedals accordingly, maybe if necessary move your bed/desk to get the screen closer. Maybe not perfect, but much better than what you have now, for free, no extra investments and easy to restore.

I did this mistake myself... Last part of 2.5.2 update 1, post #11: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3504350

Well, did you see the quote I referred to? Having a configuration as he describes, with stretched out arm, doesn't help a lot. If he can alter his configuration, my suggestion was simply to do that.
-
The word "difficult" in this context I would say being a grave understatement! If you want to be proficient flying helicopters, do whatever you can to change your setup. In my opinion, how your physical setup is configured is vastly more important for helicopter flying than any other type of simulation, no-one even come close! Your fingers, hand and wrist (also the rest of your arm) need to be relaxed because it is with those you balance your helicopter to the most part. Thats why helicopter pilots, both simers and IRL, rest their forarm on their thigh, and basically holding the stick with only 2-3 fingers.

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Holton181 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Server.lua doesn't seem to work in 2.5.2 OB. Even tried gEyePoint = {5, 8, 0.00} But nothing. Also tried to change the limits_6DOF for the Mi-8 but it didn't work. The SnapViews.lua seems to work though (tested above with and without SnapViews.lua) All of this worked in 1.5.7. -
Hi, Is there a way to alter the elevation of static objects like houses, FARPs etc? In particular the Helipad Single, it is to elevated in my taste. And when looking at the preview of it in ME it is shaped as a cone extending far below the (flat) surface it is placed on hinting that altered elevation might be possible through some lua edit. I would like the landing surface to be basically in level with the surrounding (on flat and not sloping ground that is). And yes, I did search without success. Thanks!

Thanks!

Regarding the hydraulic system, I believe I turned the main hydraulic off (wall panel above the anti-collision beacon) ones when it failed, to isolate it from the common system. This after reading about it somewhere long ago, cant find the source. It worked for me that time to avoid the common system to go out after the main, but it might as well have been a coincidence.
-
I believe I read something about it in the manual, have a look there. Don't know if it works in the simulation though. Edit: Found it. Under 'Targeting Mode Control Panel', bullet 8, page 2-101. Hope it helps.
-
Yep, but to be more correct it's a switch to change hydraulic source for the gear. If both hydraulic systems are out you can't get them down. But as Yurgon said, after main hydro is gone you have a little while to get them down with the secondary, before it's out too.
-
Finished = no new features! They do indeed mention support for it = bug hunting and correction! No, you are not left out in the dark. Just read a little bit more carefully in the future.
-
Happens in SP too. They're not dead, just running out and jump to cover from a potentialy dangerous situation with a damaged helicopter. Try to land anywhere, go to F2 view, make sure you see the front an a couple of meters to each side from the doors and then hit LCtrl+E three times. For what I remember they even have their hands over their heads. Never seen anyone leaving the Mi-8 though, but doors are opened and you can't reenter the cockpit. For both no indication of dead pilots will be present in the briefing when leaving the mission. The Ka-50 is rather unique in that you still control your pilot.

no flaming cliffs missions on instant action?
Holton181 replied to silentbob11's topic in DCS: Persian Gulf
I would suggest 'saved games\DCS...\Missions'. Most easy to find. But as already mentioned, can be anywhere. -
No, not there. All modules yes, but not the main Belsimtek.
