  1. I'm having no problems with this issue but I always place an Unarmed - Tanker at the airfield regardless of whether it is 'blue' or not. I always pop the canopy as well and that seems to do the trick. I haven't played with intercom at all; just Mic switch forward with the correct airfield frequency. Have you tried these 2?
  2. Is there any 2015-2016 updated info on the ability to edit a track after the flight. Maybe something as simple as just cutting the entire track down externally to send a clip of the grand crash.
  3. @bunraku I'm curious why you would use the Throttle Slew to do this, can you elaborate? To address your question, if you need a button can you use the AutoPilot button on the base of the throttle? I really never use it and that would be the first I could sacrifice....just a thought.

Nice stuff if you need it but WOW..... outrageously expensive...just look at the part "Switchguard for toggle switch on-on-on"....not even a switch, just a cover http://www.simparts.de/en/sicherheitsabdeckung-guard-fuer-kippschalter-on-on-on-en.html $66USD.......what is that made of Unobtainium!!!!! I can buy that here in Shanghai for ¥18...that's about $2.75. These people must be used to selling this to the US DOD! I'm planning to build an AHCP panel with a bracket to mount it to the Thrustmaster MFCD if anyone is interested. It's not the exact placement but at least it avoids another keyboard stroke and fits on my desktop.
  5. First, thanks to StrongHarm for the 'Spotting Targets:' comments above in this thread. That made me read the Flight Manual for the 'umpteen' time; focusing on the TAD (starting on page 299). I'm relatively new at this (less than 200 hrs) but it gave me an idea about 'hooking' and what my job is supposed to be; providing CAS (not just killing shit). So I tried this tonight, it really worked for me....I hope this makes sense; it seems a variation of what StrongHarm was talking about. Use the TAD to locate friendlies marked by the 'X'. I'm not sure who they ALL are but it obviously includes FACs (stationary & in vehicles). I was going after those in the front lines that might be more engaged in the battle and needed a little 'Love from Above'. Then I use the TAD Cursor to 'hook' them and TMS ForLong to make them SPI and slave the TGP. Then I use the TGP to start looking ahead of them in a scanning pattern and BINGO!!!, there the enemy be :) So I 'markpoint' the enemy (TMS Right Short) and I enter them on the CDU, scan a little further around, consider my loadout and plan my attack. At one point I had 3 new target groups (8 targets) in the CDU in less than a minute while loitering at 10,000. Then I became the Hand of God...hehehehe!! The coolest part of this tonight was one of the friendlies I 'hooked' was an Abrams already engaged and obviously he had been hit but not yet out of the fight. His adversary didn't fare so well after a little Uranium CM fairy dust from above :) As StrongHarm said 'Hope these methods cut your training time.'   6. Curious of this as well but also wondering whether it is related to when I have exhausted my AIM missiles I can't get a funnel reticle....I'm still in a fight!!
  7. Xavven, I did follow your suggestion and tried the Repair. Not sure I did it correctly but it said that all was fixed. But no joy; 1 out of every 3 missions starts out with either; NO HUD displayed No label buttons on ONLY the Left MFCD Missing components on the TAD page...no airplane or no Waypoints....just lines. I restart the same mission and then sometimes all is good. Any other suggestions? I might re-install the whole thing but not sure what steps to take. Thanks for your input.
  8. @msvgas No mods, skins, or editing of and lua files. Straight install with a recent update a week or so before of the DCS Module. Haven't touched any beta stuff either although I'm very interested in the Nevada map. Like I said...it was running just fine until last night.
  9. Everything was running fine over the last weeks until last night when strange sh?t happened. I had intended some short flights and first tried an existing Mission...that's when the weirdness started. Keep in mind that I had not made any changes to anything...pretty sure. I also used Start from Runway so I did not go through all the startup procedures. HUD was not there, completely clear front view. I re-started mission HUD was there but missing several components: Total Velocity Vector - gone Small 'dot' indicating HUD is SOI - gone TDC missing So I restarted whole machine and loaded up again. This time I tried a quick start mission and whereas the HUD was fine I had new problems. L MFCD has various issues on several flights: My Airplane symbol missing on TAD Lower labels (TAD, DSMS, TGP, STAT,,, ) missing. Tried RESET to no avail. Has anybody had these kinds of problems...does this sound like something corrupted? BTW, v 1.5.2. Please advise...or tell my crewchief...thanks

  11. What's the minimum altitude for a GBU-10/12? I'm quite successful at anything over 6,000ft with Auto-Lase on for 8 secs but anything below doesn't hit at all.....no impact point/explosion. The laser is shown as firing but no joy :(

  13. Screen choppy with TGP & Mav displayed With TAD (Left MFCD) and CDU (Right MFCD) selected I have a very smooth screen flow; very realistic. But if I have TGP selected (Right MFCD) the screen flow becomes choppier. When I put TGP on the L MFCD and Mav on the R MFCD it is extremely choppy and visually disturbing. I really can't even follow the landscape when looking out of the cockpit. I have a MSI Radeon HD 6950 DirectX 11 R6950 Twin Frozr II video card and a new Asus H81 Gamer MOBO (16Gb) with 480Gb SSD. Does this sound reasonable with the setup I have? Are there some DCS settings I need to look at? Any other suggestions? Thanks
  14. External Views...what am I doing wrong here? I see absolutely awesome video views of bombs strikes on targets from a ground level and can't seem to figure out what Views you guys are using. Can someone enlighten me on this? I drop a CBU and hit F6 for a weapon view ans that quickly reverts back to cockpit after the bomb has split open. How are you guys getting the ground attitude view of the rest of the show? Thanks

  17. More Efficient targeting with TAD A couple questions on more effective/efficient targeting using TAD. Can you 'de-cluttter' the TAD to eliminate 'old' markpoints or target symbols? Can you delete or otherwise remove markpoints from TAD and/or CDU? It seems to get pretty confusing when you have 3-4 points from JTAC in the same vicinity and you're trying to Hook the right one. Can you place (drop) a markpoint on the ground below a turnpoint to make slewing for targets faster? When heading to a target rich environment below a turnpoint (Ex: Elevation: 3,500) I find it slow to slew to the ground in search of a target not already marked. Thanks
  18. Here I thought it was just me but the GAU isn't scratching the tanks. I've can't claim any issue with other weapons but 5 runs on 1 tank and he just laughed and eat a sandwich. On the 5th run he took out half my hog. Something seems weird here
  19. Not hijacking but it's a related question/inquiry...the manual mentions wingtip spotlights point toward front fuselage...can't figure how to turn on. Also, would they illuminate the ground any better than just nosewheel spot?
  20. Not so fast here....let's review, ABS works by keeping the tire rotating to maintain traction between the 2 surfaces; tire rubber and roadway surface. Once that rotation is lost and the wheel locks up an appreciable amount of braking is lost along with, more importantly, directional stability of the vehicle. In an aircraft it can be complicated further because of the amount of weight sitting on a very small footprint of the skidding tires. The tire can quickly heat up and explode...that would be very bad for 20+ tons of A-10 sitting on 3 tires. ABS works by monitoring and 'pumping' the braking system to avoid that loss of wheel rotation, much like us older drivers learned before the introduction of ABS. An ABS does this in a cycle much faster than humanly possible as it measures the rotation changes of 3-4 tires in milleseconds. In gravel, sand and snow, ABS tends to INCREASE braking distances. On these surfaces, locked wheels dig in and stop the vehicle more quickly. ABS prevents this from occurring. So it would be quite logical for a pilot to turn ABS off when landing on an unfinished dirt-gravel runway or one with heavy snow. I'd be interested to hear from one of the experienced 'real' driver on this.
  21. @ baltic_dragon, I believe it was one of 'Threshor's_Missions'; a day range predator JTAC. It was a basic training mission and the last time I flew it I sat checked out my ride, depressed the brake and whack the throttle. When I got to the correct waypoint I called for JTAC and he responded. Did that again just now and he responded after several calls, then it took 2-3 attempts for a 9 Line, More Info and a DataLink message. Are they that busy :)? I'm sure this miossion is several years old but it worked perfectly before. I would be very happy if you recommend one that isn't too involved and complicated as I'm relatively new to this and getting my feet wet again. Thanks for the response.
  22. Can't get JTAC to respond In the latest version I'm having no luck getting JTAC to respond in some of these missions where it work a year ago. Is there something about the radio freqs that has changed....it's telling me to use 30FM in the mission.
  23. Interesting, I've never consciously selected GameMode, I'll check that out. What made me think it was some type of corruption was my flight controls were screwed up; it looked like I had my stick pushed full left on takeoff, the ailerons were completely whacked out. I had no rudder or front wheel control. Again, I'll check that out and thanks for the tip.

  25. Thanks folks, got almost everything up and running successfully. Just need to grab the old TrackIR5 file since that was one that was really dialed in. Also need to find the Razer Orbweaver configuration since I had virtually eliminated any keyboard use by using that mini keyboard. I'll get some hours in before I get the NTTR but that should be really nice since I'm in China now and completely unfamiliar with the Caucasus region. One other issue I'm confused about....every time I fly a mission it starts as a external chase view with my MFDs superimposed on the top corners of my screen. I can't get out of that view no matter what keys I press. I can't even change the MFD views Any assistance, always appreciated
